Basically yes, but it does have a few unique things going for it. Minor spoilers: -

It's a typical what I would call "gaming anime". Lots of cliches and so on. Still, it's a fairly entertaining watch imo. -

Meh, the only thing that caught my eye so far is Overlord S2. -

So, basically to reap the maximum amount of income for myself I should never spot in a CV and focus on damage dealing instead. Nothing we didn't know already, tbh, but it's depressing to see the actual numbers.- 34 replies

She's technically speaking not particularly unique as she's "just" an Iowa with radar and hilarious credit earning potential. However combining the traits of an Iowa, which is already a very good ship, with radar does make Missouri overpowered. She won't do you any good if you can't play high tier USN BBs, though. On the other hand if you are capable of playing them and enjoy it Missouri can be thoroughly recommended.

Tier X Carrier gameplay, threats and insults

The thing is that as a strike Haku you can also sit back and wait for your opponent to make a move, then capitalize on it. AS Haku wants to drop a DD? Throw a spanner in the works and cover him. He still wants to strike? Force him to accept either disproportionate fighter or bomber losses. With adequate micro even just one fighter squad poses a significant threat that the enemy cannot simply nullify via superior numbers. And since imo the damage output of DBs is something you can do without you can send them out to scout if necessary, providing almost the same amount of effective intelligence as the AS Haku. That means both sides will be sitting around, scouting while waiting for the opportunity to strike. Just because your enemy is playing AS doesn't mean you have to give him the freedom to strike, nor does it mean you have to sacrifice your own fighters to force an opening. Haven't faced a situation in which all my fighters are dead late game in ages. I seriously cannot even remember a single instance ever since I got to high tier CVs, regardless of enemy setup (including USN AS) and enemy skill. Proper fighter micro goes a long way to equalize the playing field, which is why having more than two fighter squads is a bonus if given for free and somewhat of a waste if you have to trade strike potential for it in the context of random battles. Anyway, since it's random battles we're talking about this discussion is kinda moot anyway. Both setups are perfectly viable, I just perceive strike as the superior choice considering the... "amazing quality" of players usually found in random battles. On the other hand AS is certainly the superior choice if you know your team is actually good. -
No new CVs until rework. Rework will be done soon™.

And an aircraft carrier is a ship. Topkek reasoning. You do realize you can just play a single battle with a Hosho or a Langley and easily farm those 5 "impossible to get" plane kills, right? If you don't wanna do it, your loss.

Please, point out all these amazing posts that are supporting you then. Yeah, to cater to bad players like you and for nothing else. Git gud son.

Yeah, obviously with a good team AS is actually the superior choice, which is why I argued for the loadout to be locked to the training room for competitive. Ranked/CBs as well if it ever goes there. Still, in random outplaying even good AS players isn't nearly as hard as many make it out to be. It's often a game of patience, forcing the AS Haku to accept tremendous fighter losses if he wants to strike anything and strike full force at whatever openings he gives you afterwards. You'll never have the initiative, sure, but you don't really need it. He will want to make a move since he believes he has air superiority with four fighters to your two. At worst you've canceled each other out. Don't see why you'd necessarily have to use three DBs as a strike force. That still leaves strike behind as the maximum scouting count is five with two fighters vs the six with four fighters of AS, but DBs can definitely be juggled and used as scouts regardless of how many there are. -
Woah, a team actually did the right thing and stuck together? Pics or it didn't happen! :P Yeah, games like this suck, no doubt. Still, in such matches scouting for your team and waiting for them to create openings for you are simply part of CV play since no class should be independent from the team. If your team is incapable of doing so (as it was apparently in this case) and the enemy team is actually playing right for once things start looking real grim, but it also means that you would've lost no matter what CV you're captaining.

Yeah, this pretty much: Not to mention it's a nasty surprise to any Haku playing 2/3/3 as you're pretty much guaranteed air superiority even if you only trade one for one due to superior fighter reserves. Personally I actually don't have much issues dealing with AS Taiho or Haku. The same principles to outplaying USN AS still apply but the stakes are higher for you since he can actually do some fairly decent damage. The thing about having decent strike potential however also means he will want to use it, so just cover your teammates until he comes swooping in with his fighters to clear a path which he will then inevitably lose, then go strike after he's expended his fighters. The last thing an AS CV wants is air parity despite superior air control potential. Continue to trade like this and suddenly you'll find yourself with air superiority despite having fewer fighters in the air (as having 20 fighters in the air also means he's gonna lose 20 fighters in one swoop if he [edited]s up, easily depleting his reserves). As I said previously, anything above two fighters gives you diminishing returns in terms of air control. AS CVs work only against less skilled CV players, but then again so does strike with much more match influence potential. Not saying I don't want to see AS removed, although perhaps it should be locked to the training room instead for the sake of competitive, but AS is often easier to deal with than many people make it out to be regardless of how skilled your opponent is. -
You just said that +/-1 MM will only benefit good players. Thus the average player who sucks will be forced to get better at the game or fail. Which in turn will raise the standard of play. Again, I see nothing wrong.
-
Forcing the average player to git gud. I see nothing wrong.

Haven't watched the replay (no time, sry) but judging from the screens you should perhaps work on your target priority. You have destroyed two bottom tier ships, those obviously won't have much impact on the game unless captained by someone very good. You seem to have focused on lower tier ships in general while almost all of the top tier ships on the enemy team survived and did rather well. Shooting at the CV is also a waste of time unless you're sure you can kill him quickly. I mean, if those were the only ships on your flank and your only targets sure, not much you can do then. And even just seeing the screenshots I can tell that that loss certainly wasn't your fault. Some games are simply impossible to win even if you kill 2/3rds of the enemy team on your own.
-
Obviously the game in general would massively benefit from +/-1 MM. Still, the things that OP is spouting such as demanding CVs to always be top tier or saying that CVs in the beginning were fine are beyond hilarious and deserve every bit of ridicule he's getting here.
-
Lets see. Page 1 is full of what basically amounts to "git gud". Same with page 2. Every single one of them you have refuted by insisting on being good at playing CVs. Newsflash: You're not. And ofc not a single post supporting you. Yeah, I am totally blind and only see what I want to see lol.
-
This is funny considering no one has supported your pitiful point of view so far.
-
What's with all the whine posts lately? If you can't deal with being bottom tier in a CV then don't play them.

Yeah, that'd be completely unthinkable over here. You get banned from teams/playing fields for life if you constantly bring guns over the power limit or often display toxic behavior. I think you know. There are a couple. Akizukis e.g. Then you have DDs that look like lolis at first but seem to grow in age after remodeling. Asashios are a good example for that imo. -
I'm honestly tempted to use AP bombs right now... I mean, yeah, HE bombs do provide me with more flexibility and potential damage as I have proven previously, but I hate the high RNG factor. With AP bombs I can at least get all 14 bombs on target every time, guaranteeing me decent damage.

Not as bad but certainly inferior to strike in the context of random battles. Yeah, it kinda works thanks to having at least some alright strike potential, but if your fighter control is good you'll never need four fighters as anything above two fighter squads gives you diminishing returns in terms of air control. It's just a waste of strike potential you would otherwise have. Personally I actually play with the stock loadout. 2/3/2 gives me a couple more fighters to play with and a ridiculous amount of TBs so I can take some risks if needed while two DBs usually set fires and scout just as well as three.
