I mean, personally I'm only annoyed by the long duration. I wouldn't mind emblems at all if they only get shown for ~2 seconds, which would be more than long enough. Or alternatively move them towards the bottom of the screen instead of displaying them smack dab in the middle.

Yes. Yes it is. And we have one. Though we can only fire blanks as we do not have the facilities to accommodate such a weapon, but if you own a few acres of land, put the necessary safety measures in place and pass all the legal inspections you're actually allowed to fire it for real. (I'm not joking, some of the guys in my club are obsessed with that stuff. Polite and lovable people, but a bit crazy.) In fact, here's a gif of it -

I own a modern recurve bow. Archery is a tremendously fun hobby (not to mention it's a lot cheaper than target shooting), I can thoroughly recommend it. (We shoot bows and crossbows in our gun club, too. :) ) -
Just stating that despite their excessive influence, derived mostly from the average playerbase being braindead, a good CV doesn't automatically win you games as most people seem to believe.
-
Considering they've so far deliberately ignored everything we have said and even told us that they've done so to the face, pretty sure they do just so they can spite us further by disregarding every suggestion that comes up here immediately. (Sad thing is I'm not even joking)

Which is precisely why I still lose every 5th game or so in my best ones despite vastly inferior air opposition. Shutting down a CV is laughably easy nowadays regardless of skill level.

- readjust economy so that the focus lies on team based actions rather than damage (should be done regardless of whether combating passive play is the goal or not) - introduce scoring zones according to the distance to objectives - reduce earnings to 0 if a player spends over 80% of the match time in a low scoring zone and nullify all camo advantages (timer starts at 18 minutes), for CVs average plane position when armed is used instead of their physical hull with a small window of time being disregarded after takeoff (I'd say ~5 seconds would be more than enough) Thus idiotic playstyles can no longer be sustained even with premium ships/camo/account while having only positive impact on normal gameplay. Ofc these changes should be clearly communicated to the entire community ingame beforehand.

Neither is a safe bet against it as deck and below waterline hits will always result in penetration damage.

Been playing the Yama for the HSF challenge. Have to say I'm actually enjoying myself a lot more than I expected despite my initial impressions. She's basically an NC on steroids but lacking AA. Plop your big fat aft in a good position and let loose with those beautiful, beautiful accuracy and penetration. Kill everything that is dumb enough to sail into your line of fire and laugh as they try to angle in the face of lol overmatch. Giggle in delight as enemy AP shells gently caress your armor without effect, manage HE spam with proper use of heal, DCP, cover and concealment. On the other hand, I've also had a bit of success using her as a roaming BB as well. She can maintain bounce angles while keeping all guns on target which is a huge advantage, let down only by godawful turret traverse. Not to mention she's the only BB I'm comfortable taking on a Conqueror with. I'm building mine for stealth and survivability. Nothing groundbreaking.

Houshou is best used for expeditions that require a CVL as she has low resource consumption. In fact, I reckon that's her only use, really. Same with the Mutsukis, though a couple of them also come with rare equipment when K2. They also become able to equip landing craft (Mutsuki, Sasuki, Kisaragi and Fumizuki I think). Fubuki and Murakumo have great stats when K2. Rest of the Fubuki class is unimpressive so far afaik. -
"CVs are broken in a broken MM scenario, therefore I must blame CVs." Seriously, the Midway didn't even play well. On the other hand I just had a game in which I got an enemy Mino on one flank and a DM on the other behind cover. All I could do was completely demolish the enemy CV (I got 45 plane kills, he got 7 and was dead last on the scoreboard) while killing that one stupid BB every match has going off alone. Meanwhile on my team all DDs suicided, one BB suicided, one BB tried to hold a cap but got killed because lol support and the three other BBs on my team camped BEHIND me. Unsurprisingly we lost. And yeah, with how this team played compared to the enemy I deserved to lose along with them. It is so hilariously easy to shut down high tier CVs nowadays. All it takes is a cruiser on each flank and you're set. If a team gets demolished by a CV they most definitely deserve it one way or the other.

Check the video again and look at the scoreboard. Flamu held a good position in defending C cap, that's true. There were two other BBs however that never advanced past the D line and had minuscule match impact. Guess where they ended up? Also noteworthy is the difference of exp between the DDs. The Gaede took a solo cap, dealt a bit of damage then died. The Mahan did nothing but pad damage before dying. The Kiev got a solo cap, killed a DD then died. Kiev has only a 170 base exp advantage over the Mahan. Gaede is only ahead by 89 base exp. The Mahan could've easily surpass both by getting a kill or two. All of them are far left behind by one worthless camping BB, the Hipper who played it safe to do nothing but pad damage despite having the opportunity to turn the match if he had simply taken a risk and ofc Flamu who essentially defended C cap on his own. Judged by that taking caps is actually a lot less lucrative than simply padding damage. Hardly surprising considering WG nerfed capping exp by a huge amount quite a while back.

Torpedo Acceleration allows you to kill DDs better. Killing DDs is what you need to do in a CV. Thus you should take it. Just keep in mind the torpedo fuse is time, not range based. If you take TA you will need to drop further away for your torpedoes to become armed. With the converging spread you can long drop to get all your torps on target (or alternatively attack from unfavorable positions such as bow or stern on) but it requires quite a bit of practice even against the biggest targets. For now however you should stick to learning the basics and keep yourself from experimenting too much, but a little bit won't hurt. E.g. when you're sure you're gonna secure a kill anyway drop a bit further away than you would normally do. Try to get a feeling on how fast your torps are and how far away you can drop to get all your ordinance on target without giving your enemy any chances to dodge. Stationary targets (which are usually plentiful with all these BBs around) are the best to practice this on.

Did you even read anything about how the economy in this game works or did you just skip everything in your blind crusade about "hurr durr if it weren't for bad players you wouldn't be unicum!!1111"? The current economic system does not reward good play. In fact, it even punishes playing for the team as it puts its primary emphasis on damage while giving out meager rewards for anything else. This means that, for example, from an economical perspective camping in the back while farming damage is precisely what BBs need to do if they want to see big numbers on the score screen. The current economic system encourages the very bad behaviors we all hate to see. To build even further on that is nothing short of absolutely daft. I know I'm being rude here but I have stated this numerous times just recently in a thread I'm sure you have followed. We have also been shown just how ludicrously insignificant the rewards for spotting and killing planes are in a thread approx. two weeks ago. There is no excuse for your ignorance.

I mean, from a pure gameplay perspective I'd have no problem at all with such a change, but the 128mm mounts are quite a bit bigger than the 105mm ones. I'm pretty sure they won't fit as is on the Hindenburg. Though you could always just design a new, smaller mount.

wow Sweet Lord Baby Jesus...WG, skill level on playerbase is out of controll.

Except no, the BBs at least actually get rewarded for such idiotic play. As long as they can sit back and farm damage while doing nothing to help their team then they will continue to do so as they will get a good economic result regardless of whether or not they win or lose. And in a sense that is not a wrong decision at all because the current economy rewards selfish play far more than anything else due to putting the vast majority of its emphasis on damage dealt. Of course the same applies to every other class, the most prevalent example other than BBs being CVs farming damage while disregarding everything else. And as long as it stays that way nothing will change. -

A very small percentage of players will watch such videos (and those that do are usually ones that would want to improve in the first place). Unless you force tutorials in the game itself (which I am also in favor of) there is nothing that can be done in this manner. -

I believe skill based MM to be unfeasible with both the overall amount of players playing and the current skill disparity. On the other hand, +/- 1 MM would be well within reasonable bounds to lessen the difference in performance between the tiers. So nothing should be done about the players always camping at the map border? Or the people who simply refuse to play the objective? Should we continue to encourage such behavior by rewarding them? What is there left to try?! We have an entire friggin' BB line dedicated to brawling and guess what the average player is doing with them? Camping at the map border, sniping at targets 20km away and complaining about how their accuracy sucks. We have DD lines excellent at contesting caps and they misuse them to go around the map border in an attempt to snipe the enemy CV and so forth and so on. There is nothing left to encourage. Every change in their favor now just makes the game more and more braindead to play. -

I care about what can be done to improve average player skill, not about my stats. Seems like you've missed the point of this thread entirely. -

I ask again. You think I would care because..? -

El2aZeR replied to SeaWolf7's topic in General Discussion
And your point is? Most PvP games punish bad behavior hard, usually with instant unrewarding death or loss. WoWs on the other hand encourages bad behavior by putting most of its economical rewards on damage regardless of whether the team wins or not. Thus punishing bad play with a bad economy would be the first step to rehabilitating average player skill. And you believe I care because...? -

Just double the service costs for worthless players then. Most of them will never know what service costs are anyway. How to determine they are worthless? By overall statistics and by gathering match information such as positioning, percentage of damage dealt and spotting/tanking damage. -
Personally I believe it was actually not a bad move at all regarding balance. This gives both IJN and USN near equal footing in terms of air control as they both have ways to outplay each other. Yes, in strike potential and flexibility USN still gets left behind, but one would hope that will get addressed afterwards. Ofc if they only weaken USN fighters while doing nothing else then that's stupid as all out.
-
No worries, it's a bug. You'll find that it's impossible to complete "reset missions" as they won't register progress.
-
It's not all that bad imo. You still win click fights and head on strafes easily against IJN fighters. They even remain quite effective after taking 1-2 losses. Just be a little bit more careful around enemy AA support. Apparently I'm killing almost 40 planes per match on average with them, which makes Essex my second highest rated ship in this category after Saipan. I certainly am not feeling the handicap.
