    Revert CV's rework : poll

Moving goalposts, aren't we? Last I checked some damage is a lot better than no damage, as such your comparison falls completely apart.

    Revert CV's rework : poll

If you are unable to push through multiple attacks in the rework then in RTS you would not have been able to push through any attacks at all since in RTS AA was much more powerful. Thus reworked CVs still deal more damage in such a situation.

Even something like a Fletcher could easily ruin your day if it was AA spec. Case and point: On a different note, I am truly honored to continuously receive @Beastofwar rage.

Honestly no you cannot due to mirroring. That means you can only compare the performance of a ship within its own class and even then it isn't conclusive due to possible differences in playerbase distribution as well as ease of play. For WR to be remotely comparable between classes you'd need asymmetric MM, aka for example a team with cruisers against a team without cruisers and so forth and so on. 2 basic examples demonstrating that even comparing within a class doesn't yield anything conclusive using CVs (since these are the ones that immediately came to my mind): Midway is the most powerful T10 CV right now, but it has terrible averages because it is also the most popular and thus has the most potatoes playing it. Compare that to FDR which is a somewhat mediocre CV yet has far superior stats simply because of the way it is distributed, meaning on average a FDR player is just more skilled. In addition to that FDR is also much easier to play so potatoes will usually perform better in it than in Midway, skewing averages even further. Popularity is also the same reason why Lexington performs worse in averages than Implacable despite the latter usually being considered one of, if not the worst T8 CV in the game while the former is one of the best T8 CVs in the game.

    Revert CV's rework : poll

As I already stated, Saipan is the exception. It's also the reason why it is one of the least popular ships in the entire game. Exceptions however do not prove the rule. Friesland doesn't have torpedoes, doesn't mean all other DDs do not either. Which, again, is massively in favor of the rework compared to RTS where you'd be permanently deplaned for the rest of the game instead of just running around with reduced damage potential. As such it naturally skews power in favor of CVs, vastly diminishes punishment for poor play and reduces effectiveness of supposed counterplay. Even worse, AA power has been reduced to such a scale that reserve management is not only unnecessary but a mistake if you know how to reliably evade flak.

Do tell, since when do rockets not count as viable strike wings? They're perhaps ineffective against that particular target but by no means does it mean you ran out of viable strike wings. I thus rest my case.

    Revert CV's rework : poll

The main difference between RTS and rework in spotting is that RTS spotting could be reliably denied by both the enemy CV and surface ships. RTS were also only the superior global spotters, reworked CVs have far more oppressive local spotting by virtue of a faster cycle time and faster planes. That doesn't mean spotting was nerfed, it was traded off. Even base AA was capable of completely wiping out strikes before they could drop depending on specialization, DFAA was not necessarily needed. DFAA meanwhile gave ships with bad AA a chance to survive an air strike with minimal to no damage while making wiping out entire strikes a trivial matter for strong AA ships, that is no longer the case with either. In terms of damage reworked CVs are equal or superior to RTS ones. There is no target that a RTS CV kills faster than a reworked one. To exceed the damage potential of reworked CVs RTS ones actually need to get 2 kills per strike which was an unlikely but not impossible prospect. That you no longer oneshot anything is irrelevant as the only difference in damage taken over time and kill speed is whether you get a shiny dev strike badge or not. In addition to that reworked CVs are far more flexible in their damage output, again courtesy of a faster strike cycle. The only way alpha trumps multiple attacks in the same timeframe is in denying healing potential which given the current damage output of reworked CVs is trivial at best. Pincer attacks could be quite easily defused by turning into one squadron and making AA focus the other, assuming your AA wasn't completely garbage this resulted in minimal to no damage taken. Pincer attacks with TBs can still be pulled off quite easily in the rework as the initial attack automatically sets you up for a follow up and this can no longer be denied. This makes reworked CVs actually impossible to dodge and dependent solely on the ability of the CV player. Anything that isn't TBs either doesn't care about maneuvering in case of rockets as it is a RNGfest anyway or can just follow your turn and get a perfect angle without accuracy loss regardless in terms of DBs (Hakuryu being the sole exception that cannot do this). Frankly I have never seen even horrendously bad CV players run out of viable strike wings since 0.8.7 as is intended. So either that is not true or it takes a horrendously long time to the point of irrelevance anyway. Regardless reworked reserves far exceed that of RTS CVs and in combination with far weaker AA and air opposition can only mean less punishment for CVs with terrible decision making (sole exception to this is Saipan). Thus I do not see how reworked CVs are better. They're either the same or worse in every way you described.

    General CV related discussions.

That is correct. After all even abhorrently bad CV players such as Gibbins can get ~60% WR in CVs. The simple truth is even just knowing, not even mastering the basics will get you that far. Just like back in RTS where simply knowing how to manual drop and strafe would make you a unicum easily, but it didn't make you a skilled CV player.

On a more serious note, this is probably a bot. Would also explain why he is almost above average.

    Revert CV's rework : poll

Indeed. After all it would be highly unbalanced in the eyes of someone who has found sudden success with the rework if surface ships could actually defend themselves, no?

    FLAMU IS FREEEEEE

Ah, you mean with the old reticle? Who knows then, depends on the rest of the kit. Last I checked FDR isn't part of the US tech tree line.
  13. El2aZeR

    FLAMU IS FREEEEEE

Then that will likely not be a premium CV worth buying? I fail to see the point. The CV line with generally the slowest planes is the US one. Last I checked the US line is one of, if not the best CV line in the game. No, Saipan is not bad, it is unpopular because it actually requires skill to play. BBs, cruisers and DDs are generally balanced around the top spectrum. CVs are the only ones that aren't because the history of the rework shows that doing so will inevitably and unsurprisingly kill it off. And as Flamu has stated in his newest video, WG cannot allow the CV rework to fail in population no matter how big of a failure it actually is.

    FLAMU IS FREEEEEE

Ah, I missed the edit. The difference in the battle influence chart between DDs and CVs is about the same as between cruisers/BBs and DDs. Your idea of "broadly comparable" is thus too lax to be worth anything quite frankly. More like you're rejecting all new information merely on the basis that it doesn't fit your narrative. MvR was overperforming to begin with. Saipan has been down the gutter since forever. The rocket reticle adjustment has actually only truly affected 2 CVs. One is Saipan which again has been dead for much longer than that. The other is Midway which is the top T10 CV and hasn't cared much. Which ones are those supposed to be? If you are being sniped from long range in a CV it is your own fault both pre and post captain rework.
  15. El2aZeR

    FLAMU IS FREEEEEE

Except that isn't the case. The solo WR ceiling for cruisers, DDs and BBs are all around 75%. Only CVs are the outlier. You haven't answered my question btw.
  16. El2aZeR

    FLAMU IS FREEEEEE

And yet ironically a much more accurate metric for battle influence than what WG came up with. I meant your assertion in which the chart shows that DDs are supposedly less influential yet at the same time equally as influential as CVs which naturally contradicts itself. What is it?
  17. El2aZeR

    FLAMU IS FREEEEEE

Which isn't going to happen because WoWs is a monopoly without any real competitors, as such WG can essentially do whatever they want as there is no way around this game if you would like to play a game in this particular genre. Which I suppose is why the solo WR ceiling of CVs is and always has been so much higher than that of DDs? Besides, you are contradicting yourself. The (already highly flawed) chart shows that DDs are less influential than CVs, you say that this is due to their low survival rate and if they had a better one they'd be higher on the chart, aka equal to CVs. You immediately follow that up with DDs and CVs being equal even with the lower survival rate of DDs which according to the chart is not the case. What is it now?
  18. El2aZeR

    FLAMU IS FREEEEEE

Battle influence chart hasn't changed, they've had it even prior to the rework. In fact there is a far more detailed breakdown of it floating around somewhere showing how exactly the values are weighted. Besides, the CV rework isn't the only time WG "balanced" around popularity rather than actual balance. Remember this?

    FINALLY! WG fixed AA!

Does it though? According to some WoWs apparently lives off of churn, that cannot happen if people actually stay around. Ofc no one but WG but WG has the numbers on that, thus nothing conclusive can be drawn even from active player numbers.

    FINALLY! WG fixed AA!

Ironically saying that Zoup has a point also invalidates his point. Since, you know, nobody knows the mood of the silent majority, thus any conclusions drawn is conjecture. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    General CV related discussions.

Target priority is independent of AA strength unlike back in RTS. Because in the end the likelihood of you ending up deplaned is practically nonexistent in the AA environment nowadays anyway regardless of how many planes you sacrifice to kill a single ship.
