    Because clearly I cannot dodge strafes right now with barely any visual indicator. Oh wait. You do realize you literally cannot start a strafe so close to the enemy that gives him no time to react? If you get caught out unaware then you deserve to lose all your planes in a single swipe.

    Very true. Which is why I'm not saying Lex is fine. She is most definitely not and needs further loadout adjustment, but she's workable in her current state. (Funnily enough Lexington is actually one of my best performing ships statistics-wise for whatever reason, being equal in terms of damage dealt with Haku, Midway and Taiho while surpassing them all in WR. No idea why, really. I certainly didn't enjoy playing her even though making BBabies cry with lol AP bombs is hilarious.)

    The point is that if he wants to strike he's going to have to sacrifice fighters because your own fighter is close. This applies to the dumbest potato up to the most amazing unicum, because it is a reality of CV play that cannot be overcome with skill. If he wants to strafe fight you over allied AA, then go oblige him and watch him lose all his fighters. If he doesn't, you have created a situation in which you have achieved air parity despite vastly superior opposition. Either way you win, he loses.

    Mikasa op, pls nerf. On a more serious note, now ofc comes the question whether or not it would harm BB gameplay too much if you were to raise their concealment by 1km or so to make them outspot fewer cruisers. I reckon that it won't.

    You play incredibly defensive. Try to predict where and when your enemy is going to strike, be more proactive with scouting and make it clear to the enemy that if he wants to strike anything he is going to lose all his fighters for it. Then go strike something yourself while your enemy is occupied with losing all his fighters. And ofc never strike anything if it requires you to sacrifice your fighters.

    Well, if this is your goal then it is impossible to achieve anyway. Though weirdly enough I don't see you advocating for massive BB buffs because they have so little match influence compared to other classes. Give strafing a better visual indicator for when it happens. E.g. make the enemy fighter icon light up or something like that. Also fix the UI so the fighter icon shows the actual position of the fighters and is not averaged from the models. Dodging strafes isn't particularly micro intensive. All it requires you to do is literally make one click and that's it. The change however would remove a lot of second guessing and give you a clear sign of what is about to happen. If you then still cannot dodge strafes it'd be 100% your own fault.

    I got disconnected just after locking in a drop. Reconnected to find myself with a kill and more damage I thought I would get. Turns out the guy I dropped got disconnected as well, then flooded to death. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    This is off topic, but wouldn't you get a better ping if you go for the Asian server instead? Or do you not wanna deal with weebs? :D Heck, that you're only getting a ping of 179 is pretty impressive imo.
  11. ...I don't see why? Rewards are already calculated by percentage of damage dealt, with a kill rewarding a flat 15% (which is imo fair as securing a kill can be important). Thus the player who does most of the work killing off a target is rewarded accordingly, while the guy who secured the kill gets only a small consolation price. Unless you really want that red ribbon (or Kraken I suppose) killstealing does literally nothing to hinder you. You will still have gotten the rewards you are entitled to even if someone else got the kill. I second that the reward system needs overhaul, though.

    What many people forget is that strafing was actually a most welcome solution to a big problem, namely that fighters were completely, utterly worthless as air denial tools. Even with the rework I don't see how strafing can be removed unless replaced by an equally dominant mechanic (or the gameplay concept is thrown completely on its head). Although judging by their most recent comments WG seems to want to make CVs a reliable and potent damage dealing class, which is completely contradictory to the current design.

    Fire resistance is tier, not ship based. You catch fires equally well in an Iowa as you would in an Alsace etc. etc. etc.

    With the 155mm guns you usually need to get within ~8km for AP to be able to score citadels against broadsiding targets in a reliable fashion. The 203mm ones have a bit more leeway in that regard, but are also unreliable at greater ranges.

    Couple weeks ago. Still the most accurate BB I've played, but also the most boring (hence why I don't play her all that much). Damage saturation plays no part, the aft section of a e.g. Conqueror needs more than 80k damage to become saturated. The effect of both camo and the stealth module are so minuscule it barely even matters. No idea what you're referring to with bounces, just shoot the bow of a ship and get 10-20k damage every time.

    On the contrary this will place further importance on fighter micro as you only have one of them. Smoke is to deny vision, thus a partial counter to CVs. They must not be able to counter what is supposed to counter them. Yeah, no. This would be a noob trap of the highest order. As soon as the CV is spotted (which is inevitable when the CV opens fire or the enemy decides to contest) he'll be focused down into oblivion. No it won't. Bad players will keep wasting their planes on high AA targets, thus making the amount of reserves completely irrelevant. This would be a change that benefits only the higher skill levels. CV play is already team based. Inherently a CV can do nothing but spot and defend your team from air strikes, if you want to deal damage either the enemy team has to severely misplay or your own team opens up a potential target for you.
  19. Oh, really? Let me break it down for you then. This will mean a substantial nerf for spotting ability, the most influential tool a CV currently has, relieving CVs of their current teamplay ability and encouraging selfish play. I guess in a remote sense this will also make CVs easier to play and will quite possibly push DDs to the top in terms of game influence (I haven't seen you crying for DD nerfs btw despite your demands for equality). Hardly surprising considering all the comments WG has made on it. Making CVs easier to play. Nothing new here either. Narrowing down this gap means a CV will be able to strike you no matter how much AA you stack. This will be further exacerbated by the fact that CVs will lose their only inherent ability (aka spotting), so the one thing CVs have left is damage dealing, thus it needs ludicrous buffs. Also largely in line with comments WG has made on it. So that translates into a substantial buff to plane survivability (or nerf to all AA capabilities with very few exceptions) and alpha strike. This is just flowery language that is contradictory to everything else above. But sure, cling to your beliefs. I'm just telling you what's going to happen if WG tries to "fix" all the problems they have identified. Just precisely what you wished for with all your whining. Don't come crying when it actually happens.
  20. This is funny because if they intend to solve the problems listed above it'll make CVs even more powerful than they are now as they essentially want to turn CVs into a damage oriented class rather than a team support one. And no, currently CVs are not a damage oriented class.

    1/1/2 is workable. You're pretty much on the defensive the entire time and she does need further loadout adjustment, but if you play in an intelligent manner you can outfight your enemy regardless of what CV he plays.

    Apparently WG is now actively trying to punish high APM by making Mouse 1 become stuck. Happened in the game as well but I could at least unstick it by selecting a different squad via num keys. That isn't exactly an option after the battle has ended however.

I mean, I do believe testing something like this would be more than worthwhile (regardless of the massive rebalancing effort it would entail not only to CVs, but to the entire game), but considering the ludicrous incompetence of the average player I highly doubt WG will move anywhere close to this direction.

    Well, it's on the official wiki even. http://wiki.wargaming.net/en/Ship:Detonation Can't find the recent post but I remember it saying that CVs don't have magazines assigned to them in this game (yes, this is unrealistic), thus cannot be detonated.
