    Stick close to your friendly neighborhood AA cruiser. Please note that due to the rarity of CVs atm cruisers will rarely bother with taking AA skills/upgrades and/or DFAA. Also BB overpopulation has driven the few AA cruisers that are still around into a fairly passive playstyle. Alternatively your own CV can shut down a GZ easily unless he's also playing one or a Lexington. Or he's just incompetent.

    27mm * 14,3 = 386,1mm gun caliber required to overmatch. Cruisers that have 27mm armor in T6-8 MM bracket: Hipper/Eugen Hipper & Eugen op, pls nerf.

    Theory is all well and good but a lot of aspects in CV play only come with actual experience in randoms. If you have any questions, feel free to ask here or in the CV section. Though really, knowing how to strafe, manual drop and cross drop along with some basic knowledge about target selection is enough to catapult yourself into unicum territory because almost everyone else that is playing this game is beyond terrible.

    We took 2 caps, you took 1 cap back late and eventually lost your spawn cap. 2-3 to 1 advantage. It's not that hard. And regardless of your div composition, you still camped like no tomorrow, thus didn't deserve to have even the most remote chance of winning. Well, gotta wait a little longer for my download of the old client to finish. Can't wait to record this replay. :)
  6. T6 has bad MM, with CVs suffering from being down tiered a lot harder than any other class. CV captains will usually play T6 CVs only for the grind and then never touch them again, although that has little to do with the CVs themselves. They're actually pretty good for their tier. Some MM adjustments to help them (and balance in general) out would be enough. Can't say I share your observations about T7/8. I mean, yeah, okay, USN CVs are still terrible but the standard of balance are and always have been IJN CVs. And they're doing just fine.

    If I may quote someone from reddit: KC also had quite the unique setting back then and enjoyed a monopoly on it. In fact, it was basically the only popular "ww2 online warship game" still around with WoWs still in development and NavyField falling off the face of the earth. And ofc the community around KC creating a load of fan material. I bet a lot of KC fans have never even played the game. Plus KC has quite the good soundtrack and if Touhou has taught us anything, it's that a good soundtrack alone can be grounds for massive popularity.

    Well, this is precisely where we're heading right now. GZ has next to no spotting potential (all squads need to be used for other roles and are flimsy as all out), no air control (when all CVs have no capability to contest the air anymore CV play becomes more noob friendly), no teamplay capability (since no air control and no spotting) and gives massive amounts of damage for little interaction (= easier to play). GZ addresses literally everything they've said that is wrong with CVs.

    Aww, "turning the match"? Don't you get it yet? You didn't turn anything. The match was decided in the opening minutes when your teams refused to take any caps and your nice cruiser div left one flank for dead. Literally the only reason you were able to get anything done at all is because my team got greedy instead of playing it safe. You weren't carrying. Your were being a liability from the moment you entered the match. I didn't say you should stick with the blob of BBabies that camps all the way in the back (which is precisely what you did in both games, I certainly didn't even see you or your buddies leaving spawn except for the guy in the DM that got pretty much killed immediately by being out of position). I'm saying you should've stuck with the BBs that actually pushed. Then again if you had done so we probably wouldn't have this conversation in the first place. It's not my fault your DDs were dumb enough to present themselves on a silver platter, nor is it my fault that you didn't make any effort to cover them despite plenty of island cover being available. And yes, your damage dealt still means nothing. A DD with 1k HP is still just as dangerous as one with full. Besides, by the time you got any meaningful damage in the game was already decided by virtue of caps alone. As for the CV rework, it's nice to see you take everything at face value again. Anyone who can read between the lines will see that CV alpha strike is going to increase as a trade off for the loss of spotting potential. Do you even know what WGs most recent statement about high tier CVs was? That they are too weak. Something I do not agree with but hey, whatever floats their boat.
  12. Click this: You'll get Mikuma at 5k, 15k, 80k and 90k. Also Akatsuki at 25k. Total amount of how much currency you earned counts, you can spend freely in the shop without having to worry. Though really, I've been playing as much as my fuel allows and so far I've only earned ~7k. Anything above ~25k strikes me as thoroughly unrealistic to achieve unless you invest a ton of money.

    I regard spotters as a fairly soft counter to RN CLs as moving around in your smoke will defeat it unless you draw the anger of RNGesus upon you. True counters in my book are radar and (if you catch her alone) high tier CVs. Neither is particularly prevalent in T7. Personally I'd favor making strafing out deal no damage as a nerf to the Saipan. As for Belfast, putting radar and hydro in one slot should do the trick.

    Four possibilities exist here: 1. WG does nothing but implement captains with respective VA lines. Effort on WG's part is practically non-existant, AL devs will have to do most of the work. 2. WG implements special camos along with the aforementioned stuff. Effort on WG's part is still fairly minor, new textures that blend over old ones aren't that hard to create especially if you have a decent reference. 3. WG implements entirely new ships along with the aforementioned stuff. Effort on WG's part becomes rather big, BUT new ships made equals work done for any new line they have sitting on the horizon. 4. New operation to go along with everything. This is the only scenario in which resources will "go to waste" so to speak. So unless WG goes completely overkill on the collab an insignificant amount of development time will be used OR you'll even see new ships implemented as you're wishing for. For the most part this is a win-win scenario regardless of whether or not you like anime stuff.

    Belfast counters are rare at her tier, any CV can counter a Saipan trying to abuse strafing mechanics. Ranger is an entirely different issue (as are Lexington and Essex). Unless you take the nerfhammer to the Saipan really, REALLY hard Ranger will never be equal to Saipan. The standard of CV balance have always been IJN CVs. Not saying that Saipan shouldn't get nerfed, but the nerf doesn't have to be as harsh as many people are demanding. Fixing the UI alone would hit Saipan tremendously hard as counterstrafing and strafe dodging will (hopefully) become 100% reliable. Beyond being able to strafe out for free Saipan doesn't have a lot going for her, before strafing out was a thing Saipan could easily get murdered by Hiryu.

    Saipan has her counters, but they're notoriously unreliable because of the UI. If they'd simply fix the UI Saipan would be fine.

    Meh, that's hardly the most scandalous stuff ever. Perhaps I just have lower standards because AniMuh has already ruined me. On a more serious note, I'm definitely not a fan of lolis, but such people exist, thus there exists a market. Inclusion of them in games like these is almost inevitable, really. Besides, don't we already have loli captains as part of the ARP collab? It'd be nothing new.

    She's still the most pathetic CV ever. If you play against her competently in your own CV (that is not Lexington) that is. GZ is designed to have literally no air control but stupid amounts of striking power.
