No, it isn't. You choose beforehand what currency to use when buying or equipping premium consumables, auto resupply will use that currency again if you run out. It is literally impossible to accidentally spend doubloons on premium consumables. If auto resupply uses doubloons to buy premium consumables, YOU have set it that way.

Carrier Rework and the artificial fog around it

Except what they've shown so far isn't a nerf at all. It's shifting the focus from scouting to pure damage dealing. And quite frankly why should a CV care about scouting when they can just blow any ship out of the water regardless of the situation? -

This is quite honestly hilarious. If you just watch some of the old dev videos you'll see that WG built CVs to be the primary scouter of the game. They apparently even had dedicated scout planes at one point. Which is why the introduction of both hydro and radar was an incredibly stupid thing to do. And now that we have an oversaturation of scouting mechanics suddenly CVs are the problem. Go figure. Have seen this coming from miles away. But hey, I'm a skilled CV player, in their eyes my opinion doesn't matter anyway. -

D'aww. *police sirens* The P90 is way out of place, though. Also server transfer request is now available. Perhaps we should all apply to transfer to the same server? (Not guaranteed, though. Players will get picked at random.) -
Makes you wonder how many fellow weebs there are in the whole dev team.

Grown pretty fond of AL Washington recently. Dunno why. -
....Are you in need of assistance of some kind? Or did you just consume too much alcohol?

Yeah, I really don't see that working out either.

Don't need to imagine it when we've been given a clear description of how it'll work by the developer. It's actively piloting a squad of aircraft, that alone is enough to know it'll make a hybrid cruiser completely worthless. If you introduce any passive mechanics it will make CV play more demanding than it is now. Basic example of a strike with a mixed system: Yes, but that is precisely why a hybrid ship is unfeasible unless it has long cooldowns and sufficient survivability. You basically need to be doing two things at the same time which is impossible unless you possess ludicrous multitasking skills. Active piloting may work with CVs because they can afford for their hull to be sitting passively in the back. Doing the same in a hybrid ship however is just utterly wasted potential unless ofc said planes are powerful enough to make up the difference, which would be utterly broken. Which kinda describes where CVs want to be right now? I mean sure, you could stay at the map border or behind islands all the time but that hurts your strike efficiency. Assuming your hybrid ship doesn't have godlike levels of concealment, just take a look at where skilled CV players are positioning themselves. That's where you'll end up in a hybrid ship. And it's far, far removed from any action or opportunity to use your main battery.
-
Assuming that planes are going to have a certain turning radius and cannot just turn on a dime, that's several seconds during which your ship is going to be a sitting duck. So either you have to let them get all killed or you'll pick a safe spot in which you can comfortably pilot your planes without needing to worry about your ship. Except that just makes you a worse CV. Ironically hybrid cruisers would work just fine with the current RTS style gameplay as it'd be less demanding than having to actively piloting your aircraft. So even in terms of ease of play the new concept fails hilariously.
-
A cruiser such as Tone has a reload of approx. 10 to 15 seconds and you also need to constantly WASD to avoid getting killed by the mass of BBs that are inevitably all shooting at you. Switching to a plane in the middle of a firefight is going to be a death sentence. I guess it could work with Ise/Hyuuga as reload times are long enough and they have sufficient armor to not need constant application of WASD but do you really want to see a BB that has planes in addition to every advantage as a BB? I mean really? If hybrid ships are going to get introduced this way the cruisers may as well be worse CVs with no incentive to buy or play them, while hybrid BBs will possibly be overpowered. Regardless of their intent, I don't see the concept of actively flying planes working out in any way. Not for CVs, not for surface ships and certainly not for hybrid ships. Especially if you consider that AA will have to be toned down dramatically for this to even work. This'll make CVs the only class purely focused on damage and nothing else, with only the barest minimum of teamplay potential that such a concept naturally gives. Aka they'll be a griefer class that has no place in a team based game. Well, there's your problem.

Except that with how they plan on changing CVs they'll be even more stationary. Flying planes will be an active job that won't allow multitasking unlike the current RTS gameplay. No, it honestly doesn't. The moment you try to fly a plane you'll have to put your hybrid ship in a safe position as it'll require active input. To make it worth giving up control of your ship planes would also have to be incredibly powerful. Quite frankly I cannot see this concept working out in any way.

-20% plane service time for Confederate is gonna be incredibly powerful if you put Halsey on a Saipan or Enterprise. (Or Midway if you're still brave/stupid enough to play her after the next patch.) And getting Confederate isn't particularly difficult in those CVs nowadays with all those braindead players sailing around. In an Enterprise it basically takes you two successful strikes assuming you have a couple of targets that are vulnerable to AP bombs. Which creates a dilemma for me because I want to be a total weeb put Azur Lane Enterprise on, well, Enterprise. >_<- 22 replies

Fair point actually.

How so? Balti is coated in 27mm armor which means the slightest graze from BB guns is going to cause ludicrous damage except when you meet one that has 380mm guns. DM at least has a 30mm deck to bounce 406mm shells. Don't get me wrong, I liked the Balti very much, but I wouldn't describe her as durable.
-
Meh, called the CV changes. What's gonna be hilarious about them though is that AA now has to be weak enough for a single squadron to be capable of penetrating the AA defenses of multiple ships. Yeah, somehow I can't see that working out all too well.
-
The sad truth about bots is that they're better than a good chunk of the playerbase.
-
Yes, just like the enemy team has to play with each other to defend themselves against YOU. That's part of what makes CVs balanced. AA ships exist to ruin your fun. It's the nature of any PvP game. Personal enjoyment takes a far backseat and is largely irrelevant when it comes to balance.
-
Jesus, no. If CVs were primarily 1vs1 AA divs wouldn't be an issue, wouldn't they? Just because your enemy is actually getting support due to him being in a division whereas your teammates completely ignore you doesn't mean it's unfair. It means the enemy team is better than yours, thus you deserve to lose.
-
With a total of eight fighters tangling it up and potential long range AA support that's gonna be rather situational. Keeping stuff spotted isn't nearly as easy when the enemy team actually knows what they're doing. CB CV play would most likely be incredibly passive, with no strikes at all flown and spotting coming in short "bursts" when a CV decides to sacrifice planes which aren't going to last particularly long considering the potency of high tier AA. Oh, I agree. Imo any format below 9v9 is incapable of sustaining the presence of CVs in their current form as the number of players is simply too low. Can't be helped, it's the way they're designed. However CVs would work in CBs if you were to allow enough players to participate. One only needs to look at competitive to see a working example. I've never seen a competitive match in which the CV player was the biggest deciding factor, but neither can it be denied that the spotting role that CVs occupy is tremendously important. Which makes them perfectly fine for such an environment. Really, the only thing standing in the way of such a change is the scarcity of skilled, high tier CV players. Which is a perfectly legitimate reason btw. I'm not advocating for such a change, personally I couldn't care less as I'm not particularly interested in playing CBs in general, but it would be a viable way to introduce CVs into CBs in their current state.
-
Well, to be fair a non AA build cruiser in a CV game in randoms is of rather debatable value as well. Which is why the option to specialize into AA in itself is stupid. Not really. What it would actually do is limit the amount of viable DDs you can pick. Any non-DFAA DD would be of questionable value. That said a Grozovoi or Gearing would work perfectly fine. The former just wipes out entire strikes by herself in randoms already, the latter will do the same in the context of competitive play (remember that people will be playing 4/2/2 Haku, you'll only need to kill 2 TB squads if one commits to an attack). On the flipside it may make Minotaur a viable pick as she can prevent spotting for both herself and her teammates. Also CVs will actually fight for spotting and air control for a long time unlike in randoms, that one can simply scout freely is rather doubtful. By the time one secures air superiority the game will most likely already be decided. Though really, it's pretty much impossible to balance for both randoms and CBs at the same time, it's inevitable that some ships fall to the wayside as is already the case. Which is another reason I'm rather skeptical of the CV rework to say the least. If WG makes them a pure alpha strike class, as they're most likely intending to, they'll be an even worse fit for CBs.

Guys, please. You're missing the real issue here. What about the fact that he's named Sub_Octavian when there are no subs in the game?! Such a tease. Simply outrageous! Utterly outrageous!!

The good news just keep coming. :D Don't particularly like Roon. The girl's fine, but the rigging just looks weird. The rest are top notch tho. -
Couldn't care less about divs tbh (and I'm primarily a solo player). If they display better teamplay, why shouldn't they win? And if they're better than your team, how is it unfair that you lose? Teamplay is far too rare nowadays as it is. Last thing we need is to cull it even further.
