  1. Take whatever you like except for a CVL as it gives a high chance of routing through K node, with L node having a very high chance to off route you to M if you have a DD in your fleet (which you gotta have for the quest obviously). If you get routed to B node however it's better to just retreat. Routing to F node is the best as it guarantees a boss fight, but it's random. Personally I just used Zuihou (as I totally forgot about the L node routing) and Shokaku as I am leveling them anyway. Had Yamashiro K2 tag along. For the CL I used Abukuma K2 for the opening torp attack, though since you don't have her I'd go with Kitakami K2 instead.

Carrier Rework and the artificial fog around it

Dunno, considering the amount of cruisers running around in T10 without DFAA nor AA skills I'm kinda tempted tbh.
  3. I don't know whether to laugh or to cry.
  4. 40 plane kills for surface ships is way too many. Would've preferred them to revert it to 30, 35 at most. 55 for a CV isn't exactly a cakewalk either unless your enemy is completely . I would reduced it to ~45.
  5. I, uhh, didn't totally rush through the anniversary missions. *insert obligatory rush B cyka blyat joke here*

Considering you can ignore the DBs that's 3 direction you can attack from at most. And if some TBs do make it through (which is already extremely unlikely) DFAA will ensure that you get hit by at most 1, maybe two torps unless you up tremendously. Unless you previously got hit by RN BB HE shells, which will pretty much destroy all but your long range AA guns. But hey, CVs certainly didn't ask for RN BB HE to be this broken. *while being mostly worthless against BBs. Is perfect sense comrade!

Because clearly there is so much you can do with skill against a PASSIVE mechanic. Literally the only thing you can do is hope he uses DFAA early (which to be fair has a high chance of occurring because the average player is braindead), lose half your planes instead of all your planes, then attack after DFAA runs out in hopes that RNGesus will be kind. And ofc if he isn't stupid enough to use DFAA instantly you'll lose all your planes by default. Clearly so much skill involved here.

CV Matchmaking question - The usual rules

Honestly, CVs should be limited to one per game across the board. There is no appeal in two CVs per side neither for CV players nor for anyone else.
  11. Got a match today in which the client stayed in the pre-battle screen despite having finished loading ages ago. Had to restart to fix it.

    doubloon theft - autospending

Quite possibly, yes. Then again I believe the downward pointing arrow to be quite an intuitive option in the first place considering it is the standard symbol for a drop down menu when placed in context. Since you believe differently I'm sure our opinions will diverge here as well.

    Graff Zeppelin WHEN ?

Three month period ban from sale after testing to compensate previous owners for the ups WG has committed in regards to the GZ. As for performance. she's still worthless. Against a skilled CV player playing something other than Lexington anyway. Against everything else she's the most undemanding CV to date. Just click for massive damage.

    doubloon theft - autospending

Yes, but that violates one of the golden principles in programming: If it ain't broke, don't change it. (Anyone who has had even just remote experience in programming knows that a change in one part can cause problems in completely unrelated sections. Like seriously, one time I had the exact same code as my buddy in class and I couldn't compile while he could for reasons that I still don't know.) Now that it is perceived as broken, sure, change it. But to spin some tale about WG scamming people when there are this many clear cut indicators is ludicrous.

    doubloon theft - autospending

There is currency displayed right next to it. The logical assumption would be that it would allow you to change what currency you want to use. Is it the best solution? No, but it's a workable one. I actually remember quite well because I didn't even know you could change consumables. When I found out however it was impossible to not notice the arrow nor to somehow misinterpret its purpose.

I'm not against this change. But to say that WG is scamming people when there are this many redundancies is just completely ludicrous. And quite frankly imo the downward pointing arrow is quite intuitive in what it is supposed to do. You could make it a bit bigger maybe but that's it.

Carrier Rework and the artificial fog around it

    1. I have an extensive background in playing RTS games in a successful manner, including perhaps the most demanding of them all: StarCraft. This means I naturally adapt well to the way CVs play. In fact, compared to most competitive RTS games CV play in its current form is utterly undemanding. I can comfortably play both KanColle and AzurLane in the background while playing CVs. At the same time. And I do it every time I play CVs. 2. I play for the benefit of my team. I'm also often the only one out of 24 players in the match who does this. As the only teamplayer in a TEAM game this will naturally yield me a high WR regardless of class. 3. CVs are currently the most influential class due to their ability to spot. This is not up for debate. What makes them influential beyond their inherent design however is that the average player is completely braindead, thus presents me with a target rich environment IN ADDITION to making me capable of shutting down my opponent and supporting my teammates with spotting information. 4. My overall stats are skewed in the way that in a CV line there are no downsides. Every CV is a direct upgrade from the previous one unlike with almost every other class or nation where you have at least one ship you won't be comfortable playing with. Naturally this means you only get more powerful as you progress in tiers, pulling similar or better results in every time. To make a reasonable comparison with any other class you'd need to eliminate every ship in said class I don't perform well in.

    Carrier fighters & straffing

, I totally missed this. You can use the alt key to strafe out of a click fight. As a compromise you will lose a fighter every time you strafe out (sole exception is the Saipan which can strafe out for free). When the enemy strafes out, your fighters get "stunned". You can break out of that stun by issuing a move command and a MOVE command only. Attack commands do not work.

What else would you do? Put a notification every time you click the battle button with something along the lines of "Oi, you're about to spend ingame currency on premium consumables, are you sure you want to do this?". Because guess what, just defaulting them to silver wouldn't cut it, no? After all, someone could accidentally spend silver. There is something called overcompensating, especially when it comes to the UI. This is why you accept compromises when it comes to *edit proofing and actual functionality. When you buy premium consumables, it asks you specifically whether you want to spend currency. When you equip them, it tells you in a clear and concise manner what currency you're about to use. When you enable auto resupply, it also tells you what and how much currency will be spent. That's two to three levels of redundancy depending on whether you had them in stock or not. Thus there is literally no excuse when it comes to "accidentally" spending doubloons on them. On the other hand I shouldn't be surprised that this is too hard for the average (aka completely *edit) player to understand. Pretty sure that in the early days of CBT premium consumables used to be only available for doubloons. Could be wrong, though.

Carrier Rework and the artificial fog around it

It's just deriving information from the stuff we've already been told by WG. First you obviously have the Waterline episode where we get manual aircraft and AA control. With manual aircraft control of a single squadron that basically means spotting will no longer be a feasible thing to do. This ties in with CVs being too influential on a fight as spotting is obviously a very powerful ability. On the other hand, CV gameplay wouldn't be particularly fun if a ship could just kill your single squadron, no? With only one squadron being able to attack, that means said squadron MUST be able to attack. Anything else would make CVs completely useless. Manual AA on the other hand can be seen as a nerf to AA capability due to reasons I've already stated. Next we've had the recent Q&A, where among flowery (such as "making CV play less toxic"), we've been given crucial information such as AA being too extreme on both ends (either completely useless or complete no fly zone). And we all know how worthless "average" AA is. Then there's the skill gap being addressed. Obviously this means fighter mechanics will be simplified to the extreme as it is the primary cause of that. And finally we have fairly old statements in which WG wished to make single ships to not get completely demolished by CVs, but that groups should not be able to completely shut down a CV either. Considering the latter we can discard the former since if a group is incapable of denying a strike, neither will a single ship.

    doubloon theft - autospending

Except you're forgetting that there are multiple redundancies and clear indicators as I've mentioned above. You literally have to be blind to "accidentally" spend doubloons on premium consumables. At that point it's no longer the designer's fault, it's your own. Besides, premium consumables being defaulted to doubloons is most likely a leftover from times when premium consumables were only available for doubloons. The ability to buy them for silver didn't always exist. It doesn't, but that still leaves two out of three clear indicators that you're about to spend doubloons.
  23. Also Sammy B is apparently classified as a DD instead of a DE. Which kinda makes sense considering irl she was basically equivalent, if not better than the older DD classes in the game. Who needs torps when you have a couple 5"/38's?

Carrier Rework and the artificial fog around it

Oh, boy. Someone does not understand game design. Spoilered for length: Is this a nerf? In terms of game influence, maybe. Loss of spotting potential should not be taken lightly. On the other hand, as I stated before, why should I care about spotting when I'll just be able to blow whatever ship out of the water as I please?
  25. El2aZeR

    doubloon theft - autospending

Yes, but it literally asks you whether you want to spend doubloons (just like it does with silver) before making the purchase. Besides, in the upper left corner of the consumable window there is a clear indicator as to what currency will be spent. And when you enable auto resupply it will even tell you what currency will be spent resupplying. If you're too lazy to pay attention then that's your own fault. Now, could the default be silver? Sure. But to make it seem like WG is scamming people when it tells you several times in a very clear manner what currency will be used is hilarious at best. This is like making a purchase on Amazon and not paying attention to the price, then wondering why you had to spend money.
