PLANES STILL ALIVE AFTER CARRIER or SHIP IS DESTROYED

Quite frankly I fail to see how this is gamebreaking. Annoying, sure. Gamebreaking? Nah. -
Actually scratch my statement. Lyon is susceptible to citadel hits among vast amounts of overpens. Oneshots however are extremely unlikely due to the small size of her citadel. Don't be surprised to lose half your HP tho. Any other FR BB within USN AP bomb MM spread only takes over-/pens, bounces or shatters. Bayern can actually take citadels but it's an extremely rare occurrence. Killing two with only DBs got me 77 hits (mostly overpens) and 4 citadels. If you're sailing a Bayern you can practically consider yourself immune. Just did a test in the training room to make sure I'm not spouting bs. Tested using Midway and the super accurate USN tech tree manual drop, Enterprise will have quite a bit more trouble as her drop circle is much bigger. Wish WG would change that.

Will you guys get Soviet Tier IX cruiser "Kronshtadt" for 750,000 Free XP after WoWs update 0.7.5 ?

Hinden has a deck of 30mm and a citadel roof of 45-60mm, neither of which is enough to touch off the fuse of USN AP bombs (required thickness is 70mm). Thus the only things that can arm them on the Hinden is the conning tower and the turrets, explaining the occasional citadel. As far as I can see Hinden doesn't seem to have a main armor deck that could arm the fuse for whatever reason. Bayern and French BBs are immune to USN AP bomb citadels.
-
And if I get one of your DDs who is actually doing something useful in return, I can live with that as well. In conclusion I believe we can say that while GZ isn't overpowered in the slightest, she's badly designed in the most hilarious fashion.
-
Eh? That's news to me and I use AP bombs quite extensively. In my experience USN AP bomb can score citadels against: - FdG - Bismarck/Tirpitz - Gneisenau/Scharnhorst - Nagato/Mutsu - Fuso - Queen Elizabeth/Warspite - Lyon (oneshots are unlikely) - Bayern (extremely rare) - all French CAs T7+ - all IJN cruisers T8+ - all T10 cruisers (Minotaur & Hindenburg take occasional citadels between a huge amount of overpens and a few pens. Oneshots theoretically can happen but are extremely unlikely) - Donskoi, Budy and Cleve (same as Mino/Hinden) As for the topic, yes, AP bombs are badly designed to say the least. Imo they shouldn't exist in the first place considering that the 1000lb HE bombs are plenty effective and only lack a skill based drop mechanic to make them work in a reliable fashion both for the CV and a potential target. EDIT: From current patchnotes: At least that relieves some of the guessing work you have to do.
-
Which in turn is kinda an inevitable scenario when a GZ chooses to click in my experience, aka a loss. Not even mentioning the hilariously lopsided effectiveness of the inevitable striking trade that's going to happen when fighters are busy. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
-
Neither can you considering WG has never released how HP and DPS are calculated into the AA formula. Now I'm questioning your ability to read. Unless you define "using Shokaku against a GZ" as a circumstance that will in the end inevitably win me superior game influence and air control ability.
-
I fail to see where.
-
Yes and I explained why. Yes and yes. Again in a parity scenario Shokaku has an overwhelming advantage. That puts pressure on the GZ to make something happen, a Shokaku is more than fine with letting air parity take its course. Thus 2/0/3 is completely, utterly worthless in every aspect of CV play. Sure, her bombs hurt if they get through but that's only if. Your target choices are laughably predictable. It's not terribly hard to never let a 2/0/3 GZ get an effective strike in during an entire match.
-
Well, we already know how the current prototype works thanks to an official dev video, making this one kinda moot especially considering you see no actual gameplay, thus no new information.
-
Inb4 stats don't matter and are not representative of true skill.
-
Not really. Air control goes far beyond just comparing HP and DPS. Also you have made the fundamental mistake of comparing total HP. Total HP is a meaningless stat as AA is calculated with individual plane HP. - Predictability plays a huge factor. 2/0/3 has an incredibly narrow selection of potential targets, which makes forcing a GZ to spend fighters just to get a strike through (if even that) not all that hard. - Shokaku can choose to sacrifice a wave to cause irreplacable losses to a GZ if she so desires and still have reserves to spare. If I lose all fighters but make a GZ limp home with only 2-4 remaining ones, that situation is actually to my advantage unless I misplay horribly. And ofc if I happen to win through the grace of RNG (or through hidden mechanics which in my experience seem to exist) I've essentially wiped out all opposing air cover. This is why GZ tends to lose clickfights even if she can walk away on the field. You cannot afford to try to win piecemeal. - More flexibility in my choice of targets means more air control as I can pull apart opposing air cover if I desire to. I also have more reliable alpha strike at my disposal against targets that have superior influence on a battle (aka DDs). - Shokaku can defend, scout and strike at the same time. GZ can do only defend + strike or defend + scout. Obviously Shokaku has the spotting advantage, while GZ falls even further behind as her scouting can be easily denied (since Shokaku no longer needs to defend when a GZ scouts and can happily go chasing after empty DBs). In a stalemate scenario (which fights between skilled CV players devolve into from time to time) Shokaku is so far ahead it's not even funny. Theoretically yes, GZ should have pretty okay air control potential playing 2/0/3 against a Shokaku when comparing only their fighters. When looking at the whole package however you're always at a disadvantage of some kind fighting for air control in a GZ unless your opponent misplays. That puts 2/0/3 GZ extremely far behind. Quite frankly I'd even argue that 1/2/1 has better air control potential as she has at least some advantages she can play to.
-
There is plenty of stuff that you cannot overcome in a CV regardless of how skilled you are due to the inherent limitations of the class. And yes, if you have an unskilled CV player on your side while the enemy has a GZ, then enemy team might have an advantage due to: - your own team most likely being incapable of dealing with CVs or the composition being ill suited for it - GZ having a far lower skill floor than any of her counterparts If you just address the former however the latter becomes a non-factor. As for how many CV players are truly skilled? I'd be surprised if the number surpasses 5%. Statistics are skewed when it comes to determining skill as the present circumstances allow CV players that only know how to strafe and manual drop (and barely anything beyond it) to reach unicum stats easily.
-
It doesn't make sense in general considering Neptune/Mino don't have enough penetration power even at point blank range to penetrate the conning tower of any BB found in their MM spread barring the RN ones and the Lyon.
-
Or, with just a slight meta shift, she could also be completely useless, as GZ is incapable of putting up a fight for air control for too long and has diminished scouting potential. But since the current ranked meta allows striking to play a huge role that ofc shifts the situation in favor of the GZ dramatically. CVs in general are incredibly dependent on the circumstances they have to play in, which is why skilled CV players are doing as well as they are at the moment.
-
Considering the random meta and average player skill? Quite honestly I would've been thoroughly surprised to see the GZ NOT doing well statistically despite being a hilariously handicapped ship.
-
No they aren't. You lose every clickfight, forcing you to strafe. That makes you predictable. I just need to dodge those strafes and you're ed. Considering the Ranked meta? No, it doesn't.
-
Just a quick Google search will provide you with plenty of videos and guides. Thus the problem isn't lack of material provided by the community. It's lack of (forced) guidance by the developer and either inability or unwillingness of the average player to learn from their mistakes ingame. Doesn't help that WG is actively catering to braindead play either.

Couple minutes later: WG pls give CVs more damage resistance. Apparently I need to go tanking in them.
