Lol no. Let me give you a breakdown of how MM worked back then: The tier numbers of the respective teams were added up then equalized against each other. That means extremely unbalanced results often occurred which were fine in the eyes of MM. Basic example: Team 1 T8 CV T8 BB T6 cruiser T7 DD Sum of tier numbers: 29 Team 2 T5 BB T5 BB T6 cruiser T8 cruiser T5 DD Sum of tier numbers: 29 Team 2 is obviously going to get absolutely demolished but this was considered balanced by MM.

Dunno what you're talking about. I'm having the time of my life even on a connection and setup.

Speculation: Operation gives clues about CV rework?
El2aZeR replied to Xevious_Red's topic in General Discussion
Accessibility isn't defined by how braindead a class is but by how the game introduces the player to the game mechanics he needs to learn and eventually master. Obviously CVs fail hard in that aspect as does WoWs in general. If disagreeing with you is hostile, sure. Ironic that you always want to trigger snowflakes yet are one yourself. -
Ah, yes, the golden days where CVs weren't mirrored, you could get +/-3 MM and faildivision a T1 ship into a T10 game were clearly better than what we have now. Good times.

Speculation: Operation gives clues about CV rework?
El2aZeR replied to Xevious_Red's topic in General Discussion
So I guess we should also remove torpedoes because most people don't have the patience nor the appetite to learn watching the minimap, looking at the clock and using WASD from time to time? Saying that bad players cannot be bothered to learn something is actually a reason to keep it as it promotes skilled and not braindead play. As for the money making aspect, partially true. CVs are getting reworked from the ground up because WG wants to release WoWs on consoles. Your reasoning however is ludicrously far off as already explained. -
Speculation: Operation gives clues about CV rework?
El2aZeR replied to Xevious_Red's topic in General Discussion
Except that it doesn't at all. A CV will still hide behind islands (if it even appears on the battlefield after the rework) because a spotted CV is a dead CV, meaning there will simply be no fighter cover for anyone else. Aka CVs will be free to farm damage because the average player will remain too stupid to deal with CVs, ironically making them into the griefing class everyone accuses them to be. -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
El2aZeR replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Uh... You mean the South Carolina, right? Or did I miss something? -
Probably yes considering what we know of the current prototype, but it would be an incredibly useless weapon as planes can literally outrun your turret traverse from miles away. Besides, I'd much prefer it if this doesn't make it into the game to prevent the countless border hugging BBabies from trying to snipe down planes with their main guns, making them even more worthless than they already are. Oh, it has. Just been a long time.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

Gotta dig deeper into -
That is not how game design works. That is literally the opposite of how game design works. You don't come up with something broken then decide to balance it later. If your inherent idea creates balancing problems it can never be resolved because you've made it to be that way. If a mechanic has no use then it doesn't belong in a game. Read somewhere that she actually downed half by exploding. I don't even know of a single instance in which Type 3 shells killed a plane. Also her escorts could've gotten their share of kills as well, putting Yama's record further down. Actually no, you would need to create entirely new engine infrastructure to implement a gimmick which, as already described, is either completely useless and unneeded or broken. Planes currently have no hitbox, so you'd need to create them for every plane. Planes have no HP that is deductable and cannot interact with ordinance fired at them. Planes cannot be manually targeted by main guns. All of this is new concept developed, new code written, new assets created, new builds for QA to test. Then comes the usual development cycle of rewrite, recreate and rebalance until you've got a finished product. You're essentially creating a new game from scratch on a smaller scale just like how the CV rework is being done now. So much time and effort wasted just to create an either useless or broken gimmick. Is that really the thing you want devs to spend time on? Afaik a lot of ships carried "AA" shells for their main battery. The USN just used HE shells with a time fuse, meaning they could just swap the fuse on a HE shell to create an AA shell. The IJN specifically developed their totally useless Type 3 shells for AA use which quite frankly wasn't worth the extra cost, effort and time spent. Just like this gimmick would be.

How exactly is this relevant to your point? Yamato is immune to USN AP bomb citadels while HE bombs always penetrate regardless of deck armor thickness. 50mm deck armor is also immune to all AP and cruiser/DD HE shells. I fail to see how the second best armor protection scheme when angled (after the Germans) can be considered bad.

How about this to reflect the actual use of these shells: - Whenever Yamato/Musashi presses DFAA to activate her Type 3 shells she gets spotted from the entire map for full duration due to firing fireworks into the air from her main battery. - All AA mounts her main guns pointed over get destroyed. - Main battery gets knocked out and their HP will decrease (if HP is already low main gun gets destroyed). - Planes get an accuracy debuff for 5 seconds due to how hard the pilots are laughing at the harmless fireworks display. Type 3 shells were incredibly worthless. Yamato AA in general was worthless. She probably shot down more planes by exploding than with her AA guns. Also LOL buffing Yamato or, even better, Musashi. As if they need it.

"3 battles bottom tier = 4th guaranteed top tier" rule
El2aZeR replied to wilkatis_LV's topic in General Discussion
Have you ever considered that the rule can potentially get waived if someone is in queue for too long just like mirroring? Though regardless, without an official statement we can only share our experiences and draw conclusions from that which is insufficient to prove anything. -

Had that happen as well multiple times. Only way of resolving it is to restart the game or, even worse, your entire PC.

Feedback concerning BB rng spread in the current "HE matters" meta
El2aZeR replied to Bratwurst_Bob's topic in General Discussion
Bwahahahahaha HE has been nerfed so hard it barely even counts as a threat to BBs if you can manage DCP, repair, positioning and concealment correctly. Saying "HE is so strong now" is a hilarious joke at best.- 89 replies

As long as you don't try to play her as a torp boat like so many others I've seen recently you should be fine. Seriously, when I told one to use his guns instead he answered "omg stfu noob DDs don't use guns".

....Just why? Even if there were lots of CVs around experienced CV players wouldn't go strike you anyway until your AA is sufficiently demolished (or they can just long drop you making your DFAA moot) while inexperienced or dumb CV players will get their planes wiped with or without AA specialization. Get AFT + AA range, anything more is overkill and therefore a waste of points that are much better spent elsewhere. Also Hood is vulnerable to AP bombs. Be careful on what you use your DFAA for. Or, if you're alone, just accept that you're going to die one way or another. If you really want to annoy CV players, play an AA cruiser. No BB deals particularly well with air strikes as AA mounts can be destroyed easily by HE spam. Hood is actually one of the worst AA BBs around, being thoroughly incapable of defending her allies (due to the short range of her DFAA and otherwise abysmal AA values) and completely reliant on her few short range rocket mounts (which have a hilarious 200 HP pool, meaning they'll get wiped out if you just sneeze at them in literally anything) + DFAA for self defense. Just a few HE salvos can neutralize the threat you pose to CVs along with all your spent captain points and upgrades completely. Whenever I play a CV, particularly my Enterprise, a Hood is always a welcome sight on the enemy team.

Well, don't ask me then. I have no idea.

Nope. On the other hand, Missouri is a BB so I wouldn't be too worried.

Imported it via URL. Don't think upload restrictions apply then. :)
