I'm not saying that if you're skilled but use a ship without camo automatically means you'll fail. The simple truth however is that the vast majority of players that are even just halfway skilled will always use at least the basic camo that can be acquired for a negligible amount of credits. Thus the vast majority of people sailing around without camos are usually potatoes. It's not a 100% surefire tell, but it's very close. Personally I've never seen someone above T7 without camo that did well in a match.

Camo with Concealment Expert grants plenty of benefits even to ships with high detectability that spending a little bit of credits is well worth it, especially considering it has a negligible impact on your economy if you play decently enough.

Actually it's fairly easy. Common ones like Myoko, Kongo and the like that were practically given out for free are usually captained by potatoes as any other ship that is commonly available. More rare ships like Nachi on the other hand I tend to treat with caution. I'm pretty sure he meant that invisible camo on normal tech tree ships would make identifiying potatoes harder tho. Quite frankly if you're too poor to afford basic camo then you're likely bad at the game.

You can usually identify potatoes without external means by them not having camo equipped.

The amount of planes Laffey downed is pitiful compared to what I can get in my Gearing in this game by simply pressing one button. USN AA was murderous to be sure, but the effectiveness of ingame AA in general is still way above that. As it should be.

Historically speaking all AA in this game is way too good. That's why this is a game and not history.

Actually it would as it gives more time for the crashed player to log back in. How long that takes however depends on the player's setup and WG's wims. My PC can restart, relog and reload into a match within a minute (if WG doesn't bug me out via infinite loading screen), my garbage laptop needs at least three.

Personally I wouldn't mind at all waiting an extra minute and a half for everyone to load in. Any more than that however seems a bit excessive for randoms. Ranked and CBs however could have longer standby times.
