  1. Playing BBs seems to rapidly deteriorate the parts of the brain responsible for smart decision making. On a more serious note, the average player simply doesn't understand the concept of self-sacrifice or playing for the win instead of personal gain. And honestly, why should they do it? With all the premium camo, economy flags and the focus of the reward system on damage, winning or losing a match is negligible. You make credits and exp much easier and faster if you just stay back and damage farm, while sacrificing yourself for a winning play will net you next to nothing. The economy itself rewards bad and punishes good play. Basic example of a game I recently played with @Saiyko and @Muppeteer. Playing a Helena in a T6-8 match, our team was folding pretty harshly on North with the enemy evicting us completely from the West flank. Our DD wasn't spotting and instead chose to throw torps at enemies well beyond his maximum range while everyone else was either occupied in the channel (where the C cap would be, was a standard battle tho) or running away. I was creeping along the edge of my concealment close to the enemy fleet to act as a spotter (you know, since no one else was doing it) when the enemy Akizuki, the last enemy DD, popped up and panic smoked. At this point I knew exactly that to have even the most remote chance of winning that match I needed to kill that Akizuki. So I just yolo charged his smoke, hydro'd him out of it and got him killed. I obviously died as well as Helena does not stand up well to focus fire from over half the enemy team. We eventually won that game. I believe I ended up 2nd to last on the scoreboard despite a major contribution for victory. Now personally I don't mind, I played for the win and will do so time and time again. But that sadly is very far from the mindset of the average player. I had every chance to just ignore the Akizuki and run away. Most players would've probably taken it instead to maximize personal rewards.

    Live server exprement

While I thoroughly disagree that the USN CL line has made CVs useless, +/-1 MM would indeed be beneficial for not only CVs but surface ships as well.

    Dispersion bug?

Looks like it belongs here tbh: If this stuff happens try to relock your target manually. Apparently that helps. Personally I haven't experienced stuff like this yet. It's not even confirmed whether this is just RNGesus trolling you hard or a legitimate bug.

    The roll overmatches

Just add a multiplier for a fast win? Seems like an easy problem to solve.

    Poetic player base.

    Wall of text incoming.
  6. 55 actually. Forgot if GZ even has that many. xD Thanks! :)
  7. Basically we needed - mirror MM with only single CVs - loadout rework (pure strike and pure AS had to go) - UI fixed and improved - removal of auto drops so that all CVs are on the same playing field - simple skill check for DBs - increase in AA mount survivability for consistency - AA strengthened slightly so that you do not need half the fleet guarding against air strikes - a thorough tutorial explaining the intricacies of CV play (applies to all classes, really) This should've made CVs pose enough of a threat to make people think twice about going off solo while offering plenty of counterplay options. What we got instead is - a ludicrous amount of AA buffs and specialized no fly zones ensuring only the best CV players can continue to play the class in an effective manner - a pile of hilarious AA skills because clearly you need to specialize against one of the fundamental classes of the game - making low tier CVs completely incapable of l2p to make sure new CV players cannot challenge the old guard - AP bombs which are clearly the pinnacle of balans - a line of ships which is basically made to clear any ship of all their medium/short range AA mounts with only a single salvo - a small UI overhaul which did more harm than good by introducing many more bugs that persist to this day

    Summer Sale 2018: finished

WG can we please extend this sale a bit longer? *laughs in AP bombs*
  9. Don't think anyone really does contrary to what some people believe. Still, small adjustments would've easily taken care of the problem. But ofc WG decided using the sledgehammer is more appropriate as they always tend to do.

Cleveland out of place at tX?

Every T8+ cruiser can do that tho thanks to 25mm bow armor. Cleve seems fine to me at T8. Could maybe use a bit more range but that's it.
  11. Curious when we're finally gonna see an Iowa class. There can never be enough 'MURICA!

    Good things!

Honestly I'm more in awe of this: A CV bug has been fixed? Am I dreaming?
  13. Thing is that skilled CVs most likely can't claim much responsibility for that. We're far too few in number. If you want the actual culprits, look no further than cruisers with their "OMG OP HE SPAM" and DDs with their "OMG INVISIBLE OP TORPS". As long as this isn't "World of bowcamping BBs with AP only" these people will always have something to complain about. F2P games usually finance themselves via a small core playerbase anyway (that's e.g. us guys and girls here), the economic impact of such people coming and going is more often than not negligible. Honestly if the CV rework doesn't become some sort of "rebirth of Christ" kind of stuff and we keep getting ridiculous gimmicks I'd say an optimistic guess is 2 years at most. If things go badly the game could just straight up die once the CV rework rolls out in (apparently) 2 months or so. The saddest thing about WoWs is all the potential wasted. This could've been a truly great game if WG had just never started to cater to the lowest possible denominator.

    Eagles or Sharks?

I like the shark camo better (both don't look particularly good really), so sharks it is. (In reality I like eagles, tho. Beautiful majestic creatures, truly.) Not that it really matters as I should have enough time to grind both.
  15. The thing is that this actually worked very well in the beginning when CVs were so overwhelmingly powerful you either worked together or you just died even harder than you do now. By murdering CVs WG essentially removed teamplay right as most players joined the game in OBT and formed the meta as we know it which consequently cannot deal with the presence of CVs. I agree that it's pretty much impossible to avert the trend now, but I see no reason to change CVs for the benefit of braindead potatoes either. Let them get their teeth kicked in until they finally l2p. Trust me, I'm not an optimist by any means. I'm a realist and reality is that pretty much every team based multiplayer game throws their less skilled players to the wolfs until they git gud. WoWs should be no different.
  16. Since I currently got nothing to do (don't tell my boss tho), let me break down everything that is wrong in the opening post. And this is going to be a long wall of text, so let me spoiler it, too.
  17. While I applaud it, you could've saved yourself the effort to write all this if you had simply read some of the news WG gave out lately regarding CVs. Simple fact is that you're wrong in almost every aspect (EDIT: See below as to why). The CV rework is necessary due to the upcoming console version, nothing more, nothing less. On the other hand I was able to shut down a Midway in my Seattle hard simply by existing. Not a single AA DPS boosting skill taken. Shutting down CVs is ludicrously easy, it's just too bad that it requires more than one working brain cell. Whether you think it's fun or not is both subjective and completely irrelevant. This is a competition, the other team literally exists to ruin your fun just like you and your team exist to ruin theirs. CVs do well because the large majority of the playerbase is braindead. Just today I got not one, but two caps in my CVs, one of which was in a standard battle. And that's far from a rare occurrence. If you want to pander to this kind of audience, you get the Graf Zeppelin. Now ask yourself, is this really what you want?
  18. MOAR WAIFU! May she lead me to the July Hall of Fame as well. :)
  19. Oh, well, waiting it is. Stuff like this can be slow to update.
  20. Don't you get a new link with the new signature you created over on wows-numbers? If not, just wait a while.
  21. Oh, right. WG pls nevermind what I said above. Give people GZ! *laughs in Enterprise* What, why are you guys looking at me like that?
  22. Literally everyone but the top guy below 500 base exp. O_O Jesus Christ.
  23. Why would you want the worst T8 CV in this game? (Lexington doesn't count as a CV. Lexington is just straight up garbage.)

    Is Ultimate Frontier Operation winnable???

Someone comes asking for help on how to win this operation. Giving the correct answer to that is apparently elitist and smug. Truly your snowflakeness can't increase much more?
  25. El2aZeR

    CV's not doing there job.

No, you don't. True CV play starts at T6+ with the addition of alt attacks. Before that everything you learn is basically a farce.
