carrier The state of CVs - why the rework is necessary
El2aZeR replied to Teekesselchen's topic in General Discussion
Imo that's less of a problem with AA divs and more WG completely disregarding player education. Everyone is thrown into this game with literally no instruction whatsoever. AP shells? Never heard of those. One fire? Oh, no, better extinguish that quick. Angling? No clue. Strafing? Nah, has to be a cheat. In Half-Life 2 there is this great sequence near the start of the game where a Metro cop throws a can onto the ground and tells you to pick it up. Not only does this serve a narrative purpose (your enemies are oppressive evil overlords and all that stuff) but it tells you that you can actually pick up things and throw them around. No pause, no long text explaining game mechanics, no break in your game experience. That's teaching the player done right. Why can't we have that? Operations based on historical battles for example would provide the perfect scenario for introducing new players to the game and the respective classes they wish to play. But ofc WG is too busy churning out gimmick after gimmick to even think about fixing perhaps the most glaring fault of WoWs. -
Neither reports nor compliments improve anything?

Honestly AA divs are fairly easily dealt with. What you need is a lot of patience, map awareness and most of all smart decision making. You need to play defensive and supportive of your team. Problem is that playing the support role in a CV is the most boring thing ever. You can't strike because of the enemy AA div, the enemy CV can't strike because of you. Pretty much the only thing both of you will do all game is providing spotting information and engaging in the occasional dogfight if necessary (sometimes not even that as passive air denial is often more effective than active fighting). It's basically the competitive playstyle and I can count on one hand the CV players I have met that can resist their urge of "OMG MUH DAMAGE" all match long to keep this up. Not to mention the rewards you get are inevitably regardless of which side you're on because "LOL NO DAMAGE YOU MUST'VE BEEN USELESS". -
Captain skills for US CL line also good for Atlanta?
El2aZeR replied to Ryouzanpakku's topic in General Discussion
Pretty sure we'll get to respec when it hits anyway as it will change up plane - AA dynamics dramatically. Whenever that will be. -
What was the goal of Raptor rebalance again?
El2aZeR replied to BlackYeti's topic in General Discussion
Just take the entire map lol what are you a casul? On a more serious note, haven't tried the reworked Raptor Rescue yet but it sounds rather awful indeed. Why WG felt the need to rework it is beyond me.- 75 replies

That's even better. If you have a Midway you can take totally balans meme bombs to pay visits to braindead cruisers who don't have DFAA.

Hint:

- play a CV - farm braindead potatoes for Confederate and High Caliber almost every match - profit

El2aZeR replied to Teekesselchen's topic in General Discussion
If everyone is braindead, sure. Not the fault of CVs however. Guess what? That happens regardless of whether CVs are involved or not. In fact in my experience my team is much more inclined to push when my team sees the enemy just circling in their spawn being braindead because of plane spotting. Used to be when the playerbase wasn't completely braindead. Clearly a problem with CVs. If braindead players don't wanna get their paint scratched then they deserve to get their teeth kicked in by anything, be it HE spam (which is laughably ineffective btw, last time I played my Monty I survived for over 5 minutes under constant HE spam from a Worcester, a DM and a Hinden), torps or aircraft. You're basically demanding braindead play to not be punished, which I suppose isn't particularly surprising coming from you but stupid beyond belief nonetheless. -
How Many Battles In A Premium Ship Before It Pays For Itself?
El2aZeR replied to The_Finnster's topic in General Discussion
And this still isn't about the viability of premiums as a money makers compared to tech tree ships or other premiums, my calculation shows when a premium has paid for itself so to speak. Nothing more, nothing less. -
It's how competitive matches are played, no? Or just give them the ability to switch detonations on and off in the options.
-
While detonations can stay in randoms, coop and operations if WG really insists on keeping such a mechanic, it should definitely be removed from ranked, clan wars and training battles aka competitive.

Moshi moshi? (Wait, I'm actually Asian. .)
-
Honestly that would depend on whether or not you can keep your guns on a target while turning. If yes, I wouldn't bother. If not, yeah, I'd take it.

As explained time and time again, you don't need a lemming train. You need none to approx. two additional ships depending on what ship you're playing and what captain skills you have taken. If playing with your team isn't fun for you, maybe you just shouldn't be playing a team game? CVs can actually create more fluid gameplay precisely because they counter concealment, meaning that if you don't stay on the move, you die. It's not their fault braindead potatoes still insist on bow on reversing when there is a CV in the match. As evidenced by the current meta. Oh, wait. People camp even HARDER without CVs because there is no CVs to punish them. Who would've thought? Just give it up. Your idea of "CVs = camping" has been debunked long ago. Teamplay is not grand strategy coordination btw. Active teamplay is reading the current situation and playing accordingly so that it best benefits your team and, in extension, yourself. It's a simple process made by individuals that doesn't even require communication. It's too bad that the average player is thoroughly incapable of understanding just the concept of a crossfire, much less of AA support or strong positioning. -
I mean, it's nothing too different from a trash movie displaying supposed (or actual) teenagers in scantily clad clothing. Anime isn't a genre. Anime is a medium that has genres. And yes, like any medium, be it games, movies or TV series', it has plenty of trash in it. If you e.g. had started out your gaming career with a bad, bug ridden experience I doubt you'd see it in a positive light at least initially. Anime isn't for everyone, true. But keep an open mind. If you want to I can recommend several Animes that have a more mature setting depending on the genre you like in movies/TV series' and aren't just basically soft porn trash. Did you know that Anime a few decades ago was actually hailed as the animation alternative for adults, the "childish" one being western cartoons? And it's not hard to see why, it's when shows quite inappropriate for children (due to violence and such, not nudity. Or at least not primarily nudity) such as Ghost in the Shell, Evangelion and the like first entered mainstream culture. Btw, don't mind pay mind to the loli stuff too much. It's more or less a meme.

If people haven't noticed yet, aside from the "Misbehavior in chat" option, which will eventually lead to a chat ban, reporting doesn't really do anything. Why would you need more reports?

How Many Battles In A Premium Ship Before It Pays For Itself?

Meh, you need credits and potentially free exp to fit out a silver ship, too. I just calculated the cost needed for a premium ship to pay for itself. -
carrier The state of CVs - why the rework is necessary
El2aZeR replied to Teekesselchen's topic in General Discussion
Depends on how you define reasons, really. If their goal was solely to fix CVs, yeah, a complete overhaul is unnecessary to say the least. Most of the designed fundamental mechanics work, it's more of a question of fine tuning and fixing bugs. If their goal was (and it most likely is) to maximize profit, completely remaking CVs to fit consoles is certainly the way to go. -
How Many Battles In A Premium Ship Before It Pays For Itself?

Honestly 200k is on the low side in my experience. If you earn 500k on average you'll only need to play 5 battles. -
How Many Battles In A Premium Ship Before It Pays For Itself?
El2aZeR replied to The_Finnster's topic in General Discussion
Honestly this is easily calculated as doubloons, which can be bought for money, can be converted to credits at a normal rate of 1 to 1500. Lets say you buy a 50€ premium ship. For the same amount of money you can buy 14.500 doubloons which are equal to 21.750.000 credits. If you then earn 200k credits on average with said premium ship you're gonna need ~109 battles before you start turning profit. PSA: Don't convert your doubloons to credits. It's a ridiculous waste of money. -
