  1. Implying there can ever be enough gimmicks comrade?
  2. Honestly all whining about the playerbase is justified at this point considering I can regularly take caps in my CVs.
  3. IJN CVs still rule supreme (barring at T7 where the abomination called Saipan exists). IJN BBs perform fine. IJN cruisers are okay to pretty good. Some ships could use some minor buffs. IJN DDs are largely obsolete. That's one IJN line being completely swept over by powercreep. And to be fair no line should be as utterly useless in the face of their competition as the IJN DD line is, but that's pretty much it.

    British Carriers

    Nope. I'm deadly serious.
  5. You can't continuously dodge shells either as some of them will eventually hit thanks to RNG and neither can you prevent a ship with better concealment from spotting you indefinitely. Meanwhile all it takes for you to be safe from air strikes is either taking DFAA if you're playing a cruiser or sticking to teammates to multiply AA effectiveness. It's a surefire way to avoid damage unlike any action against shells or torps. You just love digging holes for yourself, don't you? Is it, truly? Because all the whining about CVs is primarily about most of them being braindead potatoes, too. Nerf torps and AP shells I guess which have far higher damage potential, are less easy to counter and a higher rate of fire. Ah, yes, because AA only reaches out to 1km. Please forgive me for my forgetfulness.

GZ = Graf Zeppelin, otherwise known as the worst T8 CV.
  7. No comrade. Yuo see, we already murder filthy clicker carriers. Next we murder stupid invisible op DDs. Then only BBs and cruisers in game, but cruisers just citadel magnets for BBs. So everyone only play one true glorious BB class! Is perfect strategy comrade xaxaxaxaxaxaxa!
  8. Quite possibly. Ironically that'd increase the amount of micromanagement and map awareness required to play CVs tho. A RTS interface is naturally better suited for managing multiple units. Avoiding damage will remain dodging, what I was talking about is actively combating planes. There are several questions remaining here, too. Will we be able to select in which formation our planes will drop their ordinance (aka will we be able to make our drops impossible to dodge)? Will DBs actually become pinpoint accurate (which would spell doom for DDs as the USN 1000lb HE bombs can already oneshot them if RNGesus decides to do so)? Will AP bomb performance remain as it is? All of these questions remain open, but I have no doubt that WG will release an abomination and we'll probably see whine threads about returning CVs to their previous state. To that I will answer with glee: This is what you wanted. Then I'll probably quit the game.
  9. COMRADES I HAVE BEEN FOUND OUT CYKA BLYAT PLS DONT SEND ME TO GULAG T_T
  10. Considering the CV rework is only now about to finish, I guess we can expect the BB AP on DDs issue to be fixed in 2021.

Did Anyone Buy a Ship With Coal?

Quick question btw`that I haven't seen answered anywhere yet. If I buy a ship with coal that I already have, do I get doubloons as compensation or just credits?
  12. Ahahaha, yeah, totally. It's not like almost every game insults is thrown at all those shoddy BB players and how that class attracts only braindead potatoes. Clearly I must be dreaming. Totally, totally. The one thing that can attack every 3-4 minutes and has no staying power whatsoever is the one that's adding too much. And because the one dude who misplays horribly by pushing alone into multiple ships needs to be rewarded for his shoddy play. Riiiiight. No, it isn't. The issue is with player skill which again is irrelevant for balance. It takes literally next to no conscious effort to stick with some teammates. If that is too difficult for you, too bad.
  13. Ever since I put my waifu on my waifu I enjoyed a close to 90% solo WR with her. Coincidence? I think not. Totally worth the money I spent. :D
  14. Because weebs pay a ton of money for weeb stuff. I too am guilty of that.
  15. I think I have a pretty good idea, though ofc I could still be wrong. Spoiler for length. That principle can be used to call literally everything broken or justify any mechanic. Radar not for everyone? Broken because you need to rely on your cruisers to use it. Everyone is not equally stealthy? Broken because you have to rely on your teammates to spot. Etc. etc. etc. On the other hand, people just wanna play with their ship? Go aimbots, wallhacks and infinite vision for everyone because they're too lazy to l2p. Or alternatively, why can't I just go around and kill everything on my own as a CV? I "just want to play my ship" after all. (Not my actual mindset btw if it isn't clear enough.) That's literally the mindset of an idiot or a cheater. Pick the camp you belong in. Here's a simple fact: Balancing does not care one bit about the human factor, because the human factor is supposed to be what decides games. Also Or do you honestly believe that the average potato should not get punished for his mistakes? I guess we should remove citadels from BBs too the- OH WAIT. If you'd read carefully you'll realize that the method I described doesn't counter them. It enforces air parity and negates the impact of both CVs (which is a good deal because you are already being negated). You yourself become incapable of influencing the battle beyond spotting thanks to the enemy AA div, the same applies to the enemy CV because of you. CVs can largely cancel themselves out, all AA divs do is freeing up your fighters which doesn't do jack against an enemy CV who is playing defensive. A skilled enemy AA div is still more likely to win because they're playing as a unit, have high impact ships and are usually more skilled than all the braindead potatoes on your team put together. On the off chance that you have some players on your team that are actually capable, the situation ofc equalizes. Basically whether you win against a skilled AA div or not becomes completely dependent on your team, more so than it already is as a CV. Sure, I have won against AA divs but never on my own. And that's fine, this is a team game after all.

German BB AP Bombs Ruins the game

They don't. Armor isn't enough to arm the fuse in the first place unless possibly hitting a turret on a Khaba afaik. Then again I've forgotten what the fuse arming threshold for the GZ AP bombs was but I doubt it was lower than 30mm. As for the reason why AP bombs exist, to over cruisers even harder I guess. No one asked for this, skilled CV players opposed their introduction at least in their current iteration, so ofc WG thought "Da, is fine now xaxaxaxaxa" and put them into the game.
  17. Oh boy, another chance to get myself some tea boats. Good thing I've already amassed a pretty good stockpile of resources.
  18. Well I would hope not but reality most likely looks different. Was one of the first ones who called it here on the forums. Helps that I actually work in the video game industry and know how long certain development processes can take.
  19. Maybe? I mean, Shima is already obsolete in the face of pretty much every other DD yet people continue to play her because OMG SHOOT 15 TORPS AT GREY LINE SO EASY!

    More anime commanders

  21. Indeed, however the ability to specialize and thus diversity itself is also one of the biggest problems when it comes to CVs. For example just getting rid of most of the AA & plane upgrades/skills and primarily balancing around base values would do wonders for CV - surface ship interaction. Having a lot of choices isn't always good, especially if they're in contact with fundamental mechanics. It used to be okay because AA + concealment was literally the only thing you could reasonably spec into (as every other skill was either for CVs or completely useless), but with the rework of captain skills to make other builds viable WG ironically buffed CVs in a huge way.
  22. But then we have to assume that everyone knows how to play against CVs which would mean that CVs don't pose nearly as big of a problem as they actually do. If everyone had a clue as to how to play the game CVs simply wouldn't be nearly as influential as CVs scale much more than any other class with not only with individual but average player skill overall. A competitive scene is actually highly relevant to balancing because it tends to show clearly not only whether your mechanics work or not but whether they can be exploited. You are right though, not having CVs in every (or at least almost every) match isn't ideal. That's however WGs fault for completely murdering the class instead of making the adjustments needed. Nerfing CVs to a level where you can have such numbers per match is an impossiblity. The fundamental mechanics prevent that, though I'm sure you know as we've discussed this previously I believe. What you're asking for is a complete redesign, which is precisely what WG is doing. And if it is designed and balanced right we could actually have CVs occupy BB slots for example. I have no confidence whatsoever in WG being capable of pulling that off, though.
  23. Ah, so the poor damage farmer who gets punished for his shoddy playstyle by CVs returns. Funny how as always you only apply this to CVs and not to every other class. I wonder why you opposed adding radar to RN BBs. After all relying on others to radar for you is bad, isn't it? AA spec denies spotting in addition to denying damage and zoning if you haven't noticed yet. Clearly your plethora of competitive experience is shining through, which dismisses your observations completely. You honestly want CVs to be balanced around the average player? Why complain about Graf Zeppelin then? She's accessible, easy to use and can be played effectively by braindead monkeys. Precisely what you wish for. Simple fact: If you balance your game around the worst parts of the playerbase, you may as well forgo balance altogether. See Graf Zeppelin. Bwahahahahahahaha Clearly I must be dreaming when I see the complaints about BBs in pretty much every single match. And no, I'm not the one making them. Except apparently it isn't with all the HE spam and torps. Guess we need to nerf those, too? A single ship suiciding into multiple enemies is braindead play if you haven't noticed. Pushing in itself isn't bad play. Pushing alone is because as already said above even without CVs there is plenty of things that will kill you. And if just 2 or 3 ships sailing together is a lemming train to you, I guess there is no helping you then. May as well ask "Why is focus fire good play?" or something comparatively stupid. Also ironically with CV spotting you wouldn't need to push a flank to punish cruisers hiding behind islands.
