I have. And every time I or my teammates have misplayed. A DM with DFAA equipped wipes out entire strikes within literal seconds. If your teammate doesn't have DFAA equipped, too bad. As for T8s, stick to teammates with good AA maybe? You know, just like with any other ships that have weak AA? And quite frankly T8 up-tiered to T10 is rather mild in the CV match up considering almost everything T8+ has enough AA to deny T10 strikes when stacked with other ships.
-
Again, if a CV gets ordinance onto you you're being punished for your horrible misplay. CVs are locked out not by any skill but by simply sticking with teammates or playing an AA ship yourself. There is literally nothing a CV player can do against you if you take preemptive measures. If you feel like you should have a chance against a CV on your own, stop playing BBs and pick up something that can slot DFAA.

Some serious talk, this is why I still believe Project R was the best event. Everyone working towards a common goal giving nobody a reason to be salty about anything. And ofc some great rewards.

Meh, I'll probably be sitting right across in the next booth. Remind me to tape my nickname onto my shirt for recognition. :)

And leave my waifu to rust in port? I don't think so.

Indefinite queue times for CVs in the night, please
El2aZeR replied to tenacious_torps's topic in General Discussion
I hope you realize that this can happen to literally every ship class in late/early hours. Happens rather often too in my experience. I guess everyone needs infinite queue time then? Ever seen a match that literally only has AA ships in it? Because I have. And trust me, that is more than enough incentive. -
Will probably look like this:

C'mon guys, it's easy to find out! Here's how: - pick a class - if you've picked BBs any sister ship of a regular high tier tech tree BB (that is not a premium yet) can be a candidate - if you've not picked BBs, find a ship in that class that will most resemble a BB in characteristics/playstyle and voila, you have your T9 premium candidate - discard all other ships that do not resemble BBs - if you've picked CVs, uninstall the game immediately Seriously though, can we finally get some T9 premiums that aren't (pseudo-)BBs?

On what USN ship are you using William Halsey
El2aZeR replied to mavericksama's topic in General Discussion
Double strike is most easily earned on CVs but they obviously don't particularly benefit from the concealment bonus. -20% service times on Confederate is ludicrously good however, especially considering you can actively play towards it without becoming a selfish unlike with Yamamoto who needs a Kraken. So yeah, provided that you're any good at playing CVs Halsey is probably best placed on a Midway or an Enterprise. (Saipan doesn't benefit as much as she already services very fast.) If you're not, I believe it comes down to personal preference. High tier USN ships generally play around concealment, so a double strike earned on any of them will pay dividends. DM's hilarious rof, Monty front and back salvos and ofc Fletcher/Gearing gun + torp combo (remember that Gearing nowadays has Fletcher torps) are all fairly even in their ability to earn Double Strikes when provided with the opportunity imo. And ofc all of them can earn Confederate pretty well, too. (Unsure if Worchester can be placed among them as well as I don't have her yet.) -

Nah, she can't. Most T8 cruisers get 25mm extremities which cannot be overmatched by 356mm guns. You can get yolo rushed even by a Chapayev. Not many know about this however. -
Again, you need to take preemptive measures which are guaranteed to work. No such guarantee for shells. *Theoretical DPM.
-
You mean the two or three DDs per team that are brave enough to play with current radar oversaturation? So apparently most cruiser players dying early to do their job leaves behind the BBs that are just camping in the back and watching. Surely the fault of cruisers. Obviously, charging alone into multiple enemies in a BB is a misplay of the highest order. No one in their right mind would follow you. Tell you what, wanna know why cruisers hide behind islands or spam long range and generally prefer a more cautious playstyle? It's because every game there are 5 BBs on each side waiting for a cruiser to show itself and nuke it without the need to aim properly thanks to their dispersion which they oh so often whine about. So if you just murder BBs suddenly cruisers get a lot more freedom to move and the influence of a CV on a match drops accordingly. But ofc in typical BB fashion you'd rather whine about what is killing you and complain about others when in fact YOU are part of the problem. BB overpopulation is one of the great factors in why CVs are doing so well. Remember when way back all BBs were whining about how op cruisers are and got them nerfed to oblivion? Well, here's what you wanted. Deal with it.
-
Plenty. In most cases it's the BBs that prefer to stay behind, camp and run at the slightest hint of danger, making them easy pickings for any CV with half a brain.
-
By not travelling with your teammates for AA cover. A CV's damage potential can easily be 100% denied unlike any other class, which is one of the reasons why they get superior accuracy.
-
You're not supposed to be able to dodge a CV drop, because you have already misplayed hard by letting a CV drop. Also 1km is closer than the arming distance of those torps. Better question: What does judging personal stats for performance have to do with global stats?
-
Interesting how "no effort" yields you results, isn't it? You've probably never heard of manual drop either.

Crossing AL Monarch and KC Warspite should work fine as Conq. Also she needs a flamethrower of some kind. -
Bayern is practically immune to AP bomb citadels. Just fyi.

AP close range on broadside targets - aim under waterline - faulty mechanic
El2aZeR replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
Recently broadside tanked an Izumo and a Yamato in my Seattle at ~4km. Both only managed to chew halfway through my HP until they died. On the other hand I managed to nuke a DM at 6km simply by aiming slightly below the waterline in my NC. -
Ah, thanks. Honestly didn't know that. :) (Though neither radar was particularly effective to say the least.)
-
Unsure if Shima had radar actually. A lot of Japanese ships didn't have radar. What radar they had was mostly worthless because it was unreliable as all out.
-
WG didn't like everyone playing mid-tier German BBs. So they made AP bombs to them over. And since they hate cruisers too they made AP bombs those over even harder.

so tell me, should i stop playing yamato. is that the message you are sending us devs
El2aZeR replied to Rage_Oddball's topic in General Discussion
So? The ability to overmatch 32mm armor needs plenty of hefty drawbacks, which Yamato all has. Yeah. After it was buffed. -

El2aZeR replied to Rage_Oddball's topic in General Discussion
The reason you don't see her in CBs is due to BBs being restricted to one. Yamato is most effective fighting other BBs after all. Remember the good old days Monty players complained about getting overmatched by Yamato? What did Yamato players say then? "Oh, you're not made to fight Yama, you're made to kill everything around Yama!" And now so many Yama players complain "Monty kills everything else better than Yama, it's unfair!". Everything comes full circle I suppose.
