    [IDEA] Carrier-focused scenario's

Sounds good, BUT CVs were restricted to 1 per game in high tiers partially because performance would tank with dozens of squads in the air. Unless those issues have been resolved I don't believe this is feasible. Also with the upcoming CV rework making anything based on the current mechanics isn't very productive. An operation could however be used to introduce the rework.

Should 7.8 even be called an update?

What else would you call it? 7.75? What difference does it even make? We're getting new content, leave it to the devs to decide version numbers and such.
  3. Ah. Allow me to be lazy too then: "LOL U PLAY BBS U ONLY WANT BBS TO BE OP STFU!!!111111" Wait, I play BBs, too. Godit. It is still one of only TWO weaknesses this ship has, both of which can be played around fairly easily. Also this is a quality of pretty much every AP shell with the Yamato sisters being the sole exception. Don't get me wrong, not being capable of overmatching 27mm armor is a fairly big deal, but I'd hardly call that such a substantial weakness to warrant so many good qualities. At least one of them needs to go. Personally I'd either raise her citadel halfway up her belt armor or increase her base stealth by at least 2km.
  4. Ah, yes, the root of all evil. "LOL YOU PLAY CVS YOUR ARGUMENTS ARE INVALID" Totally ignoring that I play every class. Great argument right there mate. Which can largely be mitigated by her other qualities as Alsace has already demonstrated.
  5. Let me rephrase that then: - perfect gun setup to angle for auto-bounce And if the only thing you can bring up is a marginal point about the heal, I guess we should nerf that abomination to the ground instead.
  6. - super fast heal cd = even with 32mm armor all over HE spam won't bother you - perfect gun setup to bow camp - hilarious AA + immunity to even GZ AP bomb citadels - good maneuverability and speed + speed boost - great stealth - waterline citadel + turtleback This ship literally only has two weaknesses: The guns are only 380mm and 32mm gets overmatched by 460mm guns. Yes, that's it. THIS is supposed to be punishing to play? Are you actually for real? And you still would like to see buffs?!

    How's the game nowadays?

Depends on what you define as a positive direction and what your perception of the game was prior to quitting. Generally speaking though the upcoming CV rework (which we still know very little about) can make or break this game.
  8. I agree, but again this is about saving and making the most money. The US, UK, France, China and so forth and so on are simply much more lucrative markets than Iraq, Tibet or Afghanistan. As stupid as it sounds, offending e.g. Tibet is acceptable because there is negligible amounts of money to be made there, but offending China means a huge pile of money will slip through your grasp. As for Germany and historical depictions of KM ships in WoWs, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high. Reevaluating a game again costs money and the change in legislation is rather vague. It explicitly states that the context in which these symbols are portrayed must not glorify them, but where exactly is the line here? Does making e.g. a Bismarck sink a Hood in a random match already match the criteria? And as this is judged by a case by case basis there aren't really any guidelines to follow, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if WG doesn't take such a step. And quite frankly I wouldn't blame WG for that. Regardless of whether making games is their passion or not, you can't live off of passion alone. As far as I remember evaluation costs are determined by how much money the developer/publisher has, so we're potentially talking huge sums here.

    Des Moines 6th slot

Range grants you the flexibility that you desperately need in the BB meta imo.
  10. Well, true, but they do tend to "unite", so to speak, against the Japanese.
  11. Honestly if all people in the world would have the capability (or will) to think rationally it'd probably be a much better place. Sadly that just isn't the case.
  12. Because it was the symbol of the people that they suffered under, thus will forever be related in their minds. Honestly that's probably just a part of nature in general. Animals are trained to recognize things and associate stuff with it to survive. Berries? Eat. Tree? Climb. Gunshot? Get the out of there. Doesn't matter if we're capable of rational thinking, primal instincts will forever be ingrained in us.
  13. Quite possibly because they either don't have the... let's call it "hate culture" as Asian countries have against the Japanese (I genuinely don't know about the former tbh, only know the extend of the latter. My grandparents hated the Japanese with a passion even decades after the war and I know a lot of younger relatives still feel the same.) or alternatively because they're not as lucrative in general or not as lucrative as the entire Russian market.
  14. And potentially alienate a ton of Asian players? I don't think so. Remember, this is about money, not ethics, history or something else.
  15. Can't say I know much about the effect of a symbol or something else for people to rally behind, but with game devs it's not a question of ethics etc. but of money. Every time you submit a game for approval you have to pay a fee and ofc go through a certain waiting period. So even with e.g. the current change in legislation concerning the swastika in Germany (which is not a free pass to put swastikas all over a game btw) I'm sure we'll still see censored versions due to devs and publishers unwilling to risk having to pay twice or potentially even delaying release. And ofc paying to reevaluate a title that already has been released doesn't particularly make sense from a monetary perspective either.

Indefinite queue times for CVs in the night, please

Oh, I agree, but to only restrict CVs is hilarious at best. Personally I've seen in happen very often in the past with CVs or not, which is why I simply quit playing when it's late/early now. Regardless I believe WG actually once issued an official statement on this saying that casual players would prefer to get into a reduced match than no match at all. Ofc that could be solved via simply giving players an option to opt out of such matches but hey, it's WG.

    Anti-Aircraft Visuals and Sound

AA in CBT used to light up the sky and make you deaf once the close range mounts started firing. Glorious sight truly, but a nightmare for audio awareness and apparently performance too, so they tuned it down a lot. Wouldn't mind at all if at higher settings all tracers and sound overload return. :)

Nah, in fact they *edit even worse than @wilkatis_LV described them as even when set on the hardest difficulty. It's a testament to the sad, sad state of average skill that these bots are still better than the average player.
  19. You do need the move command. Picking the distance right just removes the need for your fighters to turn.
  20. You know, just like BB players complain about getting killed by planes when out of position. Or by torps. Or by HE spam. Or anything that can hurt BBs.

    - starts stat shaming - goes the other way when proven that his stats are worse Isn't this hypocritical of you considering this very post is the first time you've referred to the topic at hand in this discussion? - starts derailing the thread - now puts the blame on me You think the players you shoot at and kill are having fun? This is perhaps the most common misconception about game design. No, not everything must be fun. Interaction has to be fun, being interacted with doesn't and often MUST NOT be fun. As such from a "fun" perspective a GZ bombing the out of you is perfectly fine, because he's having fun. Your enjoyment is completely irrelevant. Except taking preemptive measures as already discussed. The irony about GZ is that it is in fact "balanced" in a sense. CV play rests on three pillars: Scouting, contesting air superiority and damage dealing. By giving up both scouting and air superiority in addition to her planes being rather fragile and having very little reserves available, GZ is allowed to have ludicrous striking ability. Thus from a game design standpoint, GZ isn't unbalanced. What GZ is is broken. No CV, or any ship for that matter, should be designed in such an extreme fashion.
  22. I used to read Oregairu until I think volume 10 which back then was the newest one. Haven't managed the motivation to read the newer volumes though.

Ironic, I do better in IJN BBs than you. I also have more games played in them than you. And I'm better than you in general. So if I'm bad, what does that make you? :) Attempting to stat shame is not very smart when they're openly available. https://wows-numbers.com/player/526953200,El2aZeR/ https://wows-numbers.com/player/500994241,ironhammer500/

AA rating doesn't mean anything. What matters is DPS. DFAA straight up triples the DPS you have. Even the most mediocre AA becomes extremely deadly to any aircraft venturing into range. Also no, a CV cannot drop a cruiser with good AA and DFAA active unless said cruiser misplays horribly and activates DFAA either too early or too late. Difficulty is a matter of perception. I've played high level StarCraft before starting WoWs, ofc CV play is easy for me.

1k battles in and you haven't noticed yet that T6+ IJN cruisers can use DFAA? Jesus Christ.
