And you seem to believe WG will actually bother to balance the rework in a decent fashion and not make them broken in some way to make them more popular, as is demonstrated by their focus on reliably stacking DoT with no counterplay. Remember, the goal is to make CVs not only common, but to have around 6 per game, 3 per side (which ironically would make the spotting situation far worse than it is now). The easiest way to make something appealing to the lowest common denominator is to make it broken. I've not taken anything from the reveal nor the leaked gameplay video but WG's own words and goals. And seriously, you honestly trust them to listen to community feedback or balancing anything correctly? After they've proven their inability time and time again? GZ, Conqueror, Belfast, citadel lowering etc. all forgotten already?

By making it more toxic via stripping it on any kind of team support and making them pure damage farmers? Have you even tried to keep yourself informed of the rework?

CYCLONE = WATCHING AT AN EMPTY SCREEN 12 minutes???!!!
El2aZeR replied to Yaskaraxx's topic in General Discussion
Good, how about you uninstall the game next? Praised be cyclones. -
Which, again, does nothing to improve the situation. If you have too small of a playerbase, that inevitably means any "variable" tolerances will be far too high, thus creating situations we already face as it has to allow the top players to run into potatoes since there simply aren't enough top players to fill the queue at any given time. "Variable" tolerances will break the system and make it pointless. As for how big, around 100k+ average players (NOT peak players) at minimum.

Ashitaka is awesome - can we still buff her a bit?

So basically "I do not want my camos to get scratched, please remove cyclones so that I can continue camping at the map border and be completely useless". Not that you'd ever want to improve yourself ofc. Remember, just because you got killed in your Moskva 1vs1 by a Cleve doesn't mean you're bad at playing Moskva. No, Cleve is simply overpowered. There is no way anyone could ever win with a Moskva against a Cleve. Right guys? Seriously, stop trying to hide behind your "creative plays" and other similarly pathetic excuses. Acknowledge that you're horrendously bad and work towards bettering yourself. Cyclones, torps, HE spam, etc. All of these mechanics do not pose any problems, the problem is YOU. -
Thoroughly agreed considering you seem to refuse to understand that bringing any kind of skill based MM into this game will result in utter failure due to the playerbase being too small to support it. We don't want it because it will either have literally no impact, thus being a waste of time and manpower, or stretch queue time to intolerable levels if you display any kind of skill. At this point you're just ing about how no one agrees with your fundamentally flawed opinion.

And without the team a CV can be reduced to nothing. This is a team PvP game with an asymmetric role distribution, which inevitably creates disparity between the potential impact of fundamentally different classes. Spotting is the most valuable ability a ship can have in this game (due to a lack of healers), thus CVs are automatically the most impactful class. This is also why their damage dealing capabilities can be literally reduced to zero along with having to risk their "health pool" with every attack, restrictions no other class has to deal with. That players are too stupid to reduce the impact of CVs again has nothing to do with balancing. All classes having the same impact despite asymmetric role distribution is an impossibility. There isn't a single such game out there that either achieves or has the goal of achieving such a state.
-
True. And at the same time false. You see, CV impact is simply being redistributed from global scouting and sniping exposed targets to localized scouting and damage farming with no counterplay as is pretty evident from everything WG has shown so far. Then you have to consider that CVs no longer have any viable weapon against themselves, which means rising CV numbers inevitably cuts down the availability of AA cover that is already getting nerfed pretty hard. If that's "reducing" impact of CVs to you, okay then. Because such impact can also be reduced to near zero in the context of random battles. Balancing ironically applies here. The more powerful an ability, the easier it has to be to counterplay. And contrary to the opinion of all the whiners, CVs are in fact the easiest class to counterplay. It doesn't even require any interaction beyond some minimap awareness, a click and occasionally a button press. And if people are simply too stupid to counterplay it? Well, balancing naturally excludes the human factor, so it doesn't matter anyway.
-
Midway for maximeme fun and engaging gameplay. If you don't wanna play CVs, everything but Shima would be a pretty good pick.
-
Oh boy. Tell me, how long have you been here? Because in pretty much every discussion about CVs it has always been about "OMG CV HAS TOO MUCH IMPACT!!!1111" and pretty much never about the players aside from the skill gap. Distributing such over multiple players while making CVs practically fool proof does nothing to improve the situation. In fact it arguably makes it a lot worse.
-
Which was explicitly stated as one of their goals, meaning that if they do not achieve that initially they will change and likely buff CVs to make it happen one way or another.
-
That you're one of those damage farmers who consistently benefit skilled CV players whenever you push that battle button, as evidenced by the multiple times I had to play against you? Yes, yes I do. Have you seen the recently released videos? With WG's goal to make reworked CVs focus on damage dealing and DoT stacking instead of scouting that's more true for reworked CVs than current ones. There is less than a minute between strikes. Scouting is also done WHILE striking, staying in the target area for well over 2 minutes (which still results in far less "reload" time than current CVs btw). Why would you need to actively scout when you can just do it passively? Also I don't see how multiple CVs change anything when it also means that there will be less AA cover available in the match (and AA is already getting nerfed hard). Sure, there are more players, but reworked CVs are also dumbed down so anyone with half a brain can find success. In the end everyone will just whine "CVs decide the match" instead of " CV decides the match". Sounds like the guided missiles they were actually testing. I almost forgot about that. For those that don't remember, that was supposed to be the gimmick of the 3rd RU DD branch. I bet that's where they got the inspiration for reworked CV play from, really. Apparently fighters cannot shoot down more than ~4 planes and can be easily avoided if I remember correctly from the discussion thread. If all else fails, considering all CVs get this consumable just summon your own fighters to lock them. Means you will practically never use them to protect your allies but that's what WG wants to achieve, no? Fighters will literally just become pretty decoration. Or, ironically, scouting tools if they can spot ships.
-
Well, technically speaking you DID lose this game to the players, because the vast majority of them are too *edited* to deal with CVs/torps/HE spam/etc. Thus creating the need for WG to dumb such mechanics down so even the most *edited* potato can be successful in some way.

Got my last pizza. That's pretty much it for me, though depending on how long the event lasts I may go for extra baguette among other things as well. Also my first event in which I didn't get completely wiped out in resources. Still took me around 160k fuel, 150k ammo, 50k steel and 90k bauxite tho. Christ, now I have to recuperate that for the winter event AND go clear the maps again. T_T Meanwhile in AL... SSR cats are literally chibi catgirls. I... I don't even... -

Well, some ships also have special skins you can unlock via marriage, though most of them aren't in EN yet. -
CV gameplay: How to zoom in and out MAP view, while maintainig focus on squadrons?
El2aZeR replied to ZAMRAM's topic in General Discussion
Tbh I don't know either as again I don't use the tac map, but try double tapping or holding the corresponding number key. -

As many as you want. You gotta buy them with diamonds tho. Base stats (aside from speed) are increased by 9% and affection value is recapped to 200. Once 200 affection is reached, stat boost increases to 12%. Not insubstantial (just reaching 100 affection will give your ships a 6% boost, marriage doubles that once you reach 200), but not necessary either. I recommend spending your diamonds on dorm slots first if you haven't already. -

Personally I never bothered with the tac map and just use the minimap instead. If you don't know yet, you can adjust the size of the minimap using your +/- keys. You can also use it to set waypoints for both your ship and your squads if you have the alternative controls enabled. If you don't like that, double tapping a correspondimg number key lets you jump to that squad. Alternatively you can click once on the minimap to move your view to the specified position. -
Honestly it isn't so much the ship I disliked but rather the floaty shells that kinda turns her into something more akin to a discount Cleve instead of being a logical continuation to Nürnberg. Back then I thought to myself that I'd much rather take out a Nürnberg into T7 than sailing with Yorck. She's not bad, my results were actually pretty good, but I never felt comfortable playing her. If I get floaty shells, I want the rof and/or the number of guns to back it up. Yorck provides neither. This is probably why I actually like Hipper. Pretty much the same hull parameters but with comfy gunnery to play out her range advantage. Yorck is certainly gonna need that buff now that Helena exists.

Spend those drills. You get far more of them than you'll ever need. Pretty much the same thing with flamethrowers in KC. Best waifu is the best solo CV in this game. And one of, if not the best CV in general, really. She has also retained that status despite so many other ships being introduced, so leveling Enterprise is definitely worth it. If you have her ofc. Meanwhile in KC, I'm finally done with E-5. Thought for a minute I was done with the event in general, then remembered that I still haven't picked up my flight deck pizza yet. Oh well... -
Some games are simply impossible to carry regardless of what ship you play. Even triple super unicum CV + AA divs lose a match against randoms from time to time due to their team being absolutely . Kudos for being able to do that in a Yorck tho. I didn't like that ship at all.

Either not enough games played for WR to be a representative statistic or the player is a damage farming .

Wait for her to appear in the medal exchange shop. Have 80 medals ready just in case. That's how I got most of the regular SSRs tbh. Congrats! Meanwhile I'm still sitting here farming for Ark. T_T Goddamn you Tanaka, give me my teabote already!
