    Meh, depends really. If you manage to get a good trade early (say, yourself for 3 DDs) then you'll usually get away with quite a bit of profit. Also the best class to make people mad are still CVs. Doesn't matter whether you're a god or a complete potato, both the enemy team and your own will curse your name.

    Use Takao. She's way better for general purpose play. If you're having trouble with aircraft tho, San Diego WILL wipe the skies clean like no other. Not really needed tho until later maps where aircraft do actually become pretty brutal.

    Somewhat. General consensus is that other ships such as Unicorn, Shouhou or Arizona are better as they deal damage while also healing more. Repair ships are usually brought for increased ammo capacity and the emergency repair kits in later maps. Then again if you've kept up with your leveling you won't really need them.     Let me just quote a few passages. So CVs have high match impact, but denying them (aka shooting down their aircraft) apparently has almost no impact. One would think that denying CVs would get pretty big results then, but it doesn't? So a DM with full AA can destroy entire strikes immediately, yet the "confrontation" still results in DFAA usage and maneuvering? Against what? The debris of the planes in the water? More like you're part of the "special" majority which doesn't want to get punished for camping and damage farming.

    Ah, now I get what you mean. Thing is this is already a feature in this game. Where the water is too shallow (or not existent), torps won't activate. It's just that these areas are few and far in between. Ingame torps don't need much water depth after all. The new Halloween Operation with submarines demonstrates that quite nicely. So if you get hit on a side where an island was supposed to cover you, you weren't close enough to the island. When in doubt, it's always better to be closer than further away. As for the rework, it does look like torpedo arming distance has stayed more or less the same, although that ofc could still be subject to change.

    No, they would not. You see, a lot of that bomb damage is actually healable. Such a strike would be thoroughly ineffective and is thus a failure. It's a good trade only in the context of ranked. Besides, RNG is a cruel mistress. Just yesterday I murdered a single Midway squad within seconds in my Worcester alone. And no, I don't run anything beyond AFT + AA range nor did I waste DFAA on it.

    On a more serious note, great stats, quick launch skill and synergy with each other makes them excellent CVs to have. That puts them very close to mandatory in farming priority. Technically speaking since the event is coming up you can substitute them with the cranes instead if you wish. The pairing buff isn't as high but their other skills are pretty neat. That and imo they look better. I still run the foxes tho as I got Zuikaku too late. They do maintain unrivaled air power when used together and are thus technically speaking the "best" pair out of all of them, but the cranes aren't that far behind. And while the bunnies are technically speaking the worst pair primarily as their skills are more situational, they're still perfectly serviceable.

    Wanna know the true secret of my success in CVs? I pay for the "Speshul MM", "Enhanced plane survivability" and "Decreased enemy AA" packages. Just sets me back 1000€ every time I click the battle button. I know many other unicorn CV players do the same. Whoever said that money can't buy happiness clearly has no experience with it. Typical plebs.

    No, it isn't, because CV survivability isn't measured in the hitpoints of the hull. That's easy, because spotting is the most powerful ability one can have in this game as healers do not exist. When using asymmetric role distribution among fundamentally different classes some will inevitably stand heads and shoulders above others, especially if you include several sub-classes too. Thus the ships that can play the information game will always have far more match impact than those that cannot. And it will always be this way unless you make all classes capable of doing so, or remove info gathering altogether. And again you're proven wrong by the entire medium itself. Snipers e.g. should be thoroughly overpowered in pretty much every FPS then if you pick up the realism card, yet that is not the case. Nor are WMDs overpowered in strategy games. Or ranged based classes vs melees such as archers in RPGs. Game design has nothing to do with reality. To even put it up for discussion is ignorance of the highest order.

    Sending only one squad against a Worcester (and against most other ships) is often suicide in itself. Indeed. Balancing around a "lol-I-win-button" along with tons of upgrades/skills you have to take to counter one of the supposed fundamental mechanics was always going to end in failure one way or another. Not that this should be news to WG tho considering how often this has been pointed out. Lets hope the rework does better in this regard if nothing else. On the other hand that'd be WG learning from their mistakes. We all know how likely that is going to be.
