Meh, while it does feel like the AA on CVs is a lot more brutal than on other ships you still only need to clear the mid range AA to be reasonably safe just like with everything else. The only real problem is that CVs can rapidly stack fighters above themselves like no tomorrow.

CN is getting a rerun of Fallen Wings as well? That's news to me. They are, but on Sunday all are available. -
Weird decision. Not that it matters too much considering increased plane speeds allow you to be far further back than feasible in the current RTS iteration, but I distinctively remember WG wanting CV players to move up more? Isn't that a rather contradictory thing to do then?

Wow, they actually verified my ID on a sunday. I wrote my mail completely in English, response I got back was purely in Chinese tho but nothing that Google Translate can't help you understand. -
No, it isn't. At best it shows he has a poor understanding of both the game and game design. CVs can be counterplayed and punished, doing it is incredibly easy even. The only "problem" is that it requires more than two working braincells. As for being subjective, that's a weird statement really. One would believe that if I play all 4 classes and 1 ruins the other 3 I would also want it to be nerfed/removed/whatever. Too bad that isn't the case. I could just as easily accuse you and everyone else as being subjective because "LOL YOU DONT PLAY CV". Would that be truthful tho? They may as well be dead without planes. Sure, you don't gain points but neither do you lose them unless your own CV up tremendously. Or your team is already losing anyway. A CV cannot do anything without aircraft, thus depriving a CV of aircraft to use "kills" them. Of which at most 50 are strike reserves. And I did specify in the current iteration. Thank you for demonstrating your vast game knowledge. So much for having nothing to point at. Did we ask for AP bombs? Those are a direct consequence of people like you whining. And something like this is simply what happens when people like you whine and the dev actually listens. If you want to know who is responsible, again go take a look in the mirror. The only one that needs to try harder is you. Then again expecting someone to understand the value of something without immediate feedback such as a health bar is likely beyond you.

"A game based around infantry engagements is no place for vehicles to begin with." "A game based around close quarters fighting is no place for snipers to begin with." "A game based around armies is no place for WMDs to begin with." etc. etc. etc. Good thing that you can attack CVs by shooting down aircraft and reducing their reserves, aka their health, to zero at least in the current iteration. You don't even need to actively chase him or anything, he has to come to you! That's the ultimate luxury when it comes to counterplay. Not only is your understanding of the game as shoddy as expected from such baseless whining, the fundamental basis of your argument is built on quick sand. Yeah, sure, making CVs pure damage farmers is bad for the game. But hey, this was directly caused by whiners like you, so if you want to know who is responsible just take a look in the mirror and live with it.

Ironically it was a player requested feature to let div mates spawn next to each other (not saying that it wasn't a reasonable request btw). Before that your div mates would spawn randomly. I'd say instead of hard-locking spawns give divisions preferential spawning instead. So for example if there is a 1 DD / 1 CA / 1 BB div, they are almost guaranteed to spawn in the same sector. However if there are 3 DDs like in the case above they will only be spawned together if there are additional DDs to fill vacancies in other sectors, otherwise they will be distributed evenly like if they were not in a div. This will also prevent stupid stuff such as a DD getting a CV spawn far behind everyone else just because he divisioned with a CV and the game sought the closest spawn point.

Played some ranked div with my Zuiho today. Regularly got hits on DDs that could've been dodged easily. Jesus Christ most people are seriously too braindead for this game. -

Seriously tho, Graf Spee is the exception not the rule and she has never been that good of a ship to begin with. All other big gun "cruisers" can take the hit. -
I know. Only WG knows how it really works.
-
A shell or bomb penetrates multiple sections of a ship, thus damage gets applied more than once. Don't ask me how exactly it works, I don't think WG ever explained it properly.

Dabbled around a bit in EN as I currently can't play CN due to waiting on ID verification. Literally the first ship I construct outside of the tutorial is NUMBAH WAN. Is this game trolling me? -
Penetration damage is 33%, which with USN HE bombs is 5100. 5100 x 6 bombs dropped = 30600. Double penetrations can occur with AP bombs just like with AP shells. Still, due to a lack of DoT they are vastly inferior.
-
Currently Haku AP bombs have an alpha strike of 9600. A single attack with 3 citadel hits can thus yield 28800 damage. They also have a far worse drop pattern so you're more likely to miss. Midway HE bombs have an alpha strike of 15300, each DB also drops two bombs. A single attack with 6 penetrations thus can yield 30600 damage + pretty much guaranteed fires. Both repair cooldown and DCP do not cycle fast enough to matter. If a BB doesn't use DCP and heal, fires will consume him before the final attack. If the BB does use DCP and heal, you'll have to deal with permanent fires and die regardless. Cruisers and DDs just die to straight up alpha strike from HE bombs. The only time when AP bombs are superior is when attacking CVs with an armored flight deck. HE bombs simply shatter on both Midway and Haku decks while AP bombs will at least score penetrations.
-
I can reengage within 15 seconds and still make a cross drop. Doesn't work against DDs and cruisers due to slow torp speed (which might change if we get access to torp acceleration) but BBs are fair game. Any BB is pretty much guaranteed to die within two attacks unless RNGesus says no and doesn't give you any floodings. At which point you can just come back within a minute with DBs and kill him regardless. As for AP bombs, why would you need them when HE bombs deal the same damage + fires along with being more accurate? In fact Haku AP DBs are vastly inferior to Midway HE DBs.

Do you hate the Conq Mega Zao? Well, allow me to present Ultra Zao. -
I have yet to play a match in which I didn't get at least 150k damage along with Witherer, Arsonist, Confederate and the like. Active maneuvering is only so successful because most people do not know how to play reworked CVs. The impact hasn't changed, in fact it has imo increased along with the skill gap, the players have.
-
I just managed 100k damage in the first 5 minutes of the match along with two kills on both a player controlled BB and DD. Indeed a huge difference. In current CVs I'd get at most 1 kill on a DD by that time.

Uh, no. The drop pattern gets tighter the longer you fly in a straight line. This includes turning with the mouse. -
Let's do this in reverse - what's the WORST ship for the Ranked Sprints?
El2aZeR replied to Tyrendian89's topic in General Discussion
When both sides have Giulios, which is extremely likely as she is the most popular ship, the WR will inevitably lean more towards 50%. -

Don't think you can check. I imagine it's about the same rate as for construction (2.25%). -

If you WASD early enough even in a BB you can often evade them all as the spacing between IJN torps when auto dropping is laughably bad. -

cv rework CV Rework Beta Test - Feedback thread
El2aZeR replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
I am well aware. It is not only incredibly awkward but simply bad for overall gameplay. I don't want to give up a good striking position just because someone has set me on fire by firing across the map. I know. Personally I don't even bother dropping fighters for allies. I just dump them all over my CV to prevent snipes. I'd just prefer not to return to a meta where half the team had to cuddle the CV to prevent him from being sniped again. We've been there, it is why T8+ CVs got DFAA and one of the reasons fighters were made so powerful with strafing. A return to CV sniping is undesirable for everyone involved to say the least. -

Because as we all know auto drops practically can't be dodged. Oh wait.
