Even more astoundingly they wait until your planes have closed the distance before they activate DFAA. That makes them more intelligent against CVs than some players of top clans that I have seen. And people wonder why CVs are so excessively influential in randoms lol.

Moskva was running DFAA as well. Unsure about Hinden and no one but lower tier CVs care about Mogami AA, DFAA or not. Still, the Worcesters were obviously the primary plane deterrent and with both of us on different flanks there were simply no targets for the enemy CV. Heck, he couldn't even scout. We essentially made him dead weight to his teammates by simply existing. So much for CVs being too powerful. If CVs and/or AA divs were as ludicrously overpowered as most people would have us believe such a stomp couldn't happen. These exceptions prove that neither CVs nor divs are anywhere near as powerful as most people make them out to be, but become excessively influential due to the average player being incapable of even understanding the very fundamental mechanics of the game. I will definitely not deny that the majority of my teammates were very competent, but that simply proves my point, no? Average player skill along with team composition is what enables stomps, not CVs, not divs nor a combination of the two. And this will most definitely not change with the CV rework.

Indeed. Do keep in mind tho that the 2nd floor of the dorm (available for 500 diamonds when the first floor is fully expanded) doesn't grant you the passive exp gain of the first floor, only the morale regeneration. As such you don't really need the 2nd floor. On a more general note, Ayanami Kai will be available on EN soon. Better save up those DD blueprints. -

Could just be an interim reward. E.g. we didn't know about Intrepid until the event actually happened either. I'd be extremely surprised if there isn't at least one new USN ship in this event considering all the teasing they've done lately. Well, to be fair Minny and the two lolis were the only ships I didn't already have. I got NC and Wash from the last time Fallen Wings ran in CN. -
Ironically the first rework test has revealed that the skill gap only became more pronounced as nothing is automated for potato CVs anymore. There is no auto drop for potatoes to fall back on and help cushion general CV stats. The great majority of games I played in no CV but me was able to get a single effective strike through, giving my team the win by default. And unlike current RTS CVs there was nothing the players could do to guard against me. Even Worcesters with DFAA active were topkek targets that die with a single strike, one I can cycle much faster than with current CVs. And that's with people who actually signed up for this. The general population is bound to be worse. The skill gap, among a lot of other aspects, is just a convenient excuse for WG to rework CVs into something more console friendly. Lets not kid ourselves, if the current concept goes through the skill gap will remain as horrible as it is now or even get worse. Because the fundamental problem of the skill gap was never the class itself, it was, guess what, the skill gap. Potatoes will remain potatoes no matter how much you change game mechanics up. It's why current CVs have excessive match influence beyond their design and it's one of the primary reason why stomps occur so frequently. Though ofc it doesn't help that the economy rewards camping and farming damage instead of playing for the win. Beyond adjusting the economy and implementing some decent tutorials though there really isn't much you can do as the playerbase is too small for any kind of skill-based MM. And economy adjustments will never happen as that'll pretty much bankrupt the majority of players instantly, while tutorials won't happen because WG recently stated that they believe those are a waste of time.

Unfortunately for some reason don't have screenshots anymore as Nvidia somehow captured my desktop instead of the game. I DO however still have the replay. Game lasted longer than I thought with 12 mins, but it was practically over after 7.

Just recently stomped a T10 unicum CV + 2x AA div. Game lasted around 8 minutes I believe, the only one who died on our team was our own (completely worthless <40% WR) CV who exposed himself to fire. Because all the skill in the world doesn't help you if there are just a couple of enemy cruisers who know when to push their I-win button.

Honestly when I first heard of that I thought it was a joke. Then a buddy gave me a link to the official BlizzCon announcement video. I could only stare in horror and despair. Kudos to the guy who actually asked the devs whether this is a late April Fools joke tho. That man is a legend.

Because all the facts in the world isn't enough to convince people like you, yet I still try as it's amusing to me. Again, this will make bow camping BBs, a playstyle that takes no skill nor intelligence and is the leading cause of why the high tier meta is as campy as it is, die a little faster. It is not the death of all angling. And again, tanking for the team doesn't work. If you are capable of tanking shells for your team it is entirely a misplay on the enemy's part, not good play on yours. If e.g. you are leading a charge and your squishier teammates follow behind, the enemy team is not prevented from attacking your allies, especially when they're all bow camping BBs, too. Those who try will inevitably fail as the concept itself is flawed to the core. The reason why you will want to close the distance is because your guns become more effective and to take map control. Nothing else. Oh, no, stop it with the facts. The behavior of these people suggests that they will die if they are forced to accept them. -

From what I know ALEN maintenance times are announced in Pacific Standard Time. Just put that into Google and it will show you what time that currently is, allowing you to calculate the time difference to your location from there. For me it'd be 9 hours behind. Yeah, it's future content already available in other regions and will be implemented in EN eventually. -

So when factoring in everything (fire, pen damage, lower hit percentage, shatters, DCP, heal, etc.) I reckon 2 Harus would need around 4 minutes, aka almost a quarter of the total match duration, to kill a single T10 BB with only their guns assuming no intervention from any other ship and said BB being unable to kill one of the two DDs. This is in line with my projections and therefore perfectly fine in my eyes. If this is supposed to be viable then tbh we have very different definitions of viability. Perhaps I also just used the wrong word, it is probably better to call this horribly inefficient rather than not viable. Regardless the change does not represent "the death of angling" as so many others believe. And it most definitely will not make people try to deliberately shoot your AA or secondary mounts. -

The thing is that with 10% damage it IS NOT a viable way of killing anything. 500 shell hits at suicide range against a non-moving, not active target is not representative of any real gameplay situation. It is a baseline of the best possible scenario, which means that this change will not be even remotely near it in actual combat. In this particular example, assuming that all shells hit (which is already impossible) that's, what, a minute of full exposure at a distance where Haru AP can even penetrate? This is what people take as representative? Are you for real? Especially considering just getting penetrations on the superstructure would've killed said Yama much faster? Again, in any real scenario this change will maybe enhance time to kill a bow camping BB with focus fire from several ships from 5+ minutes to at best 3. Personally I'd consider 4+ minutes to be a more realistic assessment. -

Ah, so it's something weird about encouraging to shoot different sections then? It's too bad that this doesn't hold up either. Not only is 10% still vastly inferior to 33%, thus encouraging you to shoot different sections regardless, the amount of sections you can damage when using HE or lower caliber AP shells is extremely limited anyway thus not presenting you with any real choice. -
If WG were actually using bots to pad player numbers the average level of play would be much, MUCH better.

If you're trying to play the realism card here, that doesn't work. Sections of the ship cannot be torn off in this game, therefore damaging hits should stay damaging, especially considering that overpenning saturated sections still yield damage whereas penetrations somehow do not. On that same note I could say that if the entire ship is damage saturated, aka completely shot to , it should sink. Obviously that isn't the case. -
What are you even talking about? Clearly 0vs0 is the most superior and balanced format! If a fight doesn't take place then there can be no winner nor loser! Perfect logic comrade! On a more serious note, I like 7vs7 if only due to giving you more tactical options on the off chance that there actually are CVs in the match.
