  1. So they're planning on making the alt branch of CVs into a healer/utility class. Considering so much of this game is designed around damaging the enemy such abilities would have to be hilariously powerful to be viable. Also I thought they were unhappy with global spotting, yet these utility CVs will get more ways to spot? Should I bet my money on air radar now? @Saiyko I called planes being able to take objectives btw.

Hahaha, I totally missed that tbh. Obligatory

    [Nerf Bat] Yueyang being slaughtered

Player numbers have been stable for the past 2 years, my posts have had no effect nor has anything else. I also fail to see how I am hurting the structure of the game considering I have no influence on it at all as I am not an employee within the WoWs game design/balancing department. And if people like you are stalking me in this forum, frankly I couldn't care less. Anything else you would like to pull out of your aft or will you return to the discussion at hand and how your arguments are hilariously flawed to the core?

    Spotting damage mechanics?

Actually no, because this means that situations in which you earn the full 40% are going to be very rare. And as soon as your target opens fire because, you know, you're permanently spotting him chances are spotting damage is completely negated as now your teammates will likely be able to see him without your help. You don't do spotting for the rewards. You do it for the win.

    [Nerf Bat] Yueyang being slaughtered

And why should I care? What does this even have to do with the topic at hand? Fact is WoWs could in fact sustain itself on the 500-1000 unicums, according to your estimates, on the EU server. That makes your argument moot. What you feel about me changes absolutely nothing. As for my apparent betrayal, I'm following the forum rules and prohibiting people to criticize WG is not nor should be one of them. Thus I will continue to do as I please, as long as I do not violate one of those rules I'll be fine. Your childish pleas are worthless to me.

    Spotting damage mechanics?

It's far less than that. Dependent on what class you play, too. http://shipcomrade.com/?p=875 Unless they changed it but the only change that I remember was that rewards for spotting, tanking, etc. was nerfed even further. No idea whether that was before or after the article was published though if I had to guess I would say after.

    [Nerf Bat] Yueyang being slaughtered

Explaining how f2p games do not need a huge paying playerbase is now being negative towards WG. Okay then. It is hilarious how you always arrive at such wild conclusions from things that have nothing to do with what you're blabbering about. Hey @ShinGetsu, apparently we're one and the same person! I knew we had a lot in common! Seriously tho, even if we were, having multiple accounts isn't against the rules. Nice to see that you're so informed as always.

You don't understand how f2p games work, do you? In most free games a regularly paying customer base of around 5% out of your active playerbase would be considered a commercial success. In WoWs that'd be around 1000-1500 people on the EU server, the total active playerbase on EU fluctuating between 20-30k. And that's considered high revenue, around 2-3% is still pretty good by f2p game standards. So yeah, by your estimates unicums only would actually be able to keep this game alive provided that they all pay. This whole "WITHOUT US YOU WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO PLAY OMG" argument is complete and utter nonsense. (Besides, it's not like WG needs to actually make a profit on WoWs. E.g. they've kept WoWp, a largely dead game, alive for years on end and even had the resources to completely revamp it. WG earns enough with WoT that they actually do not need any of their other games to generate positive revenue. I've seen some numbers and they're staggering.)
  10. Yeah, but isn't this really weird? The primary goal of the rework is to increase the popularity of CVs after all, does this mean interest in the rework is already dwindling so hard that you need to condense the playerbase into fewer tiers? Isn't that exactly the opposite of what you want to happen? (Wouldn't exactly surprise me if that is in fact the case tbh. New gameplay gets stale rather fast.) Personally I would much rather have a smooth progression with small incremental improvements to give people time to hone their skills and gain experience than huge jumps in power. Ordinance a bit harder hitting, ready reserves a bit expanded, planes a bit faster, maybe an extra attack wave every 2nd tier and so forth and so on would be more than fine for tier progression in my book. Comparing the Lexington with the Midway in test 2 meanwhile was like night and day. Maybe that's just me tho.

Tier 10 Domination Games and Death Wish Destroyers

I mean, he isn't exactly wrong considering the rework may just kill the game outright. This isn't about DDs. DDs as a class are fine. This is about the ridiculous amount of sub-par players and WG's outright refusal to do anything to improve the situation. Naturally I can provide plenty examples for potato BBs, CVs and/or cruisers as well.

    The CV Captains Cabin

https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/public-test/cv-rework-changes/ Imo the rework plays okay (it's kinda fun short term but offers no long term motivation) but I still don't see how they're going to balance them as the fundamental concept in itself is broken as has been proven in testing. Not a fan of removing three out of seven tech tree CVs per nation either. Skills and upgrades look fairly okay tho except for RPF working with planes now.

    Should Radio Location be removed?

I mean that they're even considering this is hilarious one way or another. Reworked CVs will very likely remain the best scouts in the game by far, giving them even more battlefield info is just asking for trouble imo. On the other hand I guess it's a huge investment requiring you to take 3x 4-point skills depending on how effective "Sight stabilization" is.
  16. If the fundamentals remain the same I don't see an issue tbh. Still, guess we'll have to wait and see. Alt branch is possible, yeah. I'd prefer a linear and more steady progression though to give new players more time and experience before jumping into higher tiers. Then again that may not be necessary considering the overall gameplay remains the same and doesn't really add things when progressing unlike the RTS version.

    Should Radio Location be removed?

  18. Honestly I don't really see why the removal of tech tree CVs is necessary especially considering dodging AA now comes down to (a very slight amount) of skill, meaning lower tier CVs will be able to reliably damage higher tier ships. I'm guessing this is done for CV popularity reasons (as they've stated on the page), if reworked CVs prove to have a sufficient playerbase they'll probably be moved back in. Still, not a fan considering it removes so many iconic ships. Seriously, what is a USN CV tree without an Essex for example? Skills look pretty good. RPF on planes is hilarious tho, I expect that to change.
  19. We got a new collab on CN. I have no idea what it is about tho. All I understood is that you get a CV with one of the weirdest names I've seen for free with the NPC tag (meaning she will be removed after the event), but you can retain her with all progression once you complete the mission chain. A quick Google search made me come across a game I've never heard about. Then again it's apparently an eroge (name is "Utawarerumono") so I didn't exactly expect to recognize it either. Also if you're into stream giveaways:

    WG is spying with crashreports

On a more serious note: Pretty much everything built into and installed on your PC can be the cause of a crash in a video game. By gathering as much info as possible it becomes much easier to find the cause and develop a fix from there. E.g. if you see that everyone who has regular crashes uses the same graphics card or driver version, that gives you a great starting point.
  21. IJN in general doesn't have short range AA because the 25mm guns count as mid-range. That ironically means IJN AA is even more worthless in the rework than it is now, although that can be said about all AA really.

    wows listen to players ?

We had that already. There's a reason why it was removed. Also T7 can't meet T10 unless you fail div.

    Ban CV *Edited divisions....

It doesn't have to. On smaller maps a single AA cruiser can easily cover two caps, on larger ones coverage of one cap is guaranteed. You have at maximum a bubble a bit more than 17km in diameter to work with, it is up to you to position yourself so that the teammates on your flank do not die to aircraft and likewise is it their job to not abandon you. The speed of aircraft is largely irrelevant because aircraft ultimately have to come to their targets, not the other way around. And while switching flanks is much faster with aircraft, it'll do you no good if the other side is protected as well or simply not of importance. Unlike regular ships CVs can be prevented from attacking by the mere presence of enemy opposition. Contrary to popular belief a CV cannot strike ships across the entire map, because striking ships by e.g. moving along the border of the map not only increases the risk of an opposing fighter response but increases the reload of CVs to ludicrous levels (we're talking about a time in excess of 5 minutes here, aka over a quarter of maximum match duration). Ultimately this means that if you position yourself between the enemy CV and your teammates, your teammates are safe even if your AA doesn't reach them. If you then use a bit of CV playing experience to know which targets are most likely to get struck along with shutting off your AA to ambush aircraft when they've already committed to their attack and you can easily shut down even the best of CV players because, unlike you, they have no counterplay options against this. Case and point And that's only you alone. If you have a second AA cruiser covering the other flank on your team then you need to worry even less about your positioning while practically making the enemy CV worthless beyond his spotting ability. And the more AA ships you have, the more worthless a CV becomes. Basic example This is one of the premier reasons why CVs are so strong in the current meta. Battleships proliferate, so cruisers naturally fade more into the background and/or choose specs that benefit their own survivability at the cost of AA coverage (though ofc the rarity of CVs also plays its part). Even if there are sufficient numbers of AA cruisers on the field chances are they have little freedom of movement or positional choice because as soon as they're spotted I can sic my 5 BB mafia on these poor souls and watch my problems disintegrate. The BB meta is the greatest thing that has ever happened to CVs, although it is about to get trumped by the rework.
