  4. The game has been out for long enough that every garbage player who can fail his way to T10 has failed his way to T10. Besides, T10 economy isn't nearly punishing enough with all the camos and flags WG is throwing around. They've even acknowledged that recently but don't want to do anything about it. Ironically the only class that has a decent economy system are CVs (which is also why people like to say that CVs have a bad economy). You either do all the jobs you're meant to do or you get all rewards. For everyone else just egoistically farming damage will suffice regardless of whether you play for the win or not.
  5. As others have said, there are better choices, but there are worse ones as well. I did actually fully retrofit them just to see whether they're as bad as people say. Answer is, well, yes. Still technically usable but the floatplane air strike you give up so much firepower for is very meh. Not to mention they're completely outclassed by Ise/Hyuuga Kai if you're into BBVs.
  6. I'd be very surprised if anyone with a brain takes more than 2 weeks to git gud. It's not like we're talking about Touhou levels of difficulty after all. Then again the average playerbase already fails the "with a brain" requirement, so considering potato CVs are even more useless than they are in the current RTS iteration the impact of the skill gap will only widen dramatically. I've seen CVs struggle to get a single kill even on low HP targets and consistently miss their drops regardless of armament type. Yes, that includes rockets. I honestly don't even know how you're supposed to miss with rockets barring intervention by RNGesus. Though to be fair the only way to narrow the skill gap down would be to dumb the rework down further and make it easier to play - to the detriment of all other classes. Which is something I definitely do NOT want to see with what is still the most impactful class of the game.
  7. I just stacked air speed + boost duration. This allows me to straight up ignore AA as it requires it to aim so far off I'm already done with my attack run by the time I reach where it is shooting. Glorious MS Paint skills to illustrate my point:

    Planes already regenerate fairly slow, the actual issue is that you practically never lose enough planes for that to ever matter unless you potato hard. Even with fixed plane reserves added it wouldn't make a difference because whereas previously you only needed to destroy two waves before the CV starts running out, now you have to deal with the full reserve amount because fighters don't exist anymore. E.g. to deplane a Midway you'd have to kill all 116 planes with only AA. In the current RTS version you're "only" dealing with about 70 and that's with actually useful AA, lengthy pauses between attacks and the CV helping you with fighters. And quite honestly if it were easy for players to shoot down planes then reworked CVs would be completely useless as their only purpose is to deal damage. If it is not however they automatically become overpowered UNLESS DoT is nerfed hard - to the detriment of other classes. This rework is a fundamental failure. I see no way with which it can be salvaged.

  13. @MrConway Can you guys finally fix the crashes already? It's getting extremely tedious having to restart the game every 5 minutes just because people insist on spamming fighters. Or if you don't know the cause then remove fighters as a workaround. They're useless anyway. EDIT: Ah, nevermind, just saw that the test is ending tomorrow anyway.
  14. USN HVAR rockets do hilarious damage to everything covered in 32mm armor. The aiming circle is completely circular as well meaning your attack vector doesn't matter. French and British BBs beware, 10k salvos + fires per attack are not uncommon. Highest damage rocket salvo so far was 18k with 30 hits. Naturally this means every cruiser but 50mm plated ones are ed as well. Also hilariously enough high tier rocket aircraft can outrun lower tier fighters and, more importantly, AA. Yes, 350kn rocket planes can actually outrun flak bursts. And to add insult to injury, rocket planes also have the fastest reload time by far in both recovery time on deck and ofc plane speed. To proof to you that this is no bull, here's a match of me playing only with rockets.
  15. Crashes definitely have something to do with plane numbers. Just played a match in which I managed to truce it up with the other CVs so we practically didn't use any fighters apart from our CAP (only bots other than us in the match). Didn't experience a single crash. In all other matches there was heavy fighter usage and I crashed at least once.
  16. I think it has something to do with the amount of planes in the air. T4 and T6 CVs naturally have fewer aircraft so this issue doesn't affect them. And now I'm getting the "server overloaded" error. Christ the technical side of this test is a mess once again. EDIT: Yeah, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with plane numbers. In my last match I stopped crashing after my CV teammate was sniped. Might be better to teamkill your teammate just so you can enjoy the game.
  17. Enemy had the cap advantage and was 300 points up. It didn't matter at all. Praised be the rework. /s Also I crashed 3 times in this match, so I would've gotten a lot more done if this client was stable.
  18. [WARNING] Spawning planes can cause crashes. I'm not joking. To limit the amount of crashes I recommend to forgo any use of the fighter consumable. On the other hand spawning planes has a chance to crash you opponent's game as well, so you might wanna gamble especially if you have a fast PC. I actually exploited this in my last game, crashed my own and the enemy CV's game by spawning a fighter then, because I loaded in faster than him, sniped him without resistance.

    No, you didn't. The screenshot you posted didn't have anything to do with ranked as you've already admitted previously. How many more lies do you want to pile up? So now you even put your incompetence on public display. Your first fighter engagement was an idiotic fight to take, you actually let your TBs get strafed which shows you have no minimap awareness and you've failed to get an easy strafe on those DBs, choosing to click instead for whatever reason. Next you make a far too telegraphed strafe attempt at those TBs and actually try to go for a snipe with AP DBs (seriously?!). You fail strafes over and over again, don't take easy to win fighter engagements and choose to strike at worthless BBs instead one of the FOUR overextended DDs which would help your team much more. Jesus Christ, watching you play is actually painful. And instead of blaming yourself for your shoddy play you choose to attack and insult your opponents instead. Classic. You have done NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING worthwhile in that match and were thus a huge liability to your team. That you can even state "watch and see" proudly is mind boggling beyond belief. EDIT: Oh, now you deleted the video from your post? That's too bad, it's not like people can just google for "Xairen twitch" and watch the first video on her channel.

    You don't have a sufficient sample of games played for your WR to be indicative of anything. To put this into perspective, if you happen to lose your next 7 games you'd already be approaching the 50% mark. You have demonstrated an insufficient level of knowledge for playing CVs at T9. That is a fact, it is not a slight against you or any kind of insult. It's not necessarily your own fault either, WG doesn't explain anything ingame after all. Still, now that you know perhaps it's a good time for some self-reflection? Maybe there are more things you do not know or are wrong about?

    To add to the above: The only difference I've noticed between test 2 and 3 is that now a burst will spawn directly on your planes at certain intervals. Annoying for sure, but not enough to do anything meaningful before the strike has expended most of their ordinance. Skilled CV players have actually become far, FAR more dominant in the rework than in the current iteration. I currently maintain over twice my CV average damage in my Midway and can already achieve a topkek 150k in the Ranger. Meanwhile newcomers or potatoes too have become more useless. So much for fixing the skill gap. Killing DDs is a cakewalk, had a game in which I killed 4 DDs and assisted in the kill of the fifth in the opening 6 minutes of the match in my Lexington (to put this into perspective, in the current RTS version I'd be about finishing up my SECOND strike after 6 minutes). Rest assured that I can pull that in any other USN CV as well. Highlight of the day was killing an Akizuki in a SINGLE DB attack a minute into the match with my Midway without a detonation, although to be fair that has remained the exception. Usually you need two or three attacks, but it's rare that a DD survives a strike (and I did kill a second DD shortly after the Akizuki, putting my team 2 ships up in the opening 2 minutes of the match). Even if he does though he'll usually be fodder for whatever DD on your team he runs in to. Likewise cruisers melt under your drops. BBs are the most damage resistant but they also suffer the most from DoTs, making them nice farming material to reward yourself with once all priority targets have been cleared out which doesn't take all that long. If you hate the Conqueror, you're going to uninstall the game in rage because of USN DBs. In my experience DFAA does nothing but intensify the amount and damage of flak bursts (as it states on the consumable description), aka it's completely worthless due to the ridiculously high plane speeds making the AI lead so far off it's not even in your general vicinity if you slow down or turn just slightly, which you will inevitably do to get into an ideal attack position. Said speed also allows you to reach targets from across the map within ~30 seconds, right when DCP runs out if your target has been saving it. Convenient, isn't it? Generally speaking USN torpedo aiming is incredibly fast when you're out of combat and gets significantly worse under AA. At least that's my theory, I'll have to play a few more matches to confirm that. In conclusion AA is pretty much worthless against anyone who has some brains (which to be fair can't be said about the majority of the playerbase). If you find yourself under attack by a skilled CV player, bottom tier or not, you may as well quit back to port. No amount of fighters, DFAA, AA skills or AA stacking with allies is going to save you. Unless ofc you're in a CV yourself. As the only class CVs actually have pretty brutal AA on top of their CAP so it's rare that a squad survives beyond the first attack.
