I fail to see why tbh. Low tier CVs aren't a threat to anyone who can WASD since they can't manual drop. The only adjustments I would make is that T5 can't meet T6 (for obvious reasons) and the 1 CV per team limitation extended down to T7. T6 CVs are in this weird spot where they are pretty powerful when top tier but completely garbage when mid or low tier due to huge power jumps in AA along with extremely low reserves. That can only be solved by rebalancing AA - aircraft interaction entirely and making their progression smooth out, something that has been asked for for years yet has never happened and is never going to happen with the rework on the horizon. That said, I'm not entirely opposed to reducing CVs to 2 per match even in low-mid tiers either if adjustments to them were made. Which again is never going to happen.

How exactly will this not be a problem? As you've pointed out, both potatoes and skilled players will be pushed towards 50%, meaning they will eventually be matched against each other creating the same situation we have now. Using only WR is stupid beyond belief to say the least. Also I can't imagine introduction of skill based MM without a global stat reset. Average damage is useless as a measurement of skill because of the uneven HP, damage potential and match influence distribution of the different classes. Someone who does 40k damage but gets two DDs out of it is much more valuable to his team than someone who gets 120k damage on one BB. Average XP is useless because not only is damage the only real way to earn high XP, every ship earns XP at a different rate. See above. I'm not complaining about good players getting bad stats, I'm criticizing using WR as the only measurement. -

You do realize that skill based MM aims to normalize WR? As in both potatoes and unicorns will get pushed towards 50% WR? How exactly is WR going to be a measurement for skill when everyone is floating around 50%? -
Ofc, but that is assuming the bombs travel slow enough for the ship to catch more bombs when moving rather than being stationary. This spectrum has two possible extremes. On one side we have bombs hitting pretty much instantly at the same time along the path, meaning that both a stationary and a moving ship will catch about the same amount of bombs. This'd make carpet bombing a saturation attack much like rockets. Very unlikely though precisely because of that, if carpet bombing is more effective why ever use rockets? Or if rockets are more effective, why use carpet bombing? Variety already suffers heavily in the rework, the last thing someone should do here is having two weapon types overlapping in use. On the other side we have bombs moving slow enough that a ship moving along the bombing path will catch all bombs, potentially dealing devastating damage. This is however also unlikely due to it being highly impractical, a ship would only have to give WASD a slight tap to dodge such an attack, making regular dive bombing a much more reliable, thus far more effective weapon. So depending on where WG places carpet bombing on the spectrum it'll either be negligibly or quite a bit more effective against ships moving along the bombing path while at the same time becoming easier or difficult to use accordingly. And considering the goal of the rework is to make CV play easier and less complex, my guess would be that they'll lean towards the easier part.

In the translation the professor (or whatever he is) says they play the game to learn about ship building history and naval weapon development of the time. Not actual combat or strategy. I guess there are worse methods out there to do that. Playing NavyField and WoWs certainly sparked my interest to learn more about it. Using WoWs in lieu of spending time and money to develop dedicated software is a fairly simple and pragmatic solution. If something already exists to suit your needs, why create something new? Just like e.g. the US military has been using XBox controllers for years to control some of their hardware. Or in other words: "If it looks stupid but it works, it isn't stupid."

Bombs traveling slow enough for that to be possible sounds extremely impractical to me. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Sounds like carpet bombing will only reaĺly be useful/easy to use against slow and sluggish ships. Or bow/island campers. Just like the rest of the rework is aimed to utterly murder such a playstyle. I guess the year of the BB has finally arrived.

Please guys, don't ask for UI improvements. The last time they "improved" the UI we got the new awful division window. Seriously though, the UI is arguably the most neglected part of this game and has been since... well, forever. One can only hope that WG will finally do a complete overhaul someday because it sure as needs it.

Ah, so it WAS you after all! Big surprise. Your "high ethics standards" don't seem to prevent you from lying out of your aft it seems. Again, your average damage isn't sufficient to "vaporize" anything. As evidenced by you reversing in spawn in your BB, shooting at targets 20km away.

Does this matter somehow to how the person in question has essentially stated that the Asashio is garbage (which reflects the opinion of pretty much every skilled DD player here), which you're still vehemently denying by pointing towards your garbage performance in her? I'm guessing this was your "little brother" again, huh? Good.

Actually it does make sense. You see, WG believes that the current RTS version of CV play has problems and needs to be more popular. No one in their right mind can deny that. At the same time they need to develop CV play for the console audience. By doing away with the RTS version they get the opportunity to, in their eyes, fix and revitalize CV play on PC while at the same time saving time and effort to develop dedicated CV play for consoles, essentially killing two birds with one stone. Thus while crossplay or sth along those lines may not ever be a factor, conceptualizing the CV rework on PC around consoles still is saved time, money and manpower.- 81 replies

And in neither do you deal enough damage to kill a BB. Heck, in a Repu you'd be struggling to kill a cruiser. Again you're making claims with no proof to back them up. Facts meanwhile point towards you being one of the worst players in this game.

Nah, actually I can't. Fighters are actually just straight up fast enough to outrun flak with boost if you spec for it. I'm not even joking. With TBs you need to know when the last wall of flak spawned. Depending on that you can just time your turn when pulling out of your attack run accordingly. DBs just don't give a about anything because mid range flak stops shooting entirely once you're close enough.- 81 replies

For s sake... The "time limit" is only there because the way missions are programmed they apparently require an end date to be given. In reality the Legendary Upgrade missions are available indefinitely until you finish them, you won't lose progress once the year ends. You could've found that out if you had poked around a bit as you are hardly the first one to complain about this. -
Again, your average damage is incapable of sinking a single BB, let alone multiple. That is a fact. What you are doing is making a claim, not stating facts. Facts have to be proven and you have given no proof whatsoever. In fact all you have proven so far is your incompetence and that Asashio is a garbage ship.

Actually AA isn't RNG anymore for the most part which is one of the reasons why reworked CVs are so hilariously broken. From my experiences in test 3: Long range AA is completely RNG and periodically hits your planes directly but is also unlikely to deal any lasting damage. Mid range AA always throws a wall of flak directly into your path at certain intervals. If you can count, use WASD and/or mouse 1 mid range AA will never be a problem. If you can't though mid range AA will cause tremendous losses. Short range AA does such pathetic damage even on the most heavily armed ships it'll never play any part in losses unless you've taken severe damage beforehand. So now you are either skilled, being able to weave through even the most dense of flak thrown at you, or you're not, at which point you will lose your planes with every single attack. This means whether a CV can attack or not depends entirely on the skill of the CV player. What the target does isn't even part of the equation and as such they have no counterplay options.- 81 replies
