    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

Except a CV is a warship too you know? Pretty prominent one too to say the least. Personally I'd find it very weird if carriers weren't represented in a game about warships. Although the same thing could be said about subs tbh. (In fact one of the first things a friend of mine asked me when he saw me play WoWs was if there are subs in the game.) This is all ofc completely subjective as you've already pointed out. Imo not really. It's just that you notice it far more often as plays/misplays related to CVs are easily some of the most noticeable actions in a match. Your example with the Tirpitz and such is highly noticeable because it is always displayed on the minimap and you'll eventually see the bombers come in and take their easy kill. On the other hand a e.g. DD that gets caught out by torps because he decided it'd be a great idea to camp in smoke is much less telegraphed when you're on the other side of the map. A CV player on the other hand tends to notice such things thanks to the top down view. So be glad you don't play CVs, you'd probably have hammered that palm through your skull already if you did.

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

Honestly that is not up to you, nor any of us for that matter, to decide. I guess we also need to remove: - torps - armor - DoT - radar - smoke - hydro etc. etc. etc. The general population isn't bright enough to accept anything beyond "hurrdurr press mouse 1 to shoot".

    0.8.0 PTS - General Feedback

Fighters lock on to you when arriving, will proceed to chase you even after you leave the circle once they "go active". Unsure if this is supposed to be like this. Fighter map circle doesn't seem entirely accurate, have had multiple instances in which I got targeted by a fighter despite being clearly outside of the circle according to the minimap. Plane control remains incredibly sluggish.

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

Can't say beyond having seen some rather filthy AP bomb hits on surface ships. Haven't played them yet on the PTS. If they haven't changed much compared to previous test iterations though I'd class USN as superior as they have far better anti DD and DoT capability thanks to their HE DBs.

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

I guess in your special world where DDs can be killed by servicing planes, yes, RTS CVs are only about damage farming. It's not like you have to scout and fight for air superiority or sth while wisely picking your targets as you have the slowest rate of fire by far. Let me tell you something as a Touhou player and someone who has more than just a few matches in the rework then: The complexity of reworked CVs is pathetically low. AA always follows the same pattern and can always be avoided the same way regardless of what or how many ships are shooting at you. Attacks always follow the same pattern and can always be successfully pulled off regardless of what your target does. Hull control/consumables is completely automated and as such no more complex than breathing while bad positioning isn't punished nearly as hard anymore thanks to increased plane speeds. Fighters are currently fire and forget on whatever target is in your proximity, which has no impact at all thanks to unlimited reserves, and all other consumables are straightforward. After about 5 matches with a T8+ CV you have seen everything that you needed to see and learned everything that you needed to learn (unless ofc you are a braindead ).

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

Played a couple of rounds in PTS today. Here are my impressions: Langley is extremely boring to play but can be surprisingly effective when given enough time or some blessings from RNGesus. BBs have little to fear aside from potential perma fires, cruisers and DDs get chunked up pretty good with rockets and bombs. Verdict: Fairly strong or mediocre depending on RNG. Sealclubbers should stick to Clemson etc. for a more fun and/or effective experience. Ranger feels okay to play and utterly brutalizes same tier ships regardless of class. Combine that with the pathetic AA of the tier (I could often just fly in a straight line for ages without a single flak puff coming near me) and we're possibly going to see a lot of seal clubbers migrate to T6 CVs. Verdict: Overpowered against same tier ships. Didn't get up tiered with her yet so I can't comment on that but given how the AA system works I don't expect much difference. Lexington is a Ranger dialed up to 11, being able to murder even T10 ships without much issue. Verdict: Completely overpowered. Midway is a Lexington on steroids. Verdict: If you don't plan on playing reworked CVs, take a break when the rework hits or outright uninstall. Save yourselves the pain. And again, the fundamental issue is that AA can be dodged, leaving surface ships with no reliable means of defense (no, maneuvering doesn't work even in the most nimble of DDs). I once flew through the combined AA of two Midways, a Baltimore and a Hindenburg in my Lexington without taking much damage. Proceeded to slam the Hinden with a 10k damage drop until the CAP of both CVs finally noticed me and killed my squad. If it hadn't been for those fighters I probably would've crippled or outright killed the Hinden. On the other hand if AA cannot be dodged the whole concept of the rework falls apart very quickly. Fighters cannot be cheesed anymore btw as they will immediately target and chase you down once you have been in their patrol zone even when they weren't active yet. On the other hand that means you can just pop a fighter directly on top of someone and farm some free plane kills ~30 seconds later when your fighters finally catch up with the enemy squad. It's not like this is of consequence after all with unlimited plane reserves and hilarious plane speeds. My recommendation: When you see the fighter icon light up, finish up one attack then abandon the squad. You will rarely get a second successful attack in.
  7. - E2H phase 1 boss on last dance - Green T - LBAS + support shelling clears out all but 1 escort - Fleet hammers boss down to below 100 HP - ez night battle inc - entire fleet only inflicts scratch damage, boss survives on 17 HP REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EDIT: Welp, got this immediately after:

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

Are you for real? Montana doesn't have radar. And you still didn't get the point. When someone enters the detection range of YOUR ship, you get an indicator that you have been detected. You know, this ing thing: So if you get detected without yourself detecting someone, you can be pretty sure that there is a DD in the area. Jesus Christ, you don't even know about fundamental gameplay mechanics after 2.5k battles. Go do yourself a favor and go l2p before posting something as mindblowingly stupid as the stuff above again.

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

Which isn't the point. Lets pick a Montana. Montana has at minimum a concealment of ~13km. That means you cannot get torped in a Montana without getting detected first by the vast majority of DDs. That's how you tell there is a DD around.

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

If you do not have a ship with good AA, seek cover from those that have. And no, you cannot get torped without knowing that the DD is there. With very few exceptions, one of which you can dodge torps from even if you get caught completely off guard, no DD can torp from beyond your own detection range, meaning the detected icon will give away that he's in the area. And with a bit of map awareness you can easily discern where he is in most cases.

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

For torps, change your rudder and speed periodically when you know there is a DD in the area. If you know which specific DD is attacking you, you can watch the clock on the top right corner and time your turns accordingly assuming you know the respective reload speeds. For CVs, pick a ship with strong AA, DFAA and/or a few AA skills and CVs will learn to avoid you or suffer the consequences.

Why World of Warships suffers in gameplay.

Sounds like you need a healthy dose of git gud. Avoiding torps or being safe from aircraft is pathetically easy. And since you already admitted that this isn't difficult for "Flamu types" then we can conclude that this is a player issue, not a design or balance problem. Well, guess what current CVs don't get? That's right, unlimited planes. And even better, the planes have to come to you to deal damage, meaning they are inevitably forced into your AA range. You don't even need to actively do anything to shoot them down. That's the easiest counterplay option you could ever ask for.
  13. Well, , I guess the entire Pacific theater of WW2 is unrealistic then according to you.
  14. Guess what tanks had these features as well? Hint: They're already in the game. Hilarious contradiction is hilarious.
  15. Ah, so your universal game design principles somehow only apply to two specific games. Interesting, I guess we can dismiss that as complete nonsense then. Far Cry is a singleplayer experience at its core. It is not a PvP game. Which means what you're jabbering about is entirely personal opinion with no basis in game design and as such can be dismissed outright. I'm actually quite sure it would be quite a bit more popular and profitable than WoWs currently is considering the Asian market. And before you ask why WG doesn't do it, it's because they don't hold the rights to SBY.
  16. And, pray tell, on what data do you base this on? Have you seen a test iteration of modern MBTs in WoT? Do you have any prototypes that are in the concept stage? Do you have anything beyond "muh realism", which again doesn't fly, to back this up? And while I have no idea how you would implement modern MBTs into WoT (as I do not play the game), I have plenty of examples that contradict your "lol realism". To name just a few examples: - WMDs in strategy games - ranged weapons in a medieval setting - snipers/vehicles/artillery in infantry battles
  17. Yes, the M1 Abrams is a MBT. So is the Patton. What is your point?
  18. Here. I guess we need to remove BBs too. One of these days you will realize that it is the direct goal of any PvP game to ruin the fun of your opponent, as such the fun of being interacted by a mechanic is completely worthless and never taken into consideration in game design. It was basically a reskin of the game with no particular differences. There was no need to keep it. That said, Arms Race is equally unrealistic yet that one is set to permanently hit the live server. The Leopard 1 isn't a MBT? The Centurion isn't a MBT? The AMX 30 isn't a MBT? The Patton isn't a MBT? The T62 isn't a MBT? The Strv 103 isn't a MB... wait, that one is actually debatable. Are you seriously this daft?
  19. Physics does not equal game balance. We had that. No players left as a result.

PSA: Concealment nerf coming up in 0.8.0, hitting mainly cruisers

You can see when your own aircraft are detected. After that happens you only need to apply some basic map awareness to find and kill that DD yourself. After all why spot for the team when you can just kill everything yourself? It's just that while you are attacking you're going to be lighting up every ship in that specific area along with whatever ship is your target. You also have a far smaller downtime in between attacks unlike currently. That means while you alone are nerfed in terms of global spotting, you become far more oppressive locally. And with 2 CVs per team that inevitably means spotting actually increases compared to the current one high tier CV per team system.

With carriers returning to the game in force, will concealment even be worth a darn anymore? From testing I can say: lol no.

    Not enough objective/capping rewards

True for 2016. Not so much for 2018. It's not even half of what it used to be. While the solo cap reward is still the biggest single bonus you can get, that's only by virtue of every other team based action giving even more pitiful rewards. Farming damage easily overshadows all of them nowadays.

    Fara on carrier rework

More like the CV gets a free kill. Unless you get caught completely off guard with a torp spread it takes ages for a DD to kill you thanks to the pitiful DoT damage inflicted on reworked CVs, while you only need like 30 seconds to kill the offending attacker. And since you can just return to your CV whenever you want you'll always be ready to defend yourself. Ironically that makes reworked CVs far better at self defense than current CVs. They've now labeled no hull control while flying as a deliberate weakness and stopped insulting our intelligence. I can live with that tbh.
