    The problem with reworked CVs is that dealing damage is their one and only thing. If you nerf that they have nothing left. This was bound to happen the moment WG decided upon going the single squad direct control route. A thorough fundamental failure that can never be made to work. Here is to hoping that WG will pull the plug on the rework after a few days of mayhem. Yes, I'm well aware that the chances of that happening are practically nonexistent.

    Wanna know something funny? Atlanta/Flint are now among the worst AA ships because most of their AA power is concentrated on the easily dodged long range ones. As both an avid Atlanta and CV player, this is sad and hilarious to me at the same time.

    I guess you've only seen gameplay of T10 CVs? T10 CVs have armored flight decks. These have way higher armor values than even the most heavily armored BBs. That automatically means rockets and HE DBs are useless while AP DBs have questionable efficiency. Inevitably that means the only aircraft effective against them are TBs. Not many people seem to realize this for some reason and prefer to get all the 0 damage shatters instead. Fires also burn only for 5 seconds while flooding at least lasts 30. So to snipe a T10 CV you just need to spam TBs over and over. Don't even wait for a full flight, just start whatever you have on deck. Everything not T10 easily gets melted by rockets/DBs too just like every other class.
  4. Midway HVAR rockets with Demolition Expert are topkek. You're basically guaranteed at least one fire per attack.

  6. Had to give up on E2 hard as well. The attrition I suffered was simply too much to take. Still, another Mark 37 GFCS is very nice so I can live with it. Also those fairies on the 5"/38 Kai. :D Unsure if doing map 3 on normal is worth it. Type C Kouyouteki looks nice but I'd rather have an easier time farming for Johnston.

  9. Who knows? I wouldn't put it past WG tho to add magazines now that there is more than 1 CV per team and they feel like CVs have been "balanced".
  10. Here's an interesting question btw: Can CVs now detonate? (For those that don't know, currently CVs can't suffer detonations because they don't have magazine spaces placed into them.)
  11. Almost everyone I see in randoms is in a clan nowadays. It's not rare that they're the sole member, too, so I wouldn't take that as a measurement for anything. How? Don't ask me, last time I checked you need doubloons to create a clan. If they're happy to waste money like that... Then again I'd probably be very worried for myself if I could understand the mindset of the average player.

    It's very simple, really. The primary goal of the rework is to make CVs more popular. If they happen not to be, WG will make an effort to make them more popular or otherwise they just look dumb as as they essentially would have wasted so much time and manpower for nothing. That inevitably means buffs over buffs. So you better pray that reworked CVs will be more popular.
  14. Because you've been spouting nothing but garbage ever since your first post. Respect is earned, not given. You have done nothing to earn my respect. lol no. Not a single thing is even worth considering. You have failed to demonstrate knowledge about every single thing you've touched upon, be that game mechanics, design or even just the fundamentals of naval warfare. They've literally stated in an official Q&A that they've removed jets because of the immersion. If that's unclear to you, be my guest. Again, they've replaced them with aircraft that LITERALLY had the same stats. As such balancing wasn't even a remote concern. Thus it actually invalidates your point. They could've easily kept the jets if they felt like it.
  15. Uh, no. The aircraft that replaced them literally had the same stats. It was more for immersion as jets were flying at almost stall speeds.

    According to Darth they actually aimed for 4 CVs per team. Which is precisely what is currently happening on the PTS.
  17. And where did this sudden transition into grenade launchers come from? Infrared sights, DU and sabot rounds among other things were equipped on some of the tanks I listed. The very tanks that are already in the game. The Midway used to have jet aircraft. And no, they were not removed because of balancing reasons. You just love digging your hole deeper and deeper, don't you?
  18. Not only is your knowledge level of this game lackluster to say the least, your understanding of games in general is practically nonexistent. Hint: A simulator is precisely what you want. It has nothing to do with how many persons you control.

    Concerning the upcoming CV rework

    Take off order is dependent on what CV you and your opponent plays. Roughly goes like this: IJN vs USN: TBs first. Fighters 2nd. If your enemy starts TBs first you get a free first strike as his planes service so long compared to yours. USN vs IJN: Fighters first. TBs 2nd. If you start anything else first the enemy gets a free strike if he starts TBs first. vs GZ: Fighters first. GZ is the fastest servicing CV in the game by far, anything but fighters first will give him a free strike. Same nation against same nation: TBs first. Those have the fastest service time and thus provide spotting info earlier than other types. Fighters next, those won't be behind too far so you'll be well within position to defend your allies if your opponent has also started TBs first. Fletcher? Better guns, (arguably) better torps, faster torp reload, USN smoke and DFAA while only being slightly slower and having a bit worse detection.

    Well, you have other teammates as well. A CV cannot always be in position to defend you, he'll at least have to rearm eventually. E.g. having a Worcester within ~10km or so that you can retreat to when you see planes on the horizon tends to deter an enemy CV from venturing into your general area a lot more than "just" fighters. And when in doubt, you can always div up with someone to guarantee AA coverage. Helps against surface threats too (obviously). Imo Shima is still worthless when compared to alternatives, but that's a different topic altogether.

    Well, Shima practically negates itself, so.... Seriously though, this is nothing that a bit of tweaking wouldn't fix. E.g. you could just make planes incapable of spotting torps for starters (as I have advocated for over a year, but since I'm a skilled CV player WG ofc ignored me).

    And here's my problem with this (hence why I am so harsh). How does this never even cross your mind after 2.5k battles? The mechanics are extremely simple to understand, something like this should be obvious to anyone. And I can't really put all the blame on your shoulders for it either because WG does all to teach players the fundamentals of the game, nor do they seem to hold any interest in doing so.
