I hate the Discord UI. Never could get comfy with it. Then again I pretty much "grew up" with TS so I am most likely biased.

If you take a look at the armor scheme there is a small gap between the turtleback and the citadel itself. It is possible, albeit difficult to hit that gap through the bow/stern and thus score citadel hits at certain angles.

You see ship everytime commissar Fara returns from piloting planes? There is your SHIP comrade. According to glorious supreme leaders devs this is much more immersive and integrated with other classes xaxaxaxaxaxa! Do not dare question it or you get sent to gulag!

I would increase the DPS of fighters by a fair margin so that they pose a serious threat to massed strikes. I would also make it so that fighters can move at reduced speed just like regular bombers when attacked by other fighters, doing so should cut down the DPS to a fraction until reengaged. I'd also reduce the ammo of USN fighters a bit while unifying fighter squad amount and strength between the two nations. This is the standard I would then start balancing from. As for the current CV rework, I'm not only skeptical, I know it's a complete ing disaster. A few damage increases for flak bursts here and there won't do anything as the actual problem is that a skilled player is practically never going to get hit by those anyway. However if a skilled player gets hit regardless of what he does then the whole reworked gameplay concept falls apart. As such the rework is inherently broken and cannot be balanced. And I say that as someone far more successful in the rework than I am with current RTS CVs. If it were in my interest to make CVs as overpowered as possible I'd be supporting the rework.

You didn't even read a single sentence of what I wrote, didn't you?

It's definitely among the biggest issues, yes. Ideas on how to fix it have been thrown around for years, but ofc all fell on deaf ears.

Can provide some footage after all since replays are working, albeit very buggy. You can't see the reticle for example but that's not what this is about anyway. For all intends and purposes DD AA can be completely ignored. Worcester AA is a lot more dense but nothing a bit of WASD can't handle. Also note that AA literally stops firing when you're too close so you can use that to reposition as well. Oh the irony. The safest place from flak is directly on top of the enemy ship. You do realize that CVs cannot be captained by bots? C'mon, you can't be that stupi- *remembers you stating that planes can kill stuff while servicing*... nevermind. Also Haru and DM were actual players as can clearly be seen by their usernames. If anything bots have demonstrated that they're more intelligent than the average player.

Clearly.

I guess Habakkuk as the T10 RN CV sounds reasonable, too.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

At 1:15. So either S_O meant that they fixed a bug but created another one in the process, is mistaken or they're ing us over. -

Ya'll ready for some more topkek footage? If you wanna run some tests in the training room, I'm up for it.

Because she is so large Harugumo takes even more topkek damage from HVAR rockets than other DDs. RIP all the people who free exp'd or grinded that ship. -
Which are of no direct threat to anyone but the enemy CV. That means a reworked CV has more effective reserves than a current CV. But if you wanna count fighters too, reworked Midway gets 2x fighter consumables per type of plane which summons a squad of 12 fighters each. She also has a permanent CAP of 12 fighters which get refreshed every time they get shot down. Adding that to your previous count a reworked Midway has a total of at least 190 plane reserves.

I actually recorded it. ^^

Brainstorming about the hordes of new 35% winrate high tier players
El2aZeR replied to Praevasc's topic in General Discussion
Pff, that's nothing. Ever seen a triple Khaba div all trying to play like a torp boat? Then talking you when you tell them she's a gunboat because "LOL DDS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO USE GUNS"? Because I have. -
I meant a source for the stats since you're obviously the guy running the site. E.g. where are you getting the stats for the premium CVs from? Afaik nothing in that regard has been released yet.

A source would be nice.

CV gameplay from a CL player's point of view, first impressions
El2aZeR replied to Butterdoll's topic in General Discussion
I educated myself as much as possible about the subject before playing then just started out in randoms. Once I inevitably got trashed by some unicum Saipan I spent about 500 games in my Hiryu gitting gud before moving on to T8+. Not the most optimal way to learn how to CV I suppose. You're already a far better person than I am by starting out in coop first. -

Should I start telling you about all the Worcesters and Grozovois who never even activate DFAA when I attack them in a CV? Or that GK who told me to l2p because "ONLY CRUISERS HAVE HYDRO"? The average standard of play is abysmal. I don't think anyone can deny that. Regardless though, WG has already stated a few months ago that they're not interested in making any ingame tutorials. The funny thing about that is previously they stated in-depth tutorials are in the making with the first about to launch. That was sometime in 2017 I believe. -
The ? The reason I do not want to see strafing removed is because 1. it gives some skillful interaction to fighter play and 2. it gives fighters some actual means of shutting down massed strikes. You should also do well to remember that strafing was a PLAYER REQUESTED feature. As in other classes begged WG for giving CVs the means to do some actual damage to their opponent. Is strafing perfect? No, far from it. It is however a viable solution to the problems at hand. If you want to replace strafing, that's fine. There are plenty of ideas as to how to improve fighters while removing strafing which I am more than ready to support, but to return fighters once again to glorified spotters (to the detriment of surface vessels) I am most certainly not. And to call fighter combat even before the introduction of strafing is a stretch at best. USN CVs had an overwhelming advantage by sheer numbers, strafing ironically gave IJN CVs a means to fight back instead of just taking the default loss in the air.

Here, this is a good start:

C'mon, you can't tell me you didn't see this coming from a thousand miles away. WG was never going to remove CVs and anything they do with their profound love for potatoes would inevitably end up in disaster. Which might have been the case in the past but currently there are a plethora of ships which can easily deny literally everything a CV does when needed. The only ability that cannot be blocked is contesting air superiority, something which affects no one but CVs ironically. Which is the age old argument of the few vs the many. Someone who is talented with an AWP will inevitably get from those who aren't. Someone who can exploit cheeses very well will inevitably be called a toxic game ruiner despite cheese being hilariously easy to counter. The people who use juggling or choke someone out in the corner will get called cheap. The guys who pick the most viable and effective team composition will be named as try hards. And so forth and so on. It doesn't matter how many counters you build in or how easy they are to do. People will always hate them because naturally in a PvP game your direct goal is to ruin the fun of your opponent. That also means it doesn't matter what the player feels, what matters is that there are viable counters to whatever mechanic you implement. As such player feedback regarding the "fun" of being a target for your mechanics can be ignored pretty much completely. The only thing that matters is that the mechanics you design are fun to use and there are ways to counterplay them accordingly. Wanna know something funny? DDs used to be in the same boat as CVs. The comparatively few people who play DDs would inevitably get by one class in particular because "OMG DD IS TOO STEALTHY AND SAFE. COMPLETELY EZ MODE PLAYSTYLE. JUST SPAM TORPS AND SMOKE CAMP ALL DAY". Every argument about how you should just WASD or stick with your cruisers for hydro support would inevitably be shut down. "LOL YOU CANT EXPECT ME TO WASD ALL THE TIME." "MUH CRUISERS WONT PUSH WITH ME!" etc. etc. etc. As a beta player yourself you should remember that time well. it means that game design isn't limited by real life. What made or didn't make what obsolete is thus completely irrelevant. Lets say for a moment that there were tactical nukes in the game. A completely overpowered concept in terms of real life, right? Yet if you'd simply give them a ton of channeling time along with some obvious indications where they're gonna hit they'd easily be the most situational, and thus one of the weakest weapons in the game. I'm not enthusiastic. The problem is getting hit by AA in the first place. Increasing the damage will only punish potatoes and thus increase the skill gap even further. Then again that might be what they're going for? Just rewarding skilled play? That'd still leave the surface ship without counterplay options though. Also Kek. As if you need any more proof that the Aux mod 1 upgrade is completely useless. Any skilled CV player could've told them that, but alas why would you ever listen to us?
-
And with those WG saw the need to throw CV play on its head completely. These people are at least partially responsible, don't you dare try to wiggle out of it now. And how exactly are current CVs overall "toxic"? Is it because they require the average player to have more than two working braincells to counter them? Well, that means a plethora of other mechanics can be deemed toxic as well, no? Weird how "MUH HISTORY" comments never fly when it comes to other classes but apparently with CVs they do.
