Average players are much more useless in the rework, too. They can't dodge flak, thus lose all their planes pretty much the entire time, and they can't hit anything. They could literally have about the same match impact by going afk. As for bots, you do realize that the only reason CV averages were so "low" in testing is because bots actually play the objective and do not island/bow camp all the time? If anything damage numbers should dramatically increase once the rework hits live.

No they cannot. There is no interaction, thus no counterplay for the target. Maneuvering doesn't do anything and DFAA likewise doesn't do anything against an actually skilled CV player. The AA buff is meaningless as the damage of flak bursts can be entirely avoided. Did you even read or are you once again incapable of that? Whether you oneshot something doesn't matter. The overall damage output of reworked CVs outclasses current CVs by a huge margin. I also would not have been able to even go remotely close to the Grozovoi as it would wipe out my entire strike easily. And no, bot DDs will always dodge auto drops. Shows how much experience you really have. As expected from someone who thinks every CV is a Kaga. -

I can assure you that players usually fared worse compared to bots as bots at least had their AA active. Most players didn't even consider activating theirs when under attack. As for CVs on live, this was an 8 minute game. I would have only been able to fly 2 full strikes in 8 minutes. That means at most I would have been able to kill 2 DDs on the live server with CVs in the same timespan I practically killed 4, one of which was a Grozovoi which is practically untouchable by planes on live, along with harassing a Zao. -

Ah, yeah, nevermind. Just checked the table Darth provided. Completely forgot that in high tiers IJN planes are actually slower than USN ones. So the max speed a plane currently can have is 261kn without AR (AR makes planes go faster with HP loss, but that usually does you more harm than good). -

Kinda funny considering I didn't write an insult whatsoever in my view. Clearly mods thought otherwise. But if you want to know the part of the post that was not considered offensive but got edited out anyway, it was: Clearly. And it's also funny how you always seem to jump ship as soon as your previous one is sinking. First you outright lie about Hinden and all KM BBs getting oneshot by AP bombs, when called out on it you lie about single CVs and when that doesn't work anymore you try to bs your way out of your initial statements. When that gets called out you do nothing but hide behind something else again. Tell me, which one of us is running out of arguments here?

Yes. Because you have nothing else to fire them at as they cannot be used to flush DDs or cruiser out of their preferred positions which is crucial in the early game. You just basically stated that Asashio torps suck, forcing you to attack targets with negligible chance for success or impact as they cannot be used otherwise.

Nah, the alt CV lines will follow the first line in tonnage progression. There will only be one new CV introduced (Yorktown at T8), all others are the current T5/7/9 CVs that are being removed from the tech tree with the rework. Alt line will get support abilities as a trade for lower damage potential. Stuff like enhanced spotting (probably air radar), taking caps, setting smokes, extinguishing fires and, if it ever becomes necessary, ASW. You can already view the preliminary tech tree in the relevant post on the dev blog, also found in the "info from around the world" thread.

Considering WG has already put forth some seriously weird ideas for the alt CV lines that are supposed to come out later I don't see this as impossible.

Early ingame situation in which defeat for either side is inevitable no matter what they do or how long the match goes on. E.g. if a team is just camping in spawn and let their opponents take all caps it doesn't matter how well they trade ships or how long they do it, they are going to lose unless the other team throws hard (which seems to be an increasingly common experience, really).- 48 replies

Do you actually follow the thread or always think everything is about you? The other guy said firing torps at targets over 16km away is a legit approach to the game. I could say the same about torping the common spots and getting a cheeky kill out of it. Seriously, what part of these guns are great? They have underwhelming DPM and as such low fires per minute. If you're shooting at cruisers and BBs their mediocre ballistics don't matter either as these ships can be shot at with about the same success even with the USN 5"/38s. The enemies you outspot by a huge margin don't care about being spotted and the enemies you don't will usually spot you before you will even render them if you're sailing anything but a near parallel course. A mere 400m difference to something is rarely enough to react and only an incredibly stupid DD is going to let himself get spotted by such for a long amount of time. They can either choose to engage, which you can't deal with by virtue of being slow as , or they can disengage for the same reason. Your stealth is meaningless because the enemy DD dictates the situation and choose how to approach it, not you. If you get outspotted by an Asashio, or any other IJN torp DD for that matter, you turn away if he has support or you turn in if he doesn't. Either will save you and doom them, neither can they counter. This is why IJN torp DDs fail even as spotters. Sure, every other DD you will spot at the same time, but every other DD presents a credible threat on its own, not just with support.
