    I actually thought PEF is pretty okay. Sucks when up tiered but so do a lot of T6 BBs. If you're used to playing Kongo then PEF should give you plenty of decent results.

    Oh forgotten thread lost to the ages. Arise and return to the frontmost pages! Just thought about updating this but didn't want to create a new thread for that. Changes in skills/upgrades are underlined. Captain skills Upgrades EDIT: There were a few changes between PTS and live but my build remains the same. EDIT2: This is now also highly outdated due to severe changes to AA and the meta. No updated list has been made so far. Maybe I'll do it someday.

    Spam 20km torps with Shima or 16km torps with Gearing I guess? Completely serious suggestion btw. Doing anything but cuddle the relative safety of your AA ships is practically suicide against a skilled rework CV player (and even then he can kill you, it just takes more time and effort to do it). DFAA DDs too die extremely quick on their own unlike the current iteration. On the bright side the vast majority of CV players are likely going to be potatoes as with any other class. Against those you can basically play like you do now as even DD flak bursts will murder squads if they don't bother to dodge.

    And what sort of "hacks", pray tell, do you think exist? An aimbot would be horrible as an aimbot naturally cannot predict how your opponent is going to maneuver. Aimbots are useful for hitscanning games or games in which projectiles travel fast. That is not the case in WoWs. A maphack cannot exist unless you can somehow hack into WG servers and stream down information of your particular match as ships that aren't spotted simply aren't "visible" to your client. All that leaves is a wallhack of sorts that allow you to see your opponents behind cover, something that can also be easily estimated with sufficient skill too. And while such a modification of the game is and should remain illegal, it is hardly the end of the world.

    Isn't Haku the planned Taiho Kai, otherwise known as Project G-15? She's a paper project to be sure but I don't believe she is completely fictional. And tbh I prefer Haku over Shinano. Getting chased down by anything faster than a Yama doesn't sound like a particularly fun time to me.

    1:25 mins actually. The poor bot didn't even get close to the cap it was going for. And considering most DD players tend to rush caps while their support usually prefers to stay further behind unlike the bots which rush caps with their DD counterparts I believe this is going to be a common occurrence on live. Exemplified by a player Fletcher whom I reduced to <100 HP (that's not a typo) in the opening 2 minutes in one of my other matches. He instantly ragequit after that. Admittedly the lower tier CVs aren't as good at killing DDs but they can easily shave off half - 3/4 of your health with one squad rendering you incapable of contesting caps anyway. Or if they're skilled/lucky enough almost oneshot you with a single DB attack. I've had hits as big as 13k with those on DDs and the theoretical alpha strike is even higher. In fact Langley is practically made to grief DDs and cruisers as she has extremely limited options against BBs.

    Quite frankly the opposing CV players were horrendous. Those big damage numbers you see? All from avoidable flak bursts. Then again I guess this is what we will be able to expect from the average skill level.

    And yet when you meet an actually skilled CV player while having a potato CV player on your team you'll lose by default. Aka your reason for whining about CVs won't change.

    You are doing the CV a favor by drastically reducing his cycle times when you go near him. CVs can see whether or not their hull is detected. It takes approx. a minute and a half in close proximity to eliminate any DD. So unless you can kill the CV in under that time (which is extremely unlikely unless you catch him with a full torp spread) trying to snipe a CV is a death sentence. Remember, a CV can instantly abandon his current squadron and launch a fresh one off of his CV. That means reworked CVs are far better at self defense than current CVs will ever be.

    To all those who believe their topkek full AA build AA ship is going to swat flies like in the current iteration, allow me to demonstrate how vulnerable a (presumably) full AA DM can be. Against a Lexington. Island camping does not work anymore. In fact islands can and will be used as cover against you. Have fun gunboating out in the open and braving BB fire if you want to even have a chance at surviving air strikes. This is also a perfect demonstration as to why players are actually easier targets than bots. Bots move around constantly, players like to play static as per current meta. If you are alone any priority target can be swiftly eliminated by a CV regardless of tier given sufficient skill. This now includes full AA ships unlike in the current version. Have fun bunching up with others for AA cover just like everyone else, too.

    I like USN torps better tbh as it is far easier to set up crossdrops inside the min range of long and mid range AA provided you have enough boost saved up, giving your target no options for counterplay.
