Cruisers beware. Enterprise can kill almost any cruiser in only two AP DB attacks. This includes those with little deck armor such as Minotaur. I guess they buffed the fuse sensitivity. High altitude drops don't seem to overpen.

Midway has returned to the completely circular drop pattern for HVARs she had in test 1. Attempting to dodge is futile if the enemy CV can aim. (Source: https://www.facebook.com/notes/world-of-warships-development-blog/odd-tiered-aircraft-carriers/2231809417145393/) Air radar confirmed I guess?

Quick test of Enterprise AP bombs against T10 BBs revealed that only GK is vulnerable to citadels. Which suits E just fine since it is the biggest target. Cruisers get ed as usual. -

Which isn't as much a problem in the Enterprise thanks to the faster recovery times and higher maneuverability. You tend to get in at least one, if not two drops. After that just recall your squad. This is where the alpha of the AP bombs really shines because you can already do horrendous damage in a few attacks.
-
Enterprise is overpowered. The planes are hypermaneuverable so you dodge flak like nothing. The AP bombs got a ridiculous aiming speed buff and do monstrous damage against almost everything. Rocket spread is even more accurate than PTS Midway (I hit a Grozo for 7k in one attack in my last game). You're never really liable to run out of planes either due to the fast recovery speed.
-
Midway has been pretty harshly nerfed with less rockets, a longer torp attack distance (cross drops still possible but more difficult), an even more sensitive aiming reticle (which btw is wholly unsuited for the UI that likes to make micro turns everywhere), larger rocket spread and so forth and so on. Still was able to harass a Hinden and a Salem to death without any issues tho.

Is it just me or has port UI gotten even more laggy?

Welp, could not resist. On a different note, KC ranking rewards included this thing: I guess the CV that is getting a K2 is Aquila. -
I found that DBs in general aren't really worth the effort ever since their heal has been removed. AP DBs need one specific angle of attack, meaning you need to fly through every flak bubble to get to that beyond your initial run while also predicting how your target is turning. And ofc you could just deal the same or more damage with TBs. I think the only CV that surpasses her own TB striking potential with AP DBs is Enterprise and she has her AP DBs hampered by RNG via a huge drop pattern. USN HE DBs at least can attack from pretty much every direction but with HVARs at your disposal there is really no need to use them.

To be entirely fair it is extremely likely that you won't see my level of reworked CV play in the majority of matches you play. In fact in all test iterations I have seen players fail in ways I did not believe possible. Such as missing horrendously with rockets. MISSING. WITH. ROCKETS. How do you even?! (Also I know I sound like a narcissistic , but I wasn't sure how to phrase it otherwise. )
-
Uhm, Enterprise is not for sale at least until 0.8.2 I believe. Are you using the tech tree mod by any chance?

I've done that with @Xevious_Red already, time to kill was about 4 minutes as far as I remember. However a training room 1 vs 1 doesn't exactly simulate a combat environment as you can practically disregard everything and focus on dodging. I'm also pretty sure you would last longer against an RTS CV if you are sailing a full AA spec DFAA DD in a direct 1 vs 1 training room battle. Whether you do actually get killed by one squad or need a follow up strike also depends heavily on RNG. I can provide an example tho: And while yes, these are bots, it does actually simulate a typical random scenario where a DD will usually rush the nearest cap. (That and I found most players on the PTS to be easier targets than bots tbh.) Cross dropping can also cripple or kill a lower HP cruiser such as Zao as demonstrated here: Let me guess, one of these DDs failed their dodge and got killed by one torp squad? Because yes, that happens about as often as someone not knowing what DFAA does. Aka a lot. Not exactly the fault of a CV tho.

Bwahahahaha, yeah, as if. It's not like I can just dodge that AA while killing you or anything. The continuous DPS of long range AA is also far too low to prevent me from spotting and killing you. And if I feel like the ship providing AA cover for you is annoying me, I'll just kill him first while constantly spotting you. Ofc, but who says I need to? I can kill DDs much faster than my team after all. Again, I'm trading a bit of deniable spotting potential that my team may or may not act upon for massive guaranteed damage potential, making me more independent and thus more powerful than before. To characterize this trade as an outright nerf is hilarious at best.
-
Cap and disengage. In 30 seconds or less. Really? Also you'll be pretty much dead after the initial squad has finished up assuming no one else shot at you in that time. That means even if you go and seek AA cover, the CV will still get you because AA won't deter him from making his last attack on you. Because previously spotting could be denied by smart positioning of AA cover. That is no longer the case. And because aircraft now cycle and fly much faster it is impossible to take caps without having at least 3 ships in it. Any attempt to do it with less will just get indefinitely denied by a CV. Again, a current CV can attack you once and then only spot you. A reworked CV will spot AND attack you constantly. You also die faster, meaning I can move on to spotting and attacking something else much earlier than when I have to rely on someone else to kill you. That is not a nerf, that is a trade. You are trading global spotting for localized spotting + attacking. It is a trade I will gladly make in any CV as it means I become more independent from my team, thus more powerful.
-
I'll be back within 30 seconds and killing you while spotting you permanently until you are dead. A DB that is sacrificed to spot you in the RTS iteration can't do anything beyond spotting. It can also be chased away by fighters or AA ships which really isn't the case anymore in the rework. And if my teammate CV is doing that on the other flank too you get much more oppressive spotting than you have currently. Again, spotting only goes down if there is only one CV per team. Even then it is traded off rather than an outright nerf.
-
Spotting was traded off, not nerfed. Global deniable spotting was replaced by permanent localized spotting. If a CV chooses to focus you, you and everyone around you will be permanently spotted until you die as reworked CVs can cycle strikes within 30 seconds and loiter around until they expend all ordinance. And with 2 CVs per team that actually means spotting increases dramatically. It is only with 1 CV per team that spotting actually goes down. The CV vs CV aspect has been entirely replaced with dodging AA. If a potato reworked CV cannot dodge AA, he is even more useless than a potato with current CVs as even DD AA will rip him apart. If he can however dodge AA, he can pretty much safely strike and kill any ship on the map. Oneshotting is still possible. Just use one squad of TBs against a BB, cross drop him and watch your damage counter rise by 100k. Then follow up with fires and kill him. This is a process much faster than current CVs as current CVs cycle strikes much slower. Do not be fooled, reworked CVs deal more damage than current CVs will ever be capable of. And thus we come to the general potential match influence. Overall with the hilarious buff in striking potential it has been dramatically increased for skilled CVs while generally nerfed for potato CVs. 1 vs 4 all the way to 1 vs 8 situations are more than winnable for a skilled reworked CV player, while a potato reworked CV already fails 1 vs 1. So you see, all problems have remained the same, they've just been shifted around a bit or made even worse. Except with reworked CVs I can kill a DD every one and a half minutes. And that's assuming my CV teammate doesn't kill the others first. With current CVs I gotta wait 3-4 before I can kill the next one.

Seriously, you think with reworked CVs it's gonna be any different?

The echoes of dev strikes will sound in EU -
Funny considering current CVs cannot do that but reworked CVs can. If a reworked CV chooses to attack you you will be permanently spotted the entire time. I fail to see the difference here. Your torps will never play a part since rocket attacks easily break or outright kill your launchers. This means that at the beginning of a match you will only have a chance to use your torps if you do not happen to be the focus of a CV and can get your initial reload in. Or if you have a torp reload faster than 30 seconds, which no high tier DD has. Have fun~
