Ah, you're one of those "WR is purely luck" guys, aren't you? Good.
-
Which would imply that I actually played against better players, likely specialized in AA because they know they are ed otherwise, rather than the usual potatoes. Yet I still managed to win every match. Shot yourself in the foot much?

I'm not feeling the nerf tbh.

Accuracy modifier is a percentage that is multiplied with AA DPS to get true DPS. E.g. 100 DPS with 70% accuracy will deal 70 DPS to aircraft. It has nothing to do with hit chance or anything of the sort. Honestly I have no idea why they chose to do stuff like this but it could be used to resolve the tiering issue.
-
Being a bottom tier CV basically means you're a glorified spotter now while being occasionally able to steal secure a kill here and there either against low HP targets or targets hiding behind islands. You're extremely effective at it, tho. Personally it was a surprisingly satisfying experience (just like it used to be with RTS CVs), but then again I had a pretty good team. I imagine it is loads more frustrating when your team is full of potatoes. I'll probably stay away from T8 CVs for now and wait until further adjustments are made.

Suggesting to modify the accuracy modifier of AA guns according to plane tier to address tiering issues with CVs. For example: T10 CV vs T8 surface ship: +20% accuracy for the surface ship T8 CV vs T10 surface ship: -20% accuracy for the surface ship (The values are arbitrarily chosen, the idea is what counts.) Maybe AA should get a very slight accuracy debuff against smaller squads too to make it a bit more easy and rewarding to push all attacks through which currently is almost impossible even against mediocre AA. Something along the lines of -2% accuracy per full wing lost.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
El2aZeR replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Sometimes KISS is best. Keep It Simple, Stupid. I'm gonna put in a suggestion in the feedback thread. Shouldn't be too hard to implement considering such a modifier already exists in the form of accuracy (which, for those who do not know, isn't actually some kind of RNG but is just multiplied with DPS to get the true DPS value). -
70 air kills in a Repu...without AA build
El2aZeR replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
Wasn't there a screenshot somewhere that showed a Hatsu with ~60 plane kills even pre 0.8.0.1? Potatoes will potate. -
Works pretty well, yeah. They didn't record any new voice lines for the regular nations either and just edited the old ones. Same thing with the AL captains.

Nah, I generally dislike IJN CVs even during the torp spam time. Enemy Haku seemed pretty effective tho until I took him out halfway through the game (because he got snuck up on by a Khaba and was already low HP. Yes, he got snuck up on by a Khaba, don't ask me how).

"Concealment Expert" (CE) captain skill in post v0.8.x world for BBs - YES or NO?
El2aZeR replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I actually spec'd out of CE on my Monty to get MAA instead. Seems to work just fine tbh. I've had no trouble whatsoever and the extra AA was very much appreciated. Then again do keep in mind that I am usually in a div with a CV when taking out any surface ship nowadays. Otherwise I'd be playing a CV myself. -
Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)
El2aZeR replied to Kancolle_Kongou's topic in Off-Topic
Congrats, you've just rolled THE most powerful solo CV in the game. Rare ships generally roll more often compared to other gacha games (which is intentional by the dev) but that doesn't make them particularly common. -
I like the USN ones better tbh. IJN CVs are overspecialized in killing capital ships. They're really good at it to be sure, but that won't necessarily win you games. And really, when it comes to hurting cruisers and BBs USN are no slouches either. Haven't played the Saipan yet but she seems to rack up pretty good stats. Enterprise is a monster currently. Not easy to play but extremely effective if you can unleash her full potential.

Also getting up-tiered is tons more painful than it was previously as expected. I'm just saying that this is very reminiscient of what happened previously with RTS CVs. We basically had an entire year in which almost every patch included some kind of nerf for CVs which utterly destroyed "casual" CV play. WG will have to be very careful if they do not want to make the same mistakes once again. Should've probably worded it a bit differently tho.

Targeted nerf of single premium ship is important precedent and warning finger
El2aZeR replied to RAYvenMP's topic in General Discussion
Stats are irrelevant when it comes to Tirpitz. The ship is simply too old, being one of the first premium ships along with being the first German BB ever released. Because of that plenty of are in possession of one. There's a reason why she earned the nickname "Derpitz". Here, allow me to show you what the server looked like when Tirpitz was new: As such TIrpitz' stats will always remain lackluster compared with her contemporaries, thus cannot be used as a measurement for balancing. -
Bailout time is humongous now. Usually that means a squadron is liable to take pretty big losses when bailing inside even mediocre AA. Your best bet is probably manually boosting out of flak range or at least into less DPS before abandoning a squad. Generally speaking I like this change as it does rein in the F spam pretty effectively. The "problem" now is that WG went absolutely bonkers on some of the DPS values as well which basically means even if you can get all attacks through safely you can pretty much kiss almost your entire squad goodbye because the attacking wing gets shot down at the end of an attack. I'm not saying that this is by any means bad, AA ships should be AA ships after all and CVs must have counterplay, but that also makes flak pretty pointless imo. I mean, why have the additional difficulty of dodging flak when DPS is sufficient to kill an entire squad anyway? That's basically my only issue with this though. Even with these changes a CV easily remains the most powerful ship in a match provided sufficient skill. It's just that you have to play more akin to a pre-rework CV and pick your targets more carefully now. I just played this: Losses are noticeably heavier than previously, in fact they're about as high as I would expect me to suffer in an RTS CV against such opposition and the way I picked my targets. I often had only one type of plane with a full squadron at any given time available to me. This from an objective standpoint is good. Very good even. And here we come to the crux of the problem. This change is objectively speaking great except for one fatal flaw already mentioned above. Can you guess which one that is? It's skill. Potato CVs will fail even harder than they already do while skilled CVs will once again adapt and continue to dominate. Mediocre CV players meanwhile will fall in either of these categories and either l2p and dominate, fail over and over again or quit the class. This is EXACTLY what happened to the previous CV iteration and we all know how that ended up.

Bailout time with F has practically doubled with the hotfix. DPS has also become much more powerful to the point where you will lose squads in seconds even if you dodge against most capital ships. That makes target selection even more crucial than it was in the RTS iteration especially when up-tiered, so be extremely cautious.

What, you think we don't remember? Well you thought wrong!
-
Or you can just switch to a CV instead and go cap contesting like you used to with DDs. (On a more serious note, I think this video sums up pretty well why fighters are useless currently.)
-
Losing planes shouldn't affect aim. Often when you lose planes on your attacking wing the reticle position will jump around like crazy.
-
You severely underestimate how ing retarded most surface ship players are and their ability to throw what are otherwise safe wins. Quite frankly I have lost all sympathy for these people.
-
Flak can still go through islands. In fact flak that goes through islands is entirely invisible and therefore cannot be dodged. Unsure of what exactly the conditions for this happening are tho. EDIT: I think I've figured out how exactly this works: 1. Description Flak walls when spawned shortly before entering island cover will become invisible due to the island blocking the visual shots, but the actual area will still be dangerous to aircraft. 2. Reproduction steps 1. Pick a CV and a surface ship. 2. Make the surface ship spawn a flak wall shortly before entering island cover. Island should block the shots. 3. Fly through the area where flak was supposed to be spawned in the time it is supposed to deal damage. 3. Result Massive damage will be dealt to aircraft due to invisible flak wall. 4. Expected result Either no damage dealt or the flak animation to go through the island and actually display a dangerous area for aircraft.

I would just like to remind everyone that they even buffed the GC quite heavily after it was released. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ -
Afaik RN CVs are planned for 0.8.2 which was projected to be ~2 months away.

Please FIX the Arizona and DeGrasse AA
El2aZeR replied to Grumpy_Shark's topic in General Discussion
Recently while playing with @Saiyko in his glorious torp spammer there was a Mino pressuring the opposite flank heavily. So I, in my Monty, just popped my spotter plane and dev struck him with citadels. At over 25km. Well, technically speaking it is AoE in a sense that it can hit multiple squads at the same time if they happen to fly into the same AA.
