I can only reiterate what I've said ever since the first test iteration. There is no way to make the CV rework fun without making it broken. The fundamental concept outright prevents that. So yeah, better find safe haven on the CN server like the rest of us!

Salem and DM are almost equally as powerful. The T9s can be if they spec for it. Zao becomes very nasty with it as well. Basic rule of thumb is unless the cruiser is 2 tiers down you don't wanna go near them if they are full AA DPS. And a ton of them are nowadays in my experience.

Thing is with this fix a lot of cruisers should be able to stealth AA now, not just Mino. I'll just go play on the CN server and let this stuff pass.

Yeah, if you want to lose your entire squad and wait 4 minutes for replacements until you get a full one again. Otherwise it's actually much shorter.

You obviously want a class limited for the sake of new players. Guess what else is supposedly driving new players away? Sealclubbers. Thus preventing you and anyone else from clubbing seals will help WoWs retain new players. Here is a better question: What are YOU doing in low tiers? Do you think new players want to keep playing when you go sealclubbing? Why not ban you from playing ships like Nikolai for the sake of new players since you seem oh so concerned for them?

Even if you set points autopilot will want to avoid islands. That means trying to maneuver gaps becomes an exercise in frustration if they're not wide enough. E.g. if you want to go through a smaller gap, auto pilot will put the rudder full over to avoid the right side because autopilot deems it too close, thus beaching you on the left side. Setting multiple waypoints only works if you've already held the right course to navigate through a gap. If you want to do it while turning it becomes impossible even if you know the ship itself can do it.

Autopilot works okay in open water. Sometimes it circles a waypoint endlessly, but for the most part it works. Autopilot goes full once you're close to islands however, especially if you try to navigate gaps.

Remember stealth radar Worcester? That was a fun thing to encounter in DDs, wasn't it? This is basically the same thing. I'm not saying AA cruisers shouldn't have strong AA, but counterplay options should be given to both sides.

You're joking right? Just spending a single second inside max AA range of a Mino/Worcester hits a plane down to yellow. With this you are expected to spend multiple seconds inside their AA thanks to render delay and the need to turn, which can easily lead to most of your squad being softened up. In essence that means you can forget about that squadron being an effective damage dealer entirely against anything but DDs. And that's with same tier planes. You can take potential losses as bottom tier depending on which plane RNG decides to hit.

CN client also still has the gun bloom "bug", too. And it has the normal launcher instead of WGC. AND, this is the real kicker, the port UI is much smoother for whatever reason. I have literally no idea why since I use the same settings as in the EU client. Maybe it's because I'm not top level yet and therefore flags and commanders are missing or it's because I only have 6 ships in port so it may not last. If it does though it'll be hilarious. Funny how a previous version of the game can be so much more superior to the current one. Only problem is that the premium store requires some CN only payment options, but that thankfully isn't an issue for me.

While I generally agree with the reasons for nerfing CVs (spotting, efficiency vs DDs), is it really too much to ask for SLIGHT changes instead of going for the sledgehammer every ing time? Seriously, who thought implementing stealth AA back was a good idea? It was fine in RTS because you had multiple squads and fixed reserves, but now you only have one and the ships that actually can stealth AA have utterly brutal long range DPS, meaning you can basically forget about that squad once you escape. This is especially true for bottom tier CVs. Nerfing Midway torps? Why? Because Midway is overperforming compared to Haku? Have you ever considered that this might be because you nerfed Haku to the ground? Also buffing the Enterprise. The most powerful T8 CV. Wow, she sure needed that. This patch shows how utterly disconnected you are from the game. I'm so glad I downloaded the CN client so I won't have to put up with this any longer for the foreseeable future.

Yup. I think Mino air detection is currently like 7,5km minimum? With the buff it'll be 6km. That's well inside AA range and thanks to render delay you'll be way closer than that even if you fly in at an angle. Man am I glad I downloaded the CN client.

To be fair when I see all my BBs hiding behind my CV I stop feeling sympathy for surface ship players real fast, too.

Scout first, worry about attacking stuff later. If you can get an AA cruiser killed with initial scouting that's infinitely more valuable to you than getting some initial damage in. Max AA range is 6.9km, as long as you keep out of that you're safe.

Boy, you certainly have chosen the wrong time to do that. Here's the harsh truth: As long as the enemy CV is reasonably skilled no amount of DD AA will save you against a same tier CV. I recently attacked a Kidd in my Enterprise who apparently ran full AA (as he was bragging about it in chat). He shot down 3 RFs before dying. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ If you can accept that, I'd say start with USN DDs. They're the most versatile of the bunch, get long duration smokes to hide from planes and on later tiers have DFAA so you can at least defend yourself from less skilled CVs.

This pretty much. CE can be useful on IJN CVs to achieve DD stealth on their TBs, but with the recent nerf IJN TBs have become rather meh anyway. I'd actually consider taking Last Gasp and Direction Center for Fighters with the last two points. TA seems like a waste of points considering the short drop distance and there really aren't any alternatives except maybe AR. I'd probably take RPF just for the lulz. Last point can then be invested in Last Gasp. If you don't want RPF, boosting AA with BFT then going for LG and DCF or CE with LG is probably your best bet.

This guy also made a vid on how to turn the UI English. If the download turns a blank page like it did for me you can dl the entire installer manually if you dig a bit deeper into the site. Also note that installation takes very long for whatever reason.

I exchanged RF health for DB health on the Midway but that's pretty much it. Played around a bit with HP instead of speed on the 6th upgrade slot but planes frankly didn't feel particularly tankier so going for max speed is probably still your best bet imo.
