  3. Can confirm that it can still happen to vanilla clients. In fact I had this just recently. Before that I haven't seen this happen for about a year either. Thankfully I realized what was happening fairly quick, restarted and managed to get back into the match at about the 18 min mark.

    It's possible if you have heal or island cover. Otherwise one strike is usually all you get.
  5. Just saw a Shima trying to gunboat. Unsurprisingly it wasn't very effective at it. In fact he could've probably earned more exp by just sailing around.

    Because the system would be abusable otherwise. Think about it, if you sell your Lex now and the exp gets transferred to the Ranger, you could essentially rebuy the Lexington for free while being given 239k free exp, of which you'd only need a fraction of to research the modules again. Ofc nothing stops you from doing this if you already have a ton of exp on the Ranger.

    Boy the stories I could tell you... Once dropped and eventually killed a Haru firing continuously in smoke with DBs. Immediately accused me of cheating because "I WUZ IN SMOKE. THERE IS NO WAY YOU COULD HAVE SEEN ME CHEATER!" ¬_¬

    Tier 6 - CV still trash, still hard

    Dunno if it works for IJN CVs but with Enterprise AP bombs you need to run down the attack clock pretty far or go for a side attack to score citadels on lightly armored targets. If you ever have a lightly armored cruiser in your AP DB sights, try that instead of dropping from high altitude. Do note that the reticle moves forward fairly far when running down the time, so start the attack a bit early.

    No worries, they never were to begin with even during testing. Really the only time they were somewhat enjoyable to play was during (I think) test 2 when they gave all planes ludicrous top speeds. For me at least. Back in 0.8.0 enjoyable CV play started with T8. Nowadays it starts with Midway and nothing else. Is great design xaxaxaxaxaxa

    Uh.... On a serious note, while playing Enterprise in T10 AA heavy matches isn't particularly fun, she's undoubtedly effective. Her RFs are the 2nd best DD killers after Midway DBs. Chunking DDs for most of their health or outright killing them with only a single squad isn't uncommon. The nerf didn't particularly affect them thanks to the ludicrous maneuverability of the F6Fs (which btw are still mislabled as F4Us), allowing you to reengage faster than any other RF in the game. Her AP DBs straight up on every cruiser in her MM spread, arguably giving her the best weapon against them if you can get a strike in which is fairly easily accomplished if said cruisers hug islands. They also make every single KM BB cry. I promise nothing earns more salt than getting consecutive 30k+ hits on a GK. Likewise though nothing makes you produce more salt than getting a perfect drop but reaping no rewards for it. Her TBs are nothing special but they're decent enough. And perhaps most important of all, Enterprise respawns planes faster than any other high tier CV. This means you can afford to take casualties and gamble much like a Kaga, but with imo a far more flexible armament kit. All in all I'd rate Enterprise as the 2nd best CV in the game right now behind Midway. Her potential however is severely hampered by a high skill floor much like her original RTS version. And again, she will face T10 matches most of the time and while she can and will get good results given sufficient skill, to say that it isn't enjoyable to play would be an understatement. And herein lies the crux of the matter. Reworked CVs in general are only enjoyable when they're strong, if not op. The moment they're not, regardless of whether that's because CVs have been overnerfed or not, is the moment you inevitably lose the majority of players no matter how effective they still are. Personally I've shelved my Enterprise for the time being. Literally the only CV I play nowadays is Midway.

    Haven't experienced this myself so I'm unsure whether what you claim is true or not, but this might be due to the combination of fighter and AA DPS. Say a fighter drops the health of a plane to red but AA kills it. Said fighter will still be active because it hasn't registered a kill. If you're unlucky a single fighter squad may damage an entire squadron while AA reaps the kills this way.
  14. Yorktown has been confirmed as the USN T8 CV in the upcoming alt line. Meanwhile Bogue has been completely removed from the tech tree. My guess is that she will return as a T4 premium.     DD are not weak at all !

    A single DB attack can, given sufficient prayers and sacrifices to RNGesus, almost oneshot any DD with SE and certainly oneshot most of them without SE. In practice removing roughly half the HP of an offending DD with a single DB attack is far from uncommon even with the Lexington (or should be if they haven't changed her DBs since PTS, which they afaik have not). Using TiTs in particular is the wrong way to approach the situation. If you want to use RFs against DDs, use FFARs. TiTs are for harassing BBs and cruisers, their performance against DDs is often sub-par as your example handily proves.

    For those that do not know, this is currently working as intended. Afaik right now CVs are limited to 3 per team at low tiers (though with preferential MM for 2 per team) and 2 in high tiers. This is supposed to change to 2 per team with preferential MM for 1 per team once the "CV hype" dies down. Which incidentally would be about now as CV numbers are rapidly declining.

    It is scrap it entirely and start anew as the new system is fundamentally flawed. It is incapable of being balanced and attract more players at the same time as recent statistics have proven, while it solves literally none of the problems RTS CVs suffered from. *Edit*

    Irrelevant if you're not a stupid graphics. Same as in the last iteration, except aborting an attack run to conserve plane reserves often wasn't even an option unless the target is stupid. 2 or 3 wasted squads meant that you were effectively out of reserves in the RTS iteration, thus permanently crippled. So nothing changed again except after a few mins you'll have a few planes in the rework whereas you'd be permanently deplaned in the previous iteration. A great way to lose all your planes to enemy fighters in an instant. Or fail to recognize mistakes in enemy positioning. Or fail to realize that you're out of position. Or other things you needed to pay attention to even while your planes were rearming. RTS CVs required constant map awareness if you didn't like failing completely. So yeah, anything else you want to tell me about how plane losses are "more punishing" in the rework?
