Again, there is no need for most T10 BBs to seek AA cover as you possess more effective AA than almost every single one of your potential escorts. Unless you're dumb you will deplane the enemy CV faster than he can kill you without much effort. Aka other ships actually have to seek AA cover from you, not the other way around. No, it is actually the right timing for now. If you launch them earlier the fighter exploit will be automatically triggered. Until that is fixed you may as well not launch planes at all rather than launching them early.

You honestly believe that? Quite frankly if I would play an RTS CV in the current blob meta I'd likely struggle pretty hard to maintain a 70%+ WR. RTS = global spotting that could be denied by the enemy CV, some DDs and quite a few cruisers. AA ambushing also still existed. Rework = Localized spotting that cannot be denied. Said CV will also attack you the entire time until you're dead, at which point he will move on to another target. Said process is a lot faster than RTS CVs could cycle their planes. I'm sorry, I fail to see how RTS spotting is worse than reworked CV spotting. I suspect the only reason why people "feel" more comfortable is due to the number of experts having dropped from about a hundred to a dozen or so. Aka average CV skill has fallen into the abyss just like in every other class. I'm sure neither the Kitakaze nor the Neptune displayed previously share your feelings. Also guess what, your spotting distance can be cheesed. Pretty easily too.

Do keep in mind that those are (for now) only for the CN version of WoWs Blitz tho. Who knows if we'll ever be able to get these. -
Oh, look guys. It's a new kill speed record! 1 minute 18 seconds into the match. With a Neptune covering. "Rework is fine" lol Honestly tiering is actually fairly easy to solve in the rework. I have to at least give them that. Just give a ~10% modifier to hit probability upwards or downwards per tier difference. Makes top tier AA not too oppressive, makes bottom tier AA not completely useless. Problem solved. (Yes, 10% is probably too high)

....I did? Seriously, I did? Does this site record training room matches or sth? Because quite frankly I don't remember touching Haku in randoms even once. And, pray tell, why should I do that?

The question is rather if it makes economic sense. Which it really doesn't. Player numbers have remained stable even through the CV rework, meaning that the people leaving because of CVs (one way or another) are statistically irrelevant. Meanwhile removing CVs could have you lose ~10% of your playerbase and thus potential revenue. Not to mention the money refunds you're likely gonna have to hand out. Personally if WG would just hand me the money I paid for both E and Saipan I'd happily leave tbh, but we all know that's never going to happen.

As a follow up on my previous suggestion, I would instead recommend making catapult fighters launch only one plane that deals little damage, but both slows down the aiming time and increases the size of minimal spread of a squad. Direction Center can still be taken for more damage output. Also please replace the 6 torp gimmick of the Midway with Lexington torps with Lexington handling characteristics.
-
Yeah, I can support that. I'll leave a comment in the suggestion thread. Not sure if they're still paying attention to what I write tho.

If anything ship based fighters need harsh nerfing. BBs with a stupid I-win-fighter actually become far more effective AA platforms than cruisers/DDs with DFAA, being neutered only by the exploit. Once the exploit is gone it'll become ed.
-
You're vastly underestimating the potential impact of a truly skilled reworked CV. It is actually higher than the RTS iteration. So same as before except you're gonna take more damage. Oh, and the CV returns in 30 seconds instead of 3 minutes. So even more damage than before.

Does current CV gameplay lack skill aspect?
El2aZeR replied to LemonadeWarriorITA's topic in General Discussion
Same tbh. In fact I won some games which I would've found impossible to carry in RTS CVs thanks to the way faster strike cycling time and near DoT damage immunity of reworked CVs. These are very few and far in between though, the rest is the same story as always. If your team is completely ed or decides to throw there is nothing you can do. Personally I wouldn't exactly say it is more difficult, but simply different. It comes more down to personal preference, really. Someone who is proficient in RTS games will inevitably find the rework more difficult than someone who is used to e.g. bullet hell shooters and the other way around. Since I'm proficient in both I find both iterations pretty easy to play. Objectively speaking the amount of knowledge required to play reworked CVs at a high level is practically the same as, if not perhaps higher than with RTS CVs (due to the plethora of hidden mechanics whereas RTS CVs only really had one, namely counter-strafing). -

Unless he boosts and holds his drop until the last millisecond. Then you're giving him the max target area. Doomed if you do, doomed if you don't.

Does current CV gameplay lack skill aspect?
El2aZeR replied to LemonadeWarriorITA's topic in General Discussion
Well, this is very much true. -
Yes. DD AA has practically been eliminated even for the Grozo. Literally the only time you'll be able to do something is if the enemy CV is low tier and even then you'll probably trade an unfavorable amount of HP assuming the CV is sufficiently skilled. No. If anything bad CV players fail even harder than they did before.

I actually kept this a secret for the most part to see how long it takes for people to notice. (And, well, because I can't bring myself to particularly care anymore.) But now that it has been shown on KotS I might as well inform everyone present here. Just watch this and laugh. Or cry. Depends on how you still feel about this game. This naturally works with Catapult Fighters as well. And yes, I've been using this exploit since forever.

Possible solution to balancing CVs for everybody
El2aZeR replied to Grandma's topic in General Discussion
Actually now that I think about it, I'm very much in favor of this idea. After all it becomes kinda pointless to style on the enemy by taking a cap when the enemy doesn't know that I'm doing it. By implementing this change I should be able to farm even more salt than before. -
No commissar. When available to all the people is not bourgeois filth but tool of true proletariat! Pls don't send me to gulag.
-
You (and literally every CV player out there that doesn't get wiped before dropping every time) have very likely used it because Better go report yourself for cheating.

You do realize that when the average player sees a CV, he immediately goes full and tries to chase it down? Do you know how often I exploit this? -
buff midways flooding chance and torp damage
El2aZeR replied to Mr_Snoww's topic in General Discussion
Just do away with the horrible Midway 6 torp gimmick and give her Lexington torps. -
Here's the funny thing tho: More often than not doing this is unavoidable. If the enemy CV uses a fighter on top of an ally or your target uses the Catapult Fighter and you attack normally, the exploit will usually be triggered without fail due to the peculiar timing it requires and the new fighter aggro time WG implemented. Previously fighters would aggro only AFTER your first attack, giving you no time to react. Now fighters will aggro shortly BEFORE your first attack, triggering the exploit. Aka you can basically accuse every CV player of cheating because they've played normally. I usually don't even make the effort of "actively" using this bug because it just triggers itself without any input on my part.

What do you think my goal is? After all incessant whining of the "main playerbase" has ruined my fun, it is only fitting that I ruin theirs with what they've brought upon themselves. Like I said, I no longer care.
