Started anew on the Chinese server, immediately bought the Enterprise. Those who still remember what playing high tier RTS CVs is like know that having a 12 point captain is practically mandatory, although in case of the Enterprise that rises to 13 at least due to having to take Dogfighting Expert. And ofc don't forget the upgrades, which for the Enterprise is once again more expensive due to needing the 6th upgrade slot. I can count the number of defeats I've suffered on one hand and I'm not anywhere close to fully kitting her out. Try again.

*laughs in Enterprise* Seriously tho, while Asashio may have a low skill floor she also has an incredibly low skill ceiling. Aside from making BBs cry, which is a trait shared by plenty of ships, there is extremely little that she's good at relatively speaking. And she's practically irrelevant when it comes to reaching 500k damage as she's nowhere close. Could it happen? Sure, but the chances are minuscule at best. Just like with pretty much all T8 ships. That you're about to get banned hopefully. -
I thought I made that very clear ages ago? Doesn't mean I would recommend stuff that plays in my favor tho. Better to try and die rather than throw by playing passive and, well, die anyway.

Someone who loves the dumpster fire is saying that it's better to stay alive and play passive. How am I not surprised? Reworked CVs even more than RTS CVs scale tremendously with match time. The more time passes, the more powerful a CV becomes. The best thing surface ships could do against CVs was always to secure the win as fast as possible so that CVs cannot utilize their overwhelming lategame influence. RTS CVs were however at least tempered in plane reserves, reworked CVs do not have that issue as the respawn mechanic takes reserve management out of your hands, guaranteeing you ready reserves unless you're extremely abysmal. This is in addition to already higher damage output than RTS CVs could ever hope for. As such the last thing you want to do against CVs is to play passive. That has always been the case. Surviving matters little when you will get inevitably murdered by the enemy CV lategame anyway. The rework has only taken this to the extreme. And ironically their appearance has had the opposite effect. Hardly unexpected, but hilarious when you know it only plays into their hands.

Life is good indeed. :D ....wait a second. Unicorn's doll.... actually moves on its own? IT'S ALIVE?! Also major patch for AL CN inbound. Basic summary: - introduces Air Control mechanic (similar to air combat mechanics in KC but map wide. They literally ripped the levels straight out of KC too, aka AI, AD, AP, AS and AS+), this is a major buff to CVs as it grants major buffs/debuffs according to air power and number of planes, however AA stats also play a part - World 9 hard mode introduced - World 13 introduced, warning from devs that it is the hardest world yet. - Halsey on Midway. -20% plane respawn time on Confed, which I'm almost guaranteed to get, is hilarious. - Yamamoto on Yamato. Don't think any other IJN ship benefits as much. - Dunkirk on Mino. - Anime captains on their respective ships if available. If not then distribution at whim (Hood is on my Conq e.g.). Generally speaking I bring captains along when advancing in tiers, pay 200k for half the retraining and the rest with free captain exp. On premiums it is a mix of dedicated captains and captains from other ships. Depends on whether said premium ship needs a specific build or not.

Used it on the Clemson. It was funny. If you have sufficient situational awareness RL is often not necessary. Doesn't mean it is any less stupid of a skill though. -
- Enterprise isn't highlighted On a more serious note, I don't believe overall stats of premium CVs are particularly indicative of anything considering their low playerbase. If you look at top players only Lex, Saipan, Kaga and GZ are fairly even, Shokaku lags behind a bit and literally no one but me is playing Enterprise so she's more or less irrelevant. Implacable is down the drain but considering her scarcity that too hardly means anything right now.

- despawning fighter exploit is getting fixed - RL for CVs is getting removed - immunity altitude for attacking wings is getting reduced by 10% - nonlinear AA DPS stacking will be implemented - speed of T4 planes is getting increased by 10%

A bit off topic, but MM does actually care if a player is new. It puts them into bot matches despite playing random. The only difference to coop is that there can be enemy human players as well. Don't remember whether that restriction gets lifted via account level or reaching a certain tier. I can however confirm though that once the restriction does get lifted all hands are off, if you're unlucky MM will throw you in with sealclubbers immediately. (Note that the restriction gets lifted immediately if you play a higher tier premium ship.) Source: My CN account. Yes, that happened to me. Was just too bad for them since I'm not a seal.

The game will be frustrating regardless, at least with the MMM I can either attempt to rectify the situation much earlier or play with the knowledge that losing was the only possible outcome, ironically making the loss slightly less frustrating. It's a win-win in my book.

Which quite frankly doesn't matter. Planes shot down on an attack approach will simply get replaced by planes in the squad, as such at least one attack will always get through when a full squad is attacking no matter the ship, skill or consumables (unless you sail with like 3 full AA Minos or something similarly ridiculous). This makes Catapult Fighters much superior because they GUARANTEE kills while DFAA may not. -
Despite @Saiyko advising me against it I installed the MM monitor. Thanks to that I can guess what will happen in a given situation with a good degree of accuracy, so I can attempt to counteract dumb bull before it happens. Or at least mentally prepare myself for the inevitable loss. On the downside I now have chronic depression from seeing how many people struggle to even get a above 45% WR.

No it is not. No ship has usable long range AA anymore, even with DFAA boosting it long range AA is worthless for fleet defense. Not even Minotaur can do anything against a squad striking a teammate with long range AA only. If you want to defend someone he has to be in your mid range AA at least for any effect. Which is about the same range on most ships as the fighter patrol area.
