    There are explosions all around your aircraft when playing CVs. You just practically never see them because they tend to spawn around you, not directly in front of you where you can see them. And it makes sense because if they did spawn directly in front of you they'd possibly distract you from the wall that can actually deal damage. At least that's what I think. I have to admit I haven't particularly payed too much attention to that.

    "Nope™." - WG Alright, their answer was a little more detailed but they made it clear that this won't happen. 2vs2 CVs is the new cap limit. There is an attack cd already. After 25 seconds your squad is gonna die in even mediocre AA. And I could cheese this by shortening my squad.

    Well 71% is actually on the lower end of the spectrum nowadays. And it could just be a perspective issue as @Aotearas has said. if he went for the Pensa then flak timer has been reset as he went out of your range for a bit. Don't think that's particularly relevant. A replay would be helpful, but I wouldn't completely trust replays with CVs as many aspects concerning them are still bugged.

    ....bugger me for not paying attention. T_T Usually flak walls do not begin to spawn until the plane has spent a few seconds inside AA. I believe in that screenshot that your own wall hasn't spawned yet but ofc I could be wrong as this behavior tends to be somewhat inconsistent. Maybe post the hit probability? If it's low then the chance of spawning a lot of flak bursts is lower as well afaik.
  6. You're joking. Old Midway TBs dealt about 9,6k damage per torp. Because of damage saturation and TDS that damage will be roughly cut in half, so on a somewhat unrealistic full 12 hits you'd deal about 57,6k damage. Next we can add like 20k damage from the DBs which are heavily dependent on RNG, giving us ~77,6k damage dealt. Now the CV has to reload for 3-4 mins. Meanwhile reworked Midway can hit you with a full DB squad for no losses for over half your health, then come back ~30 seconds later to hit you again for half your health AND fires which will inevitably kill you even with proper DCP and heal management. Reworked CVs have far higher damage potential than RTS CVs ever did.

    Well, that flak wall in the top screenshot isn't actually yours. That's the NO's. It's tinted red because of DFAA, which you obviously don't have. Would you be so kind as to provide the AA ranges of the Kii? Because according to the official wiki you're not even in range yet, but ofc the wiki tends to be fairly outdated and it is currently my only source of info since the wowsft is down atm.
  8. Germans mostly spawn a ton of flak which I suppose is great against those that have yet to discover the ancient art of WASD, but the DPS is nothing to write home about. Sure, but mandatory ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
  9. While this wasn't an issue in the RTS iteration, it certainly is in the rework. Regardless of ship long range AA nowadays is incapable of properly supporting you unless massed to ridiculous levels. Likewise your AA support has to be out in the open as otherwise their AA gets blocked by island cover. In most scenarios this is simply unfeasible for your supporting ship, while ships that can actually play static out in the open their AA is usually insufficient to make much of a difference. Even then because of your need to be in mid range AA at least this usually means they're committed to that position and can't retreat if things get dicey. You could ofc smoke them up but that makes them vulnerable to a host of other things, not to mention CVs may elect to force them out via saturating it with torps.
  10. Which is why CVs dominated everything in competitive modes, amirite? Oh wait. I'm not saying RTS CVs were without flaws (*cough* "AP bombs are fine" - WG shortly after implementation of AP bombs *cough*) but they in fact offered far more counterplay options in terms of both damage and spotting denial. E.g. stealth AA, island cover, smoke, DFAA and fighter cover are all things that are either diminished in efficiency (some to the point of being almost worthless) or have been removed outright. Just yesterday outright deleted an Atlanta with torps and rockets in my Enterprise. He did everything right on his end, from using island cover to using DFAA correctly. He even had a Kutuzov right next to him too. He still died without having any real impact on my reserves. Completely unthinkable in the RTS iteration and, quite frankly, utter bull.
  11. Show the replay and we'll see whether that is true. The game auto records replays since quite some time now. Check the replay folder in your install directory. DDs are the most squishy targets, the map is small and you had practically no AA opposition. Expecting you to kill all of them in such a scenario is far from unrealistic unlike what you claim. Fighters spent protecting your teammates instead of scouting are almost always wasted. A couple of mostly worthless plane kills (if you even get those) is pretty much never worth giving up the scouting info nowadays. Spawn position of a CV is in most cases obvious from the very beginning of the match. It can be easily deduced from where you see planes come from. Two issues with that: 1. You just replaced a workable system with a flawed one that you need years to get to a level of acceptable balance which is an incredibly stupid decision to say the least. 2. Acceptable balance is not achievable due to the inherent design of the rework. Look for a file that reads something like "xxx-Kaga_46_Estuary.wowsreplay".
  12. I hope you realize that video is extremely outdated even when talking about RTS CVs. One torp hit killing a DD? Surface ship levels of activation time? Widespread on IJN torps? Click only fighters? That's stuff we haven't seen in ages. And yes, actually RTS CVs offered a lot more counterplay. Not perfect by any means as is e.g. evidenced by the glorious MM in that match which is an issue that persisted, but still more than reworked CVs.
  13. Because putting yourself in danger instead of just using your aircraft is dumb as . As has already been explained to you. Just like the solo stats filter. Just because it isn't always the case doesn't mean you can't dismiss it on that basis. That's like saying bullets can't kill because not all bullet wounds kill. Then just hunt them all down based on tier and danger factor. It's not that difficult. Udaloi > Cossack > Akatsuki, simple. Congrats! You wasted your fighters instead of doing something useful with them. And before you say it, yes, spotting a CV to get him killed would be an infinitely more useful thing to use your fighters on than trying to protect your teammates with them which in most cases they don't even do anyway. As is evident by the match result. Though you are ofc free to put up a replay if you're oh so sure you did nothing wrong.
  14. Clearly. Because we all know the best players always end up on top of the scoreboard, not the ones that farm the most damage. Group AA has recently been nerfed in addition to your enemy in general presenting practically no AA opposition. An enemy DD can in fact be struck in such a situation. I've done it plenty of times. Yeah, it's not like I do it every game or sth. Maybe watch the minimap a bit? Apply some knowledge about playing DDs? Scout? Use some basic common sense? As evident by your match result. Fighter cd is literally 10 seconds. Sure, whatever you say lol. Still means you let a DD roam for free though even afterwards. The problem is any DD that can roam for free is YOUR responsibility as a CV. That he was successful is YOUR fault. Doesn't change regardless of what you deemed as the correct course of action. Also extremely laughable that you apparently can't find a Cossack, a DD almost solely reliant on guns. Which puts things into perspective now, doesn't it? Perhaps you're just not as good as you think? I should've known using sarcasm was a bad idea. To make it abundantly clear: Top scoreboard placement means jack.
  15. Implying that farming exp makes you a good player Your grasp of the fundamentals are even worse than I thought. Implying it isn't self-evident to kill DDs first and foremost to win matches. So you have not only failed to search out and kill the DD, you didn't even bother to spot him. You just love to pile on failures on yourself, don't you? - he was already shot at as you've said yourself, wasting time to kill secure is, in fact, wasted time - using a squad to spot is wasted time, a fighter does the same thing more efficiently - a CV that is dumb enough to get rushed down and sniped is no threat at all because guess what, he must be an absolute to leave himself in that situation So yeah, according to yourself you've misplayed heavily but try to dress it up nicely instead of looking at mistakes in your play. Clearly you could've done nothing wrong if you're top of the scoreboard just like all those backline sniping BBs that inevitably get a high scoreboard placement. What a joke.
  16. Bwahahahahaha Tell me, did you lose that match or not? So clearly your course of action was not the right one to take. And yes, I would wait out the pathetic 40s smoke of a Cossack then kill him rather than chasing a dumb CV that lets himself get killed because the latter won't have any impact on the match anyway. It's not even that hard to find him on a small map such as Estuary so there is no excuse. At best I would drop a fighter to spot, not waste more time or even a strike.
  17. Ofc you don't. You have nothing to answer with as always anyway. As for your supposed situation, a good CV doesn't let himself be sniped. A CV that does let himself be sniped isn't worth sniping. Time spent spotting and striking him is time wasted. How is it not your failure that you haven't shut down the enemy DD? If an enemy DD has free reign that's your fault, not good play on his part. Especially if said DD is a Cossack which has such a short smoke you can just circle above it and wait it out to kill him. You're trying to brand your own failure as an example of "skill" on behalf of the enemy. Utterly laughable. And especially funny when we consider that you had ONE enemy ship with AA capable of giving you any trouble and you chose to waste 21 planes on it.
  18. It's also easy to kill even the smartest of DDs unless they're hugging their AA cruisers. At which point they're completely useless anyway so that's your job as a CV done regardless. So you decided to CV snipe and lost the match. So unexpected. Much surprise. Wow. Why? Most AA cruisers need to hug islands or hide in smoke. All of them die easier to you than BBs. Unless they mass up, at which point they're worthless to their team, you have nothing to fear. DMs, Woosters and Minos have become some of my favorite targets in Midway because they die so incredibly fast. Most CVs can't even hit BBs with rockets. You may as well say it doesn't matter whether you show broadside or not because most BBs are s anyway.

    They only fixed tapping like a maniac. Tapping rythmically to prevent yourself from falling below a certain speed still works because acceleration of aircraft is faster than deceleration near max speed.

    Actually Audacious TBs and DBs have extremely good acceleration, good boost regen and high boost duration. That means if you periodically tap boost to keep yourself from falling below ~195kn you have practically unlimited boost at your disposal. This makes them faster over a longer period of time than Midway TBs and DBs. ....I just gave away another exploit, didn't I? it, I should stop doing that.
