    So you're referring to a state last seen in beta, nowhere near how RTS CVs played towards the end of their life cycle. Please tell me how this is relevant to the current situation.

    There may come a day when you realize you can literally misdirect flak. But it is not this day. Flak is worthless no matter how many clouds spawn or how much damage they deal.

    I get the First Blood achievement almost every match. Far earlier than I could ever hope for in a RTS CV in fact. I think my quickest kill so far is like 1 min 15 secs into the match. At that point I'd still be launching planes in an RTS CV. And is 64% WR in RTS CVs supposed to impress anyone? It literally means you knew what the alt key did. As soon as you got basic levels of competence in them your stats would skyrocket to unicum levels because almost everyone else was . Not that that changed ofc. If you cannot reach or surpass the same numbers it simply means you're not nearly as good in reworked CVs as you think you are.

    I wouldn't. In 95% of all cases my teammate won't understand what I'm doing anyway and play the situation like a regardless. Thus the best thing to do is to get a kill as early as possible. The worst possible outcome is that you trade a kill and reset the field. If you scout on the other hand the worst possible scenario is that the enemy CV gets a kill while you don't, putting you behind. Unless you're scouting for a div mate your approach is in direct violation of some of the most sacred rules in WoWs. 1. Never trust your teammates to do anything, especially not something intelligent. 2. Assume you have to do everything yourself.

    Not really. Because you actually want a DD to feel safe and approach the cap on its own or otherwise isolate itself. The earlier you arrive, the more likely it is that the DD has AA support. This is why introducing a launch delay at the start of a match will probably increase the amount of DDs killed in the opening minutes. And, well, HE DBs have a much better chance to kill a DD outright with a single squad. Enterprise is the sole exception as her RFs are and always have been ludicrously broken. Which ofc meant to WG that they actually needed buffing. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Not really for Torp Mod 1. I don't think there are any circumstances in which that'd be useful as you always want to drop as close as possible nowadays. Attack Mod 1 however can be useful if you're still learning the timing for rocket attacks against low concealment targets. I also consider it mandatory for RN CVs due to the abysmal speed of their RFs.

    The grand majority of DDs I spot in my CVs have their AA enabled by default and never turn it off. And I play T8+ CVs only. Which is another common misconception, really. CV damage has only been neutered in low tiers, at high tiers it is equal or higher than it was in the RTS iteration. The alpha strike RTS CVs have been known for has been entirely replaced by sheer DPM. Whereas an RTS CV would need 3-4 minutes before they can make another attack again, a reworked CV attacks every 20-30 seconds on their initial run with every subsequent attack taking about 10-20 seconds. In a pure damage race both will either kill a target equally fast (barring the use of RTS AP bombs because these were broken as ) or reworked CVs will kill their targets even faster. There is no scenario in which a reworked CV will be slower in killing any given target. This is also why e.g. reworked Midway and Enterprise are horribly, horribly broken. They combine the best of both worlds, possessing high DPM and DoT potential in addition to high alpha strike.

    We both know the majority of the playerbase doesn't even know the P button exists. If you accept that you implement something that will practically never be used by the majority of players then that'd be fine I suppose. But by that standard you could also call plenty of broken mechanics previous and current, up to and including the current state of CV play fine.

    Well, there are a few ships that can wipe out squads after one attack although that also depends on the attacking CV and plane type in question. E.g. high tier TBs are usually guaranteed to get at least 2 drops thanks to heal.

    Funny thing about fighters is that they can also be shot down by AA. By that interaction alone you could gain valuable intel about whether an enemy ship is in the area or not. I guess we should remove that then as well? Issue with this on the other hand would be that it isolates CV play even further from surface interaction. And CV play is already isolated plenty from surface ships thanks to the rework. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. This is why the rework fundamentally cannot succeed.

    Depends how you define strong. If your expectation is to wipe an entire squad before they attack, you'd be right.

    Which ironically would be a huge boost to spotting potential because spotting is largely worthless without teammates to capitalize on it. E.g. teammate needs spotting over an island? Assign him a fighter to light up the area. Current CV spotting potential at least is largely limited to one flank due to fighters needing to be called down by the active squad. Remove that limitation and CVs actually become better at it.

    Indeed. Which is why I stated that they are NOW among the weakest AA ships, aka post-rework.

    Ironically no it wouldn't precisely because of the rework. Current CV play is centered around harassing one target to death. Spotting is achieved via fighter consumable if you really want it. As such a flight time limit achieves literally nothing because you're constantly cycling and attacking anyway. You're usually not flying around to scout unlike in the RTS iteration and even if you were, you can be on station again in 20-30 seconds. And before you say 20-30 seconds is better than nothing, you can simply drop a fighter for spotting to bridge that time.

    Ironically Atlanta and Flint are now among the weakest AA ships not because of their AA but because of their fragility. E.g. a single Enterprise rocket salvo can shave off almost half their health.
