Fara has been complaining about WG's implementation of RTS CVs for years yet it has clearly not helped. What makes people think it's going to be any different with Flamu? WG only takes suggestions into consideration if they line up with their own opinion. Anything that doesn't gets discarded no matter how much sense it makes.

When will radar stop working through solid rock?
El2aZeR replied to The_Stigs_wet_cousin's topic in General Discussion
No, it's working as intended because tying animation to actual damage zone and ship point of detection is too difficult for WG to achieve. Sometimes it's even invisible because of that. Once you realize how flak actually works you'll be amazed at how incredibly janky it is. I can only hope whoever thought this system works fine and is ready for release is in hot waters. -

The day when WG will admit the CV rework is a complete and utter failure. -
I've been top tier quite a lot in my Enterprise lately (with predictable results ). I'm guessing that has to do with the recent T10 CV MM change. If you spread out the T10 CV population while restricting them to one per team it should result in fewer T8 CVs being drawn into T10 matches as those slots are being filled up by T10 CVs instead. No idea about any other class tho since, you know, I no longer play them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Giving CVs any kind of serious opposition to each other directly flies face first into the rework wall. It cannot work. Afaik they even tested an iteration with active dogfighting but discarded it for rather obvious reasons. If you only have one squadron in the air then that squadron has to be able to deal damage. This outright prevents any kind of reliable shutdown play as active fighters would bring. And it'd probably be too difficult for the average potato to understand.

You honestly believe the majority of CV players is even halfway decent?

Play Enterprise instead. (No seriously, Enterprise is the 2nd most powerful CV in the game after Midway.)

Can you hear it? It's the sound of IMPROVEMENTS.

I mean... See that blob of ships? Except for the Implacable that's all ships in one spot + Iowa and Minotaur. Still hit Balansgrad for a balans 24k damage. And I did it again to kill him. And I killed the Jean Bart. And I ed over the Minotaur via spotting. AND I killed the Iowa. In a T8 CV. Much less awful. Such improvement. Wow.

Unless the other CV on the team is equally incompetent the enemy CV should've died pretty easily, throwing the match for the red team. Thus the screenshot above perfectly contradicts what OP is advocating.

Actually CV stats are more than comparable with their RTS counterparts in the latter half of their lifespan. Global spotting was traded off for way more oppressive local spotting and flexibility. Anyone who leaves AA cover still gets instagibbed. Those within AA cover now get instagibbed as well. Reworked CVs either take just as much time to kill any given target or do so even faster than RTS CVs. Alpha strike has been replaced by DPM, as such nothing has changed in this department. The RTS iteration was way more fair for surface ships because it at least presented viable counterplay options. I could remain completely untouchable in any AA ship and in many others with some basic investment. Now targeting AA ships is actually much preferable because you can kill them easily with minimal losses. How about you take off your blinds just because you believe reworked CVs to be more fun? And I don't want CVs to be removed. I just no longer give a about their state of balance. I'm more than happy to keep abusing this dumpster fire WG has forced upon us. But to present reworked CVs as any kind of improvement of the situation for surface ships is laughable at best.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 2 ENEMY CAPS VS NONE, ENTIRE TEAM CONSISTING OF 40% S, 3 SHIPS CHASING ENEMY CVS, FRIENDLY CV DIES EARLY. IT DIDN'T MATTER, GLORIOUS WAIFU KILLS THEM ALL! I AM CANCER AND I ING LOVE IT! -
I don't see why. The only thing that actually deals damage in Hood AA is flak. The DPS is pathetic as all out. I always attack Hoods if one presents itself to me. It's essentially a free kill.
-
It's a natural development due to higher RoF. CVs previously needed ~3 to 4 minutes before they were able to attack again. That means you could deny a cap once and that was that. Being able to attack at least every 30 seconds on the other hand means you can deny a cap indefinitely.

Currently? 1. Enterprise 2. Midway Yes, that's it. Pre-rework: 1. Enterprise 2. Helena 3. Clemson 4. Kongo (ARP Hiei technically speaking) 5. Worcester

Because it was one of the suggested improvements from skilled CV players during the RTS era. Sorry about that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wanna know something funny? Giving CVs fixed plane reserves again would be a gigantic buff for them.

Rework has the same effect as before rework...1 player spoils for all or is it about spoils! only
El2aZeR replied to Counter_Potato_Ops's topic in General Discussion
Long range is generally the weakest AA out of all in both DPS and flak output. To call it "heavy" is utterly laughable. Your own AA in a DD is also laughable at best. -

Which also will not ever happen. In fact I'm already spotted most of the time in my CVs and always make fun of people wasting their salvos on me. @Saiyko can confirm. -

No amount of concealment and AA nerfs is ever going to make a CV an attractive target to the opposing CV (or anyone else for that matter). The switch from alpha strike to DPM alone sees to that. -
Funnily enough they actually went away from that. AA used to be almost entirely focused on flak during testing and PTS, then they realized that skilled players wouldn't take any losses at all and did away with it. Now AA is focused on DPS, they could actually remove the flak mechanic with little consequences. In fact I'd even recommend it, flak does nothing but murder noobs nowadays when one of the biggest points of the rework was to make CV play more noob friendly but ironically achieved the opposite.
-
Which is utterly laughable considering the rework was a gigantic buff to CVs overall compared to the previous iteration.
