Depends on their placement which is little time wasted for the enemy CV. When optimally placed they will either cause losses before you can drop or waste even more of your time by forcing you to avoid them. Placing fighters directly on your CV does very little indeed. That's actually a cheese. Not sure if it is working as intended really.
-
That and the enemy CV can just spam fighters and diminish your reserves, severely hindering your ability to continue influencing the battle after their inevitable demise. So even after you kill the CV and play out the match, it is very likely that you'll end up behind in the damage race. Sniping a CV is really only worth it if said CV is just as close or closer than enemy surface ships. Which so far has happened to me exactly one time.

I actually lost my AP DBs for nothing thanks to the glorious bug that prevents planes from dropping ordinance. So I just murdered them with rockets and torps instead. Thus I'm actually pretty sure I could've done that with every other CV too.

Each bomb deals 11,2k alpha strike. Because Midway HE bombs can never hit citadels, they'll top out at ~3,7k penetration damage per bomb. If you then account for damage saturation along with assuming every bomb dealt damage and did not get denied by a module 13,6k damage is 4 hits out of a possible 6. As for how you got hit by 4 out of 6 bombs, ask this guy: Attempting to discuss a system that is fundamentally flawed is futile. Why even waste the effort? A class that, unlike their predecessors, has no counterplay options nor exploitable flaws doesn't belong in this game period. I laugh in the face of all the counterplay options suggested by people on forums or elsewhere. "Just smoke, play Mino/Worcester with full AA build, stick in a blob" etc. are all very cute because I know they do not work from a CV perspective. Nothing prevents you from getting killed by a CV. In fact the most laughable thing about the rework is that CVs now counter AA ships by not only killing them fairly easily but denying their inherent playstyle. Attempting to play from island cover is comically suicidal against someone who actually knows what they're doing. No one (or at least almost no one) really believes that a rollback will happen. We just understand that, as flawed as it was, the previous iteration was the superior system. Attempting to strike AA ships on the CN server will do nothing but get me deplaned and that is as it should be. It is one of the prices I'm supposed to pay for all the advantages I have as a CV. Here on the other hand I don't give a and will kill you with negligible plane losses. Please tell me, how is this supposed to be better than before and how do you even begin to balance something which is fundamentally built on the principle that a CV can always all over everything else? To put this into perspective, just recently I faced a double unicum Seattle div in my Enterprise. That would've been a daunting perspective in the RTS iteration, but in the rework I knew precisely that they've just ed themselves over by choosing AA cruisers funnily enough. So I proceeded to kill them both. While they stuck together and coordinated DFAA usage. All for a paltry amount of planes lost on my part which didn't matter anyway as I ended the match with full squads. And I can only ask again, how exactly is this rework more fair or even remotely worth discussing? As long as you cannot convince us of that, there is nothing to discuss.

None of the people in Saipan or Kaga who have a high WR have a substantial amount of battles played. Then again that would make me the only guy who has an actually representative score anywhere close to the top. Guess you'll just have to take my word on it. :)
-
Why would you play anything other than CVs, really? I mean aside from div mates taking out their CVs I've literally not played a single filthy surface ship since the rework.
-
Probably because Enterprise generally takes more skill to play effectively.
-
Do you even read?
-
Lets just say even going seal clubbing in a Clemson doesn't put me anywhere close to the numbers I can pull in Enterprise.
-
Might not be equal in that sense but it's a global change nonetheless. Global changes can affect premiums, but they cannot be targeted specifically. E.g. you can nerf GZ boost speed by doing exactly what they're currently planning. You can't however just specifically nerf GZ boost speed and leave everyone else as is.
-
Because when people who have extensive experience and being extremely successful in both iterations tell you that one is objectively worse than the other it gets labeled as whining. Perhaps you're actually the one who's blinded by personal preferences? Was the RTS iteration perfect? no, far from it. It was however far more fair to surface ship players than the dumpster fire that is the rework.

RU missile destroyers aside from Neustrashimy I suppose.

The Perfect CV rerework ? (Suggestion and idea for argumentation)

Sorry, but I stopped reading right there. Because like in all halfway modern RTS games you could zoom out to sufficient levels by using the mouse wheel.- 39 replies

If CV player is skilled (or an Enterprise): Go straight to great gulag in heaven.

Because they can't nerf her specifically. They've declared premium CV balancing finished as of 0.8.2. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So their only real option is to pull her from sale.

Just saw this. Thought I'd share Remember to bind your accounts guys! Also https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/prinz-eugen-2204d6fd12b546deb69a91621c08b6e1 Dayum. EDIT: Meanwhile in KC: https://www.reddit.com/r/kancolle/comments/bnlr4c/news_the_former_operation_of_the_spring_event_the/ 6 DAYS. ALL HANDS, PREPARE FOR BATTLE! -
Last 21 days, mostly solo: My guess is they're gonna pull her from sale. I don't believe they have any other choice really. A T8 CV that is more powerful than most T10 CVs is way too broken to remain as is.

And were lumped in with the ~30% who liked it. Yes.

Thoroughly agreed, but WG has already failed and will probably continue to fail in this regard. It's a reality we've already had to deal with in the RTS iteration and will likely continue to face. Because in their own eyes WG is infallible and if raw statistics do not support them they will simply bend them to fit their narrative. See "most testers favor the rework but would like some changes" (blatant lie, option was "I liked some and disliked some others" and even if you absolutely hate it, the visuals are pretty good. That's what I wrote down, so I suddenly count as liking the rework) and "skill gap is now fixed" (self-explanatory really).
-
Actually I thought they replaced Kitakami with Atago? I believe that'd be legally covered since you're "altering" a product instead of removing it. Just like the CV rework did. So basically just a return to the RTS status quo. I guess we're going to see another rework in ~2022? Serious recommendation tho: If you want to escape the CV rework madness join in on the CN server (assuming your ping doesn't prevent you from playing).
-
Except WG has also shown extreme reluctance when it comes to offering cash refunds. Especially critical when you consider they've just sold untold amounts of loot boxes and premium CVs. And why would they remove CVs when overall population is healthy AND CV popularity has risen to what they deem are acceptable levels? Sounds like a win-win from a business perspective, really. As long as players do not follow up on their threats, and threats have remained very much empty so far statistically speaking, nothing will change. Doesn't mean it will stay that way ofc but 4 months into the rework it is very much successful from a pure money making perspective. I'm actually fairly sure that'd run into legal problems, but I'm no expert so don't quote me on it.
-
Would love to know the source because that'd be really weird considering they explicitly stated that AP bomb ballistics is a "shiny new feature" when introducing reworked CVs. Could be another special GZ thing I suppose but E's AP bombs definitely take ballistics into account. In fact if you hold your dive until the last possible moment you can punch through belt armor of some cruisers.
-
Well yeah, but that just means they have a different angle of impact instead of none at all. At least I can confirm that diving down low on lightly armored targets like Nürnberg will result in citadels whereas attacking from high altitude will mostly result in overpens.
-
They did? That makes no sense tbh.
