You mean on CN or EU? Because just two games ago I tried to AP DB a Fuso and good old T6 Cleve outright denied me on CN. Seems pretty fair to me. On EU meanwhile... Yeah.

Thank god the CN server exists so people can't actually lie about the capabilities of RTS CVs, eh? The problem with IJN AP DBs is not with their damage (which is actually quite devastating) but more with their usability. @Saiyko can probably sing you songs about that. Which were extremely flimsy compared to now. I just attacked a Roon and lost over half my strike on approach. Without DFAA. He would've died outright had I attacked him in a reworked CV.

Oh, look. The enemy YY kept close (and by close I mean "within 10km") to the Mino the entire time so I couldn't do anything to him except when the match was already over. Couldn't do anything to surface ships in general because bots actually stick together, use DFAA correctly and counterplay CVs when they see them. Not a single opportunity to land citadels too because USN AP bombs ironically weren't nearly as powerful as they are now. Whoever says the rework has made the situation more fair for surface ships is outright ed. Clearly the rework that we all needed was a rework of the ed playerbase that gets utterly outclassed even by simple bots.

By you lying funnily enough. USN RTS DBs at T8+ dealt 10,8k alpha strike, meaning a penetration dealt 3,6k. A single squad had 7 planes in it with AS (and a service time of almost a minute alone btw), which means damage capability topped out at 25,2k. That's if all bombs hit and deal damage along with no losses. This in itself was a rarity due to the inaccurate nature of DBs, you were extremely lucky to get 20-30k with BOTH squads attacking the same target, usually damage was right around the 10-15k mark (again with both squads). So either you're making up or you conveniently "forgot" that you got attacked by 2 squads instead of just one.

No idea what is going on, but I literally can't get a kill on LD E3 boss. Tashkent especially seems to always deal pitiful scratch damage to her (I've never seen her crit, highest damage dealt so far is like 20), leaving her with like 20-30 HP left every time. Equipped everyone with anti installation gear too AND have started using support shelling. And I'm playing on easy. This RNG is getting ridiculous. EDIT: Nevermind, Ashigara just finished her off with a 300 damage crit. Finally. Praised be the wolf. -
And I'm still telling you that a single attack with a reworked high tier USN DB easily matches the attack of a RTS USN DB squad in alpha damage. Aka taking USN DBs as an example of "burst damage reduction" is a straight up lie. You die either way in the same time or even faster than you did in the RTS iteration with fewer counterplay options. I fail to see how this is supposed to be an improvement or be presented in a positive light as you did before.

Reworked CVs have a naturally higher rate of fire than RTS CVs. As such even if you needed 2-3 attack runs (which you do not) to match the alpha strike per RTS DB squadron you'd end up with a higher damage output than the latter. The maximum was 2 with USN DBs. Which means to match that you only need 2 attacks in reworked CVs. Given that you can at least fly 4, against some targets 6-8, in the same time span a RTS CV flies a single strike with both DBs that puts things into perspective now, doesn't it? See above. DPM has dramatically increased with reworked CVs. You do not get time to recover. And funnily enough 0.8.4 barely scratches Enterprise.

This is funny because reworked USN HE DBs actually have comparable/superior alpha strike and much more overall damage potential compared to RTS USN DBs. This is also funny because while the amount of USN CVs that carry AP bombs have been decreased to a single one, she has become the most devastatingly effective ship against cruisers in the game by quite a margin with practically no counterplay options whatsoever unlike previously. And these AP bombs have been buffed tremendously in capability too. How about you get your facts straight before spouting straight up lies?

It's called "economy" in this game. And even WG admits that it fails to do so but ofc won't change anything about it.

Statistics show that no, this game hasn't lost a noticeable amount of players due to the CV rework.

That was actually possible during testing, so someone over at WG actively made the decision to remove it. Take from that what you will.

It really depends. GZ (currently) will just zoom through, so even if your fighters aggro they usually won't even do damage as they can't catch up. This is the only instance I believe DFAA to be superior to the Catapult Fighter. Meanwhile USN planes have to drop as close to you as possible so you want to have more leeway with how late you can use your fighter. DBs especially will naturally spend a lot of time above you. Also depends on tier. Your fighter consumable stays the same, enemy plane speed does not. The "wait until planes enter mid range" is more of a general guiding point rather than a fixed guarantee. The slower enemy planes are, the later you can activate, the more of a guarantee you have that they'll do something useful.

Depends on both the type of plane and the CV attacking you. Generally speaking you can wait until enemy planes have entered your mid-range and are thus committed to the attack. Kinda like DFAA during the RTS iteration. Don't bother doing it against RFs unless you are literally about to die.

This map really does feel like the current WoWs meta. Anyway, E2 medium done. No way I was gonna do it on hard. That Reppu can't be worth all this salt. And the game casually reminded me I don't even have Yamato yet. Completely slipped my mind tbh. Not sure whether I'll return here to farm for her. Attempting LSC is probably going to result in a lot less salt production. -

- implying they didn't already Seriously, BBs equipped with fighters are already much more annoying targets than AA cruisers. DFAA can be cheesed and cruisers die a lot quicker to CV ordinance/spotting than BBs ever will. Not to mention most AA cruisers rely on cover to survive, making them easy targets. -

Until you realize you only have 6 AA guns in extremely exposed positions, meaning after an attack or two your AA is gonna be dead. Also looks like a gigantic target to facilitate rocket saturation to me. AND no close range AA. Yeah, regardless of what they say this is not an AA ship. -
