Except you are still allowed to use that ship without fully retraining your commander. Just like I'm still allowed to drive a car after getting a licence regardless of whether I get another one afterwards. This is more like buying two cars but complaining that you have to buy fuel for them both. Again, each time you retrain a captain it is an individual transaction. Just because you don't feel like it is doesn't make it any less true. Your feelings on the matter are completely irrelevant. Perhaps you're the one who should go for a check up? -

You're not paying for the same service twice. Each individual reset/retrain is a different "melon" so to speak. If you're too lazy to just have a dedicated captain for each ship you want to play there is no helping you I suppose. -

Nah, but honestly I don't need to play the patch to know that it'll basically kill off all CVs with smaller squad sizes, low plane reserves and/or plane regen. Affected ships are all RN CVs, Saipan and GZ at least. But this change represents something more interesting since it goes against the fundamental gameplay concept of reworked CVs. Namely that either 1. it is an admission by WG that the CV rework is in fact fundamentally flawed as they're targeting one of its core mechanics or 2. WG has no idea what the they're doing. Personally I'm betting on the latter. Wouldn't really be the first time.

Which means instead of giving each ship a dedicated commander you're swapping them around constantly. Aka it is a problem completely of your own making. Considering a ton of premium ships have been and continue to be given out for free I seriously doubt that. I have bought 5 I believe (Enterprise, Saipan, Warspite, Atlanta, Loyang), the rest I received for free. Or perhaps people just don't share your trait of grossly mismanaging their captains. Also I forgot to address this gem: So... you don't buy water from the store all the time? -

Oh, but I will. Because your incredible ignorance once again seeps through every word in your post. 1. Chung Mu is a Fletcher clone. It's even written in her description. 2. Torpedoing DDs is useful if you want to deny smoke or force your enemy to turn. 3. A DD cannot gun down another DD from smoke unless helped by allied spotting or spotting consumables. 4. PA DDs such as Chung Mu have some of the shortest duration smokes in the entire game.

On the contrary the CV would end up deplaned rather quickly assuming no misplays on the AA cruiser's part. And even mediocre AA could be turned into a no-fly-zone if specialized. Also reworked CVs have far higher DPM than RTS ones to the point where they can easily match or outright kill faster than their predecessors. Even with the recent speed nerf there aren't any scenarios in which a RTS CV kills something faster than a reworked one. The CV rework is fundamentally broken as evidenced by WG now trying fixes that go against its very core mechanics.

Heal doesn't recover HP fast enough to make that viable if more than 1 ship shoots at you I believe.

Because having to get within 3km instead of 2km of a ship in smoke is such a gigantic advantage. And having an extra half a second or so reaction time to torps will surely make a difference at such distances. /s if it wasn't obvious.

Meh, the whole concept of the AA change defeats the entire purpose of having multiple attacks per squad in the first place. Hence why I can't see it making it to live. It compromises one of the fundamental gameplay features of reworked CVs.

You can always limit losses via squad shortening, so it really shouldn't have too much impact on ships with large squad sizes if they play accordingly.

Honestly the last thing E cares about is rocket plane losses. You regen more of them than some CVs regen TOTAL planes. You can lose your reserve cap 3 times in a row and still have some to spare.

Will probably affect potatoes too hard, meaning the change won't make it to live. And funnily enough this is a relative buff to E once again as plane reserves become much more important while nerfing Saipan, Audacious and all other CVs with low reserves/long plane respawn times to the extreme. It's like WG only wants us to play one CV. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah, I actually misunderstood how the change works as I didn't have time to watch the video. Yeah, imo this is a pretty good change. However I doubt it'll make it because it affects potatoes too much.

No it won't. It'll exacerbate the issue. This is actually a pretty big buff.
