  1. Oh, would you look at that. Guess who it is. Hint: He is a big fan of me and @Excavatus. After he suicides into C for absolutely nothing he starts accusing @Saiyko of cheating. Because ofc he does. Doesn't stop there tho, immediately after the match he sends @Saiyko this: And me this: After politely telling him to off with his delusional bull, he returns with Over 20k matches and he has yet to realize that ships can shoot over islands. Truly the most ed player to ever exist in this game.

    What to shoot at CV's?

Depends on your own ship and the CV in question.
  3. I fail to see how you're providing AA in a position such as the one shown in the screenshot. Since you'll want to hide behind hard cover when doing something like this it'll inevitably block your AA. And honestly you should've evacuated earlier as there is a fundamental problem when the enemy comes too close. Your returning planes can get shot down, denying you plane reserves. There is a happy medium between being too reckless and too safe, represented perfectly by you and the Furious in this particular example. Sitting somewhere in between would've been ideal. The match could've easily resulted in a loss had the enemy CVs been even halfway competent. Killing both Amagi and Gneisenau should've been no issue at all. I've seen far too many matches thrown away because of a CV positioning too aggressively.

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

Which is thoroughly irrelevant in the face of reality. Two 30% potatoes will consistently fly into flak, as such whether you take AA skills or not is irrelevant as their planes are going to die regardless. A halfway decent CV player on the other hand won't. This is where SOME AA skills become relevant (aka all that raise DPS, flak becomes worthless), however if you're working with a sub-par base system that won't save you.

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

Here lies the crux of the issue He was already worthless to begin with regardless of whether you take AA skills or not. AA skills do not help because he is gonna lose all planes without effect regardless.

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

Which has nothing to do with what you posted. You tried to show that specializing into AA apparently matters when in reality you could've achieved the same number of plane kills in any ship that can spawn a half-decent flak wall. Because the enemy CVs were garbage, not because of specializing into AA.

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

Derived from playing against potatoes and thus irrelevant.
  8. One of these days you will realize that you're supposed to sail behind the frontline to maximize damage output, not in the middle of it. And if you can't kill a lone flanking DD or cruiser you deserve to die as it is down to your own incompetence.

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

I didn't, but @mariouus has already addressed that. When both enemy CVs do nothing but play catch-the-flak, this is simply what happens. And again, a majority of those plane kills could be fighters if the enemy CVs are dumb enough to summon them over your teammate. Again, plane losses tab would make for a more convincing argument, but not by much. Try flying in a straight line all the time in your next match and tell me how many planes you lose. Yes, AA is passive, dodging flak however is active.

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

I fail to see how 23 planes in a 2x CV per team match is anywhere close to significant, especially when your teammate apparently has been worthless. Planes shot down can also be derived from fighters. The plane losses tab would make for a more convincing argument, but then again your AA opposition wasn't exactly significant.

    Hacks destroying the game

Ever heard about this mythical WASD hax? I hear its usage is even tolerated and encouraged!

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

I disagree. RTS stats still list a ton of people who achieved success when they were way overpowered (at least far more so than they were at the end of their life cycle). When you check the top RTS Midway stats for example there are plenty who haven't played in years. Honestly I'm finding it more difficult to carry with RTS CVs on the CN server, however that may just be due to the far higher playing standard (aka most of the population consisting of bots) over there. Top player stats meanwhile show that CV carrying ability is largely undiminished despite what can be considered a far more hostile meta. We can get an indicator by looking at the worst of the worst. I believe the worst reworked CV players perform worse in terms of stats than RTS ones. However unless you want to analyze page upon page on a given stat site we'll never have precise numbers. Funnily enough you're actually wrong. I picked up the Haku recently. :P In terms of damage the issue is with the meta. The meta nowadays is far more hostile than it ever was for RTS CVs, as such CV numbers will be lowered accordingly. Yet they're still comparable to the RTS iteration. In a battle resembling the pre-rework meta, and I've actually had a few of those, reworked CVs will rack up damage faster than RTS ones. As for spotting, faster plane speed + higher flexibility due to always having planes immediately available does plenty to make up for not having multiple squads. Also fighters can still spot due to WGs infinite wisdom. My latest number on spotting for CVs is that it is only ~10% down across the board I believe. Rather interesting considering you "only" have one squad instead of 3-8.

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

Shouldn't that be listed in maplesyrup? Genuine question btw. I remember e.g. that maplesyrup listed about 20-30 guys who played the RTS Enterprise per week, out of those very few did frequently. I was one of those obviously as were others listed in the top ten. As such skilled players had much greater influence on her stats. Maybe try to follow the conversation instead of jumping in with a pathetic attempt to discredit me and maybe, just maybe, you'd realize we were talking about the RTS iteration.

How am I supposed to know what you're going to edit in? Can't read minds, you know? :) Tell me, what happens to ship stats when the average potatoes get their hands on it? How many people played Lex back then compared to now?
  15. El2aZeR

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

No, it isn't. Again, the length of the existence of strike decks is completely irrelevant. Otherwise the following statements can also be made: - reworked CVs are completely gamebreaking because they used to be in testing - the 20km Shima torps are op because they used to be too effective - the YY is still relevant because she used to be strong - the GK is overpowered because she used to defy the general BB concept And so forth and so on. What you're doing is deliberately ignoring balancing changes in an effort to make your point which is laughable at best.
  16. El2aZeR

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

Again, so what? Doesn't change the fact that it was removed, hence why it is irrelevant, doesn't it? That's like saying "T10 rocket planes are op because there used to be 12 of them per squad". The length of their existence doesn't matter, fact remains that the strike deck was removed and is as such no longer relevant in any balancing comparison.
  17. El2aZeR

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

Yes, so? That deck option was removed, I don't see how it is relevant in any way. Otherwise I could just measure reworked CVs by their testing iterations which were enormously more overpowered than even RTS CVs were in CBT. That'd be equally worthless.

    CV Rework Discussion

I meant if we take the current maximum reserve + regen cap as the new maximum cap. Because lets face it, if we were to take realistic plane caps barely anyone would actually bother to play CVs as it would be too difficult for the average braindead , failing perhaps the premier goal of the rework. As someone else has already stated, the rework concept in itself is the issue, it can't be resolved by tweaking stuff here and there. Farming damage with impunity is precisely what reworked CVs are built around, attack that concept and they become either worthless, unpopular and/or unfun to play. Honestly at this point it'd be preferable to scrap CVs altogether. 5 miserable months into the rework dumpster fire and I still don't see any other way out.

    CV Rework Discussion

Honestly no it wouldn't. Assuming we're gonna stick with the new maximum plane caps (and we probably would have to as otherwise CVs wouldn't be easy enough to play for your average braindead ) or even extend it to old ones that'd be an enormous buff. Skilled players could just spam whatever plane type is effective without any penalty. s ofc will still fail regardless. The new plane respawn system actually limits the influence of skilled players. It holds no benefits for them.

    Lexington- What upgrades to choose?

They still don't. And you were and still are flamed because it is an outright lie to state that they do, not because you're using TiTs. *edit* Also HVARs have 33mm penetration, not 27.

Is this how CVs are intended to be "balanced"?

Funny, last I checked Lex had the very meh 1/1/2 setup. So that's at most 14 bombs and 6 torps. Of which you would probably kill most torps on approach while most HE bombs would miss due to far higher dispersion. Also USN service time + slower flight time meant that he would return in 3-4 minutes, not 2. Thank god the CN server still exists so you can't bull us. When compared with seasonal stats (which are bound to be more accurate than overall stats), as @Culiacan_Mexico often posts, reworked CVs actually outdamage RTS ones. So no, in reality reworked CVs do deal more damage than RTS ones ever did.

Oi, don't you come here with your facts. Do you want these people to die of allergic shock or sth?

    Lexington- What upgrades to choose?

Enterprise rockets are the exception to the rule. Neither Lexington nor Midway HVARs are as forgiving to use. It is generally better to just use the TiTs. Although if you're comfy with them HVARs do can have devastating effects on the Lexington. Try them in coop or in the training room and see if they work for you. On Midway they've been nerfed to oblivion so they're not really worth using. TiTs never deal full damage because they cannot hit/penetrate citadels. *edit*
