    CV Rework Discussion

Proof that the playerbase is too ed to control two things at once. Because they can't handle anything. And I have plenty more where that came from all taken within the last few days.

Because they believe players are too ed to control two things at once. Which is a thoroughly truthful assessment tbh.

    CV Tier 4-6 AA spike

Wait until you see the spike in high tiers. E.g. when transitioning from Neptune to Minotaur your mid range AA becomes literally 4-5 times more powerful which is a totally ed progression model.
  5. Considering you can't take criticism of any kind, spread lies as if they were truths such as "flak doesn't need to hit to deal damage" and generally disregard any kind of scientifically proven fact thrown into your face somehow I seriously doubt that.

No CVs. I'm sad. Enterprise would provide a totally fun and balans experience for everyone.

    CV Rework Discussion

And again, how was the RTS iteration not objectively better for surface ships? All you have brought to the table is - The removal of alpha strike, which is counteracted and in some cases outright buffed by the way higher RoF and lack of counterplay. - Apparent removal of global scouting which is at best only partially true both in gameplay and in statistics. - Your own personal experiences in CVs which, quite frankly, aren't objective. Just because you find reworked CVs to be weaker than previously doesn't mean they are. You yourself said that you're not doing particularly well with them which would mean that perhaps your own experiences don't provide the best comparison between reworked and RTS CVs? - Your own personal experiences in surface ships. Which is a fair point but it only serves to illustrate part of the issue. Ironically the only reason why reworked CVs don't completely ruin all matches is because the playerbase is so garbage that most CVs you meet will inevitably be garbage as well. As such the issue has remained the same. Previously you may not have seen many CVs, now you just see many garbage CVs. CV players that completely ruin your match are encountered at about the same frequency as before. Does that make it okay tho? If it wasn't in the RTS iteration, it shouldn't be now either. - Your own personal enjoyment of reworked CVs which is about the most subjective thing you can say about them. Yes, the RTS iteration had issues. Severe issues. However the rework solved literally none of them and added its own problems on top.
  8. Lets see how that is working out for you. Oh, everything is red and yellow. What a surprise. /s

    CV Rework Discussion

Midway still provides rather decent alpha strike with both TiTs and HE DBs. And damage over time rivals, if not aces out the damage a RTS CV could deal. Funnily enough being better than the average CV player should make me more qualified to talk about them, no? Besides, CVs have always been measured by their most powerful representatives both in ships and in players. I fail to see why we should do any different with reworked CVs. The average player now is just as irrelevant as the auto dropping plane suiciding was back then. It's still possible to scout the entire map. Drop a fighter at one flank, scout/attack on the other. This happens a lot earlier than RTS CV scouting would happen thanks to a lack of service and launching times. The frequency in which a reworked CV can kill a DD is much higher than RTS CVs ever could. A reworked CV can kill all 5 DDs before the 10 minute mark passes, in a RTS CV this is an outright impossibility given their lack of RoF. As for AP DBs, even they can match the time-to-kill ratio of RTS CVs in the rework, tempered solely by RNG. To make up for that however their list of targets has also increased dramatically. Ships which were previously largely immune to AP DB citadels such as e.g. Fiji, Yamato, Hinden, etc. now eat them just like CVs eat flak. Fighter control may have been terrible however it existed for the sake of balance. A class that solely exists to grief others without being capable of fighting itself simply doesn't belong in this game. Fighter control could've been changed and tweaked, its removal is one of the reasons why the rework is fundamentally flawed. Because of the limitations of RTS CVs I had no trouble whatsoever playing DDs. There were large timeframes in which an RTS CV couldn't do anything to you which you could exploit. Likewise with AA much more deadly cover could be utilized to duck into if necessary. Nowadays it is outright impossible to play DDs. Attempting to cap inevitably brings in planes to deny it or, if they fail, get a revenge kill on you for it which is hardly worth the trade. Torping is irrelevant as few DDs have the range required to torp from within required distance of AA cover and even then that's not a guarantee for safety. Personally I believe that your newfound freedom in DDs doesn't actually stem from reworked CVs, it ironically stems from the meta shift away from DDs due to the rework. Back in the RTS iteration seeing 5 DDs per team was hardly rare, now it's usually 1-2 per match at best. A skilled reworked CV however is a far bigger threat to DDs than RTS CVs ever were. It only took me a single DD match to find that out and I haven't bothered to play DDs since. Which is purely subjective. Personally I find RTS CVs to be much more relaxing to play as it was a lot slower e.g. Besides, ever been the focus of a skilled reworked CV player? Because I have even with my limited surface ship experience since the rework happened and it is utterly laughable how helpless you are even in the best of AA ships. DFAA, AA skills, sector reinforcement, quite literally nothing you do matters. You will die and die quickly. And this is necessary to accommodate reworked CV play, hence why the very concept of reworked CV play is objectively garbage.

    CV Rework Discussion

And how so exactly? E.g. you quoted alpha strike, yet reworked CVs kill targets just as fast as, if not faster than before when considering the "reload time" of both iterations. AA? Heavily nerfed and necessarily so to accomodate reworked CV play, denying surface ships any real counterplay options. Hull survivability? Outright buffed. Plane reserves? Outright buffed too (as fighters no longer take up space anymore) Scouting? Global scouting which could be denied via AA and fighters has turned into local scouting which cannot be denied. As such it is traded off. Last I checked scouting in stats was only ~10k behind RTS CVs which is a difference that likely can't be felt ingame. Potential match influence? Same as before. Skill gap? Actually gotten worse. Tricks and exploits? RTS had one (counterstrafing), maybe two if we consider alt attacks. I can name a lot more with reworked CVs. Bugs? The ones with reworked CVs have far more negative impact on gameplay and are nigh unpredictable or can't be worked around unlike RTS ones. So yeah, I honestly can't see what is objectively better about the rework. Hardly. I've recently even tried Midway HVARs again and had no trouble getting a near fully aimed reticle on target whatsoever. Didn't matter if it was a Haru or a Cossack. The only issue was actually dealing consistent meaningful damage as the dispersion is wonky at best. Likewise with Haku rockets despite being a lot worse in final approach maneuverability. Practice with Enterprise pays off here. As for HE DBs, just exploit their newfound maneuverability and it's not exactly difficult to get a perfect drop angle onto a maneuvering DD.

    Kremlins AA

MAA. AFT is worthless because flak can be dodged.

    CV Rework Discussion

Generally speaking - can evade all flak (that is visible along with being able to predict most invisible flak) - can reliably hit targets regardless of its evasive maneuvers - knows a lot, if not all of the tricks/exploits currently plaguing reworked CVs and is able to execute them on a consistent basis Just the two first points tend to be enough however. The third one just sets apart the elite from the good.

    CV Rework Discussion

To sum it up: - reworked CVs have literally no counterplay assuming sufficient skill on part of the CV player - reworked CV mechanics have a shoddy and extremely buggy implementation to the point where it makes the previous RTS UI look good - reworked CVs have not only retained almost every single issue RTS CVs had, they've made them worse along with adding quite a number on top - reworked CVs have no active team utility and are designed solely to grief other classes

Simple answer to the Mega Stomps

Because clearly s like this one will be sorely missed. /s If your fun runs contrary to common courtesy and sportsmanship then no, you should not be allowed to have fun. Trying to help struggling players has already been attempted aplenty. There is nothing left to do with them except making the game as punishing as possible for them.
  16. Yeah, it's not like we've been dealing with BB overpopulation for a few years at this point.

    Karma/Report - mechanic - discussion

Since Karma doesn't actually do anything useful there is no point in tweaking it. In fact there is no point in its existence at all.

Simple answer to the Mega Stomps

No, it won't. If you want to play high tier then you'll simply need to git gud. Aside from that MM constraints are lenient enough to make sure high tier ships will always find matches even if the majority of the population shifts to mid tier. That has been the case in beta. Except these are things that actually enable you to make more money. There is no point in skipping them and there won't be. Again, if people are leaving the game just because they can't constantly sabotage high tier matches then the game is better off without them. Lack of skill is rampant in this game. It doesn't matter at all whether it is deliberate, sabotage is still sabotage. No we don't. That has been the policy of this game for years and created many of the issues we face today. Ultimately to solve them we need to shift away from this bull policy of enabling s to play without consequences.

That's a nice joke. Got any more of those?
  20. Eh, don't worry about it. Your death gave me more time to farm a bit more damage. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  21. El2aZeR

Simple answer to the Mega Stomps

Because s will inevitably be incapable of sustaining high tier play, forcing them to populate mid tiers. It also severely punishes ed playstyles assuming sufficient economy adjustments are made. And if someone quits the game just because he can't constantly sabotage high tier games it's very much for the better.

Simple answer to the Mega Stomps

It's very simple. Make the economy actually punishing and the problem will solve itself.
  23. Prepare yourselves, even more brainmelting content courtesy of @Saiyko: @MrConway apparently this guy is threatening to send some kind of hitman after me to break my bones (if I understood him correctly). While personally I believe this is all extremely amusing and ofc entirely made up, I have to ask. Would such a threat be punished via ingame ban?
  24. El2aZeR

Simple answer to the Mega Stomps

Being realistic isn't the same as being pessimistic. The simple truth is that for any kind of league based system to work, you need a sufficient playerbase to sustain it. WoWs is far from having that as calculated by yourself, hence why your proposed system will inevitably fail no matter how much you tweak it.
