    1. How so? You honestly believe just because a few players are now available across multiple tiers/classes is going to change anything? Unless ofc you're planning to force players to use your system? If so then prepare for a storm. You inherent flaw is assuming everyone will use your system. They won't. We'll have maybe 5% of the population utilize it and even that strikes me as too high. And you're still dealing with a limited population. Again, just because players are available across multiple tiers doesn't change the potential number of matches that can be formed via MM. Player numbers are stable across the board, there is no noteworthy influx of new players to make any consideration of a new system worthwhile. 2. So completely random then considering pretty much all tiers can be considered low population. How does exactly does that solve anything? And how do you know players will choose different tiers and classes even? E.g. BBs have almost always been the most popular class by far, so it won't be uncommon for someone to just choose different high tier BBs and not contribute to your supposed better distribution at all (assuming they're even using your system which probably won't happen in the first place). Seriously your idea is more built upon hopes and dreams than anything else.

  3. Funnily enough we're already at a population resembling the time between 2017 and 2018. The reason why CVs are more prevalent now is thus not the player numbers but the concentration of these players into fewer tiers. So even when it comes to overall popularity, the perhaps most important goal set by WG, the rework is actually a failure just as it fails at everything else. If we drop further that means the rework is actually gonna be LESS popular than RTS CVs.
  4. It's not, it only triggers when planes are damaged. As soon as the damaged plane is shot down AR speed bonus no longer applies. I guess they did this so you can't just artificially boost your speed via squad shortening, but it just made the skill kinda meh at best. Now it's just straight up worthless. Heal I can kinda understand (even if I don't particularly agree with it), but that they believe AR doesn't need changes is hilarious.
  5. I'm actually pretty sure that that the overpen only change for large caliber AP shells on DDs applies to AP bombs as well. I did some testing with Enterprise bombs when the rework came out and never managed to get penetration damage on anything but Khaba and Haru. Maybe GZ is just different tho.

    I'm rather sure even something as insignificant as showing crew in port would affect the age rating of this game (which is a pretty big deal actually). Which is why we're unlikely to see this return. In fact I don't remember this ever making it into the game.

    No it doesn't. Assuming they haven't changed the formula (and I'm not aware that they have) you need 40 plane kills to equal a full 100% HP kill. Hardly very rewarding.

    1. You're still dealing with an extremely limited playerbase. 2. How is MM supposed to prioritize queue and tiers? If you prioritize high tiers it will inevitably starve low tiers etc. If you allow it to choose at random then literally nothing changes. Edited

Let me list the issues you haven't solved: - low overall player numbers - massively unequal distribution of player skill leading to inevitable flood of low skilled players into higher brackets Let me list the issues you have created meanwhile: - punishment for being good at the game by introducing +3 tier MM, something which has previously been removed from this game as the power gap between tiers was too high regardless of player skill - punishment for having a lucky streak (which is very likely to happen) or alternatively excessive reward for a losing streak - smurfing (we all know it's gonna happen) And now lets list the issues you have solved: - nothing Congrats, you have envisioned a system worse than WG's random MM. And all you've done is tell us to play 20 random games and take that as data. After being given the results you start spamming your bull. Go figure.

    I'm doing neither. Just quoting a passage to structure my arguments and not cluttering this forum unlike you. If you can't deal with that, maybe you're the one who's immature? Except there are mechanics in this game unaffected by skill, so no, it won't even out. Lying is not very smart. Approx. 80% of all players in a match are guaranteed to be s, of which about 30% are guaranteed to be super s.. Just install the MM monitor and see for yourself.

    Yes, squad shortening is pre-dropping. Accelerated bailout is abusing the immunity period and speed boost after a drop to make your planes reach immunity altitude faster with less casualties. This is achieved by accelerating immediately after an attack then pressing F, all while still in the drop animation.

    Which is fair enough. I mean, on the other hand it's a relative buff to the Enterprise. AGAIN. Meanwhile already weak CVs are going to become even weaker. Take the Furious bombers for example, you have a squad of 4 with an attack wing of 2, making them become a one off weapon that is already pretty ineffective. And ofcgetting up tiered is going to be even more painful than it is already. If the goal was to nerf the Saipan and other overperforming CVs there are far better ways to do it. This just hits more wrong spots than right ones. Meh, chance of hitting something with a single plane is fairly low and damage is often negligible. I'd say that makes the last attack wing rather pointless. Spreading the damage between the bailing planes is currently pretty much the only chance they have for survival until they reach immunity altitude. Even against low AA ships they'll often come back heavily damaged. If damage is applied to a single plane instead chances are they're all going to die in short order.

    Basically: - Saipan and other CVs with low squad sizes, low reserves and/or long respawn times are probably going to become unplayable. - Bailing attack wings are pretty much guaranteed to die. - last attack wing can never be used - heal for TBs becomes rather pointless Meanwhile surface ships will continue to be frustrated since if CVs weren't guaranteed a single strike before, they surely are now. And well, this only makes stuff like slingshotting, squad shortening and accel bail even more essential, once again widening the skill gap.

    There is a difference between a challenge and straight up bull. There are extremely few ships in this game that can stand up to a 3 tier spread, hence why it was removed in the first place. If you only take winning and losing as a measurement of skill, yes it does. And you have provided no evidence that proves otherwise. And ofc you accuse me of doing mostly "divs in op ships" as this is the only thing you have left. Defending your bad idea with straight up lies. Pathetic.

    That's literally no different to a skill based MM system which attempts to equalize people towards 50% WR, punishing good players for doing well. Except this is actually kinda worse as you're forcing skilled players to meet ships outside of the MM tier spread which creates ridiculous power gaps. So e.g. because I do well in a Kongo I suddenly have to fight Amagis, NCs, etc.? Absolutely ridiculous. Likewise again because the playerbase is NOT equally distributed in skill all you'd get is a ton of s cycling in and out of the higher tier brackets due to a lack of hard borders, which means your idea even fails your original intention. Basic example: Assume you have 100 players of which 10 are skilled in your system. These 10 skilled players will immediately rise in tier ranks. However because no skilled players are left to kick the other 90 down the ladder in the lower ranks that means some of these 90 will inevitably rise in rank too because they're only playing against opponents of similar skill. And because these 90 players vastly outnumber the 10 these 10 players can't kick them down fast enough, creating an endless cycle of s moving in and out of the higher ranks. Precisely why they will never change it despite it being acknowledged as a major issue.

    Last strike squad = last attack wing you're left with. As in if your squad can attack a total of three times and you expend your first two attacks, your boost is refilled. Honestly it's still a pretty worthless skill since you often don't get to use your last attack wing. If you do the extra boost tends to not help anyway. Take it if you have a point left over and all other more useful one pointers are taken, otherwise leave it.

  23. Wow, Tanaka is being generous today. Only ~1 hour and 45 mins to go. Guess I'll try my luck in E2 for a bit. Well, at least you can try to LSC her with Iowa now. EDIT: Well, that's it. Didn't get anything noteworthy from E2 but meh, I'm fine with that.

    Time to stop CVs in ranked.

    Losses are inevitable unless you can make drops from stealth or use island cover. You have to think about whether that smoke is worth striking in the first place. If e.g. one of the ships in said smoke is low HP it might be worth a try. (Or if you just want to them off like I typically do. ) Squad shortening, slingshot with DBs and accel bailout are essential regardless. You can also try long range shenanigans with some TBs.

    If I see at least one guy complaining about how CVs are that's mission accomplished for me. Which is pretty much every match. :)
