Well, Enterprise isn't a T8 CV.

Interesting post about Ramming tests in Training room...
El2aZeR replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Double damage ram can be easily explained. Khaba survived the initial ram for a fraction of a second thanks to the damage reduction from flag and rammed the Yama again, resulting in double damage. Afaik last time they explained ramming mechanics (sadly can't find the post) they stated that there is a modifier when it comes to which class rams which. If I remember correctly a DD ramming a BB should only inflict ~half damage. Apparently this doesn't count for bow/stern collisions as seen in the video. Also I believe ramming mechanics take real speed into account, not ingame speed. Meaning that if you ram something at 10kn you're doing it at ~30kn real speed or sth along those lines. -
Except you also got an upgrade for free, just not as big of a one as your friends.

CV Hotfix is here! (How to make the Big E stand out even more).
El2aZeR replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
That's an understatement and a half. Are you for real? Whose guide did you read/watch? -
Honestly it seems more like WG is this "one kid with a cool idea" to me. Reworked CVs are probably a continuation of the guided missiles they tested. Despite being horrendously balanced they found the gameplay to be oh so fun that they simply looked for alternative ways to implement it. CVs were selected as the obvious but unfortunate victim for that. And now they're stuck with trying (and inevitably failing) to make it work because they believe their idea is so much fun they must have it in the game. (Although if you check the various WG clans on both EU and RU it looks to me as if more WG employees quit playing CVs after the rework than started/continued to play funnily enough.)

Randomizing flak is again a horrible idea because the flak system itself has a horrendous implementation. Nah, as long as the general aiming pattern and set time to react doesn't change it's all fine. Again, what you're suggesting is in the game right now. Flak used to be a lot more concentrated, they spread it out, made the AI aim better and gave some RNG to it in terms of spread. Likewise flak used to deal a lot more damage, they realized it was still laughably easy to dodge even after adjustments so they shifted the damage towards DPS instead. The flak system is an outright failure and should be removed. Then again that could be said about the rework as well.
-
No, you literally can't tamper with how close a wall spawns. Because flak damage and flak visuals are entirely separate things. The damage zone spawns instantly, whereas flak itself needs like 1 second to render at minimum. Often it needs more than that, sometimes it doesn't render at all for whatever reason. And even better flak visual rendering is dependent on you looking at it, too. So if you look to the side and a wall spawns in front of you and you look back, rendering of flak visuals will still delay by at least a second so unless you simply know from experience that the flak damage zone is there and dodge, there is no way you can evade it in time. Ever since the plane speed nerf flak already renders very late, just giving you enough time to react. And that's with the fastest render delay, if it renders late (or not at all) you have no chance of dodging if you rely on visuals only. That means you can only increase the distance of flak spawns which would be an outright CV buff. Shortening it just guarantees flak to be invisible all the time.
-
Which would be impossible because of the way the system works. If a wall spawns short you're guaranteed to hit it because you won't be given feedback that it's there in time. The last thing we need is to make invis flak worse. You know as well as I do that WG scoffs at ideas that do not involve direct damage dealing.
-
Quite frankly no. A simple pattern change doesn't mean I can no longer misdirect it or just use speed to dodge. Even if you upped flak to the maximum amount possible on every ship it wouldn't change a thing aside from being extremely annoying as it obstructs vision.

The old one worked within its confines and did what it was supposed to do. It was a fine system once you understood how it worked. (And no, it wasn't just a gigantic RNGfest contrary to popular belief.) The funny thing about the current AA system is that it has already been proven not to work during testing. WG designed reworked AA completely around the flawed assumption that maneuvering would only be able to mitigate flak damage, not negate it outright. Once that has been proven otherwise the whole system just falls apart. Just look at how many major revisions AA has undergone already and will continue to do so because its very core idea was flawed in the first place and WG is trying to brute force it into something that resembles a fair and balanced system which is bound to fail. And obviously you can't just roll back to the old AA system either because the framework to support it (aka RTS CVs) no longer exists. Reworked AA has already been shifted to a straight up numbers game as DPS is the primary factor in AA-plane interaction now. Flak plays an unnecessary part in addition to being heavily flawed in its implementation. As such you could remove flak outright without any other changes and the rework would actually be better than before.

Doesn't work. If you know your timings you don't even need to maneuver to dodge flak. What you're suggesting is precisely what they tried in testing. Back then only close range AA had DPS, mid and long range were flak only. Even now lower tier planes retain much higher maneuverability precisely because of that. WG was completely caught off guard by players being able to dodge all flak with minimal effort because apparently they didn't think it was possible. Flak as the main AA component has been proven not to work. In fact the flak system itself is so full of flaws, shoddy implementations and bugs the rework would be much better off removing it and count completely on DPS instead.

Take it. Every bit of HP counts. Besides, what else are you going to pick?

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
El2aZeR replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Remember. CVs are unplayable now. We had no chance both times. Highest teammate we had in the first match was less than 40% while over half of your team was SU. In the 2nd game highest teammate was 45% (excluding you) while enemy team was same story as 1st match. As evidenced by the Shima running 20km torps getting two kills with those. You should install the MM monitor. It makes predicting match outcome laughably easy nowadays so you can just farm your own damage and disregard your team if you happen to have only s as teammates. And that happens a lot. -
Inb4 teamkill to slingshot? On a more serious note, would be an issue with consistency that WG likes to praise. Personally I like the suggestion tho.
-
But then you no longer have glorious cinematic gameplay that pulls in s. Aka this will never happen.
-
Which will prevent normal reengagement of a target. The current cd is already pretty close to the minimum time required to reengage. Also TBs do actually get immunity, but it is a lot shorter because the camera doesn't stay with the torps after you drop. Same with RFs.
-
Slingshot can't be removed because it was meant to solve this: So pick your poison. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
Not enough weeb power on these forums to pressure WG. You can change this.

Was alpha (as can be seen in the screenshot ). Hakuryu was in CBT already. And quite frankly out of the two I actually like Hakuryu much better. Sure, it's a paper design but Shinano was an engineering disaster. I can only imagine what stupid gimmicks Akagi and Shinano are going to have. In fact I bet Shinano will end up as a testbed for the alt CV line considering she was supposed to be a support CV.

Nah, I just enjoy rubbing salt into people's wounds. As you should know first hand. :P -
PSA: Apparently looking straight up while piloting planes can cause the game to freeze. So don't do it. (Not that you'd ever have a real reason to ofc.)
