So basically CV snipefest at the beginning? Despite what most people believe CVs can kill each other pretty fast once they get within a certain distance of each other, especially below T10. If what you theorize were true we'd essentially see a CV sniping race at the start of the match which will in most cases decide it right then and there. In fact the match could get decided on which CV you have alone. Some are naturally better at sniping/defending against a snipe than others. Yeah, can't say that sounds particularly exciting either.

I mean, they did say that you can't expect CV players to control their hull AND aircraft at the same time. I am genuinely surprised they didn't simply go with removing the CV hull from the map and let planes fly in from the border at this point. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Well yeah, guess why? Because if you learn how to play hybrid DDs properly you automatically know how to play every single DD line. It might as well be a requirement for DD play in general. You just won't experience the same frustration at being garbage in every single one of your capabilities when doing so in a hybrid line so why ever bother going the hard way? Playing IJN DDs has taught me absolutely nothing beyond the most basic of basics even back when this game only had 2 DD lines. Playing USN DDs meanwhile has taught me valuable lessons I've had to apply to every DD line played ever since. It is far too easy to veer off into horrendous habits with IJN torp DDs. Sure, if you manage to avoid that you might become a decent DD player but why take the risk? Play a line that is guaranteed to make you into a good DD player as bad habits will make you straight up die with them, not a line where bad habits will "only" make you completely worthless for your team.

Wat. If anything IJN torp DDs teach incredibly bad habits because they themselves are far too limited in their capabilities. Everything that can be learned with them can be learned with any hybrid line because hybrid lines fulfill the very same roles as IJN torp DDs while offering other options that IJN torp DDs do not have access to. If you want to learn how to DD, IJN torp DDs are possibly the worst line to start with.

You're joking, right? If the Conq just remotely knows how to angle this "nerf" has absolutely no effect. What WG is doing here is just unnerfing Conq heal (something they, you know, nerfed for a reason), the citadel adjustment will have little to no consequences for all but the most ed s so most Conqs you meet will be stupidly difficult to kill unless they misplay horribly.

While true, it's better to have a great ship to work towards rather than being recommended the perhaps worst DD line in the game only to find out later that pretty much everything about them sucks in comparison.

Really? That's what you come up with? I mainly play high tier matches. If someone were to ask me how to aim in a T10 battle (and yes, this has actually occured. More than once in fact) or anything else extremely basic then I can assure you I wouldn't be polite. Because the player who is asking doesn't even believe in the basic courtesy of learning the game first before jumping to high tiers, making themself a gigantic liability their teammates now have to deal with. If you would ask me in low tiers, fine, I'd probably give you an answer along the lines of "go watch some tutorials" and that'd be all you get. Ingame I have other things to do.

Yes. And no, I was not too harsh. I gave a perfectly appropriate response. If you want more polite responses, then that requires a (more or less) polite call for help. The OP is clearly not looking for help. My sympathies for "new" players with several thousands of matches played have evaporated within a year after OBT starting. In fact nowadays the only real reason I still play is to make their game experience as miserable as possible. Also characterizing a player with almost 7500 battles and dozens of high tier ships as new LOL.

Meh, they're easiest to come by in a CV tbh. All you require is a large enough map, a sufficient point lead, most if not all of the objectives secured and a team that furiously insists on throwing the match. I believe pretty much all my solo warriors in CVs were earned this way. Not that such a situation occurs very often ofc (if that wasn't obvious yet), but I reckon the chance of that happening is way higher than trying to kill/outscore 4+ ships in any other class.

Better question: Is there any reason we shouldn't be mocking this player? Or to quote: "Respect is earned, not given." The OP certainly hasn't earned any with an opening post like that. In fact it shows a complete lack of skill and will to do better, instead choosing to blame the developer for their own failures which is an outright insult to anyone who has actually bothered with such. I see absolutely no reason why we should be understanding of such players. I, and I believe many others here, are sick and tired of abysmal players blaming everything but themselves for their lack of success. As long as it is within forum rules anything goes. Call it toxic if you want, see if anyone really cares.
