    Except if you take note of the interval between the last flak wall before invis flak spawning and the new single one from mid range it fits the normal flak spawning interval perfectly. This is how you usually tell that invis flak has spawned and since you need to preemptively dodge flak anyway you tend to not even notice. But trust me, that happens more often than you'd like. It also covers more area than a single burst would, thus it was leftover from long range flak. Nah, port value listed is the maximum amount possible (unless ofc WG is lying again). In this particular example TIrpitz can spawn a maximum of 7 explosions with long range, but both visible times only 3 were spawned. Thus we can conclude that this player did not have the +2 flak upgrade. Yeah, but you did get Lumberjacks seal of approval because he's trying to latch onto your theory to save his own hide.

    On a different note, Ark Royal uses T4 planes. While she does get fairly fast regen on her RFs (47s, 1s faster than Enterprise RFs) and DBs (56s, 4s faster than Enterprise TBs) her TBs, which are apparently her most effective weapon by far, have 81s regeneration (5s longer than Enterprise DBs). And no, she doesn't get big reserves either (14/9/14). This ship is supposed to deal with T6 MM where the only options are getting up-tiered and getting up-tiered harder.

I just don't record matches anymore (as I didn't here either, this is from a replay). @Panocek This time we have: - no other ship in range to use AA - a ship already firing AA so prediction should be as described in S_O's official post Thus your theory about "base speed prediction" doesn't hold up. Now I understand why exactly I took damage and in retrospect I should've expected glorious "working as intended" mechanics to be where the game didn't show me (as usual), but really, this is not a bug? @WG_Lumberjack tell me again how you weren't lying to my face?

    Quite honestly spectator mode would be pretty far down on my list of priorities as well given the current state of the game. Every single employee that works on the spectator mode isn't working on: - the CV rework - new mechanics - new ships - glorious NTC and so on. You know, stuff they expect to earn money. It's not that I don't agree with you and I'd be rather skeptical about it being "too much work" as well, but reality is WG prefers to do things that fills their pockets which from a business perspective what they do does make sense. As for how far they can go with that, pretty far as WG is thoroughly exploiting that they have a monopoly in this particular niche genre. As long as they don't go completely overboard with their money making schemes players have no choice but to turn to WoWs if they want to play something with this setting.

    The former two have meh AA at best while the latter suffers from overreliance on DFAA and has two extremely crippling weaknesses when it comes to air defense, one of which she shares with all other AA DDs. How about you take your own advice and go inform yourself before spouting nonsense? I can assure you that the issue lies with you and not CVs. So perhaps follow the advice CV players have been condescendingly spouting to surface ship players ever since 0.8.0 and git gud?

    Filter for it on wows-numbers? The only thing that rivals CVs are incredibly strong/limited playerbase premiums. And a bit of analysis will also reveal why that is. In fact said premiums don't scale nearly as well as CVs once you start filtering for skill too. Game mechanics are designed for an intended purpose. If players manage to find something that isn't that, it is up to the devs to decide whether to keep it or not. A lot of them can also be anticipated if you actually know your game. If players are using the mechanic to its intended purpose then there is no need for further adjustment assuming it isn't too strong or too weak. How to determine that depends on the skill level you desire for it. This is all done without consideration of average player skill.

    According to the KPM statistic CVs also deal the most effective damage in the game. To say your narrative doesn't hold up would be an understatement. No, balancing is about providing equal opportunity to all contestants, thus making skill the deciding factor on match outcome. That means the human factor is actually completely irrelevant to balance.

    Wanna know what would be funny? At this point I'm not even putting it past them that they're intentionally trying to reduce the CV playerbase even further so that they can justify a rollback to the RTS iteration.

    If you use mouse look to look straight up while flying aircraft the game will freeze. Or so I have been told. Haven't tried myself.

    Meh, it was inevitable we'd end up here tbh what with WG having absolutely no clue where to take this glorious rework they've forced upon us. At this point it just looks like they're throwing at a wall and hope something sticks.

    Immersion went out of the window when CVs went from actual aircraft carriers to insert coin plane dispensers. I honestly don't get why people believe new CV gameplay to be more immersive when it is exactly the opposite on practically every level. Naturally this includes how flak works. And I can only ask again, what is a "good" implementation of flak mechanics? Reminder that putting everything up to RNG to negate all player skill on both sides is horrible. And because this is a server sided game some mechanics such as flak damage and rendering separation cannot simply be "made better".

    So basically "muh immersion" (which honestly shouldn't even be that high considering flak behaves in a completely unrealistic manner) and something that may as well be worthless in the face of the annoyances its implementation creates. I still see nothing that needs to be kept. Flak should be cosmetic only. Just render surface ship flak for CVs and its all good.

    New numbers on maplesyrup are out btw. A maximum of 2456 players played CVs last week (1212 high tier, 1244 low tier). This is marginally better than last week so I don't believe we'll see any gigantic leaps anytime soon. I for one am happy to see this garbage pile crash and burn. It deserved nothing less.

    That would depend on the implementation of mechanics now, doesn't it? Removing flak is about the only thing you can still do that makes a concession to casuals without compromising game balance. And considering the mechanic itself is horribly designed, buggy to the extreme and does nothing but serve as a basic skill check there is literally no reason to keep it.
