You are severely underestimating how garbage the average player is. Most CVs I've seen can't even hit BBs with rockets. I wish I was joking.

Except it isn't. Attacking anything with heavy AA results in a single strike and all planes lost. Multiple AA ships meanwhile can only be effectively attacked with use of cover or slingshot. And that is precisely how it is supposed to be. Making AA progression less steep would ironically result in a nerf to CVs as it would mean tier <10 AA ships can finally defend themselves against same tier CVs. It does not result in a nerf for T10 AA as that is needed to be at its current strength to defend against T10 CVs. The only AA that needs nerfing is the catapult fighter and BB AA. In exchange DFAA should be enhanced to shift the AA role away from BBs which need nerfing anyway.

Comparing CVs to the most braindead of classes which is desperately in need of nerfing precisely because it takes no skill to play. Right. You may as well just openly state that you want to all over everyone else without effort nor regard to balance. Even Atago kills T6 planes when under focus from two of them. Especially if they can't dodge flak. I fail to see how that is relevant. Pray tell, if you refuse to learn or use tools at your disposal, why exactly should you be able to find success? Seems more like to me that such mechanics have to be included in balancing since WG officially deemed them as mechanics and not exploits. Not like they had much of a choice considering the shoddy implementation of the rework. Also I've already alienated myself by being skilled it seems. Why even bother hiding my contempt for people who previously told everyone to git gud, yet refuse to do the same now? Besides, we've just been calling 90% of all players garbage for years. Hardly something new. Because knowing that you'll just get endlessly struck over and over again since you can't cause significant plane losses sounds so fun and rewarding. Apparently punishing CVs for poor target choice is off limits these days.

Stats seem to suggest it, although personally I'm a bit baffled as to why that is since her characteristics seem unsuited for the new AA mechanics. My only guess would be that perhaps the 44 remaining Saipan players are actually fairly competent for the most part. Maybe I'll play her myself later purely out of curiosity.

And what do you base that on? I'll grant you that some CVs were far more affected than others and thus could probably do with some minor buffs (although evidence that they are fine also exists), but overall CVs seem more than fine to me in terms of match influence. Nothing that has been shown so far suggests that they are weak nor unplayable.

Is that not truthful in some way? Precisely. A more balanced reworked CV iteration will never be fun for the great majority of players due its inherent design. If you can't all over surface ship players without any risk nor effort whatsoever then the great majority of players immediately loses interest. Your post perfectly cements my point. Aircraft losses are only excessive if you allow them to be and both CV damage potential and potential influence on a match is objectively speaking still very high. They are extremely far from unplayable. They have just become more balanced than before and now actually punish poor play. Thus it was more than expected that the rework population would fall into the abyss. Doesn't seem likely if their goal was to reduce overall CV influence. I highly doubt anything will be done before the new sector reinforcement change goes live anyway. And here I will agree with CV players that it sounds terrible. Not because it nerfs CVs, but because like CVs it violates the inherent need for counterplay and is as such a terrible mechanic. You do not balance one broken mechanic with another. Never. I managed to get both the dotdotdot guy AND the secondaries-on-CVs dude banned. Fear me.

Ofc not. That extends way beyond just CVs. Was anyone really surprised that the Kremlin turned out the way she did e.g.? Still means the rework was doomed to fail from the beginning tho. Except they did. Reversion back to 0.8.4 AA will not be considered and 0.8.5 AA is in fact here to stay according to an official statement from S_O on reddit.

And I have done nothing but base my arguments on simple facts that can be easily checked for yourself. E.g clearly CVs are not unplayable just because potatoes can't make them work anymore as is evidenced by stats. That these potatoes can't or don't want to accept it, while extremely amusing to me personally, is nonetheless objectively irrelevant. As for predictions about the rework, I was actually spot on. Game design isn't rocket science and neither are WG's intentions veiled in secrecy. Some basic knowledge in both would've allowed anyone to see where this rework will go. Which is contradicting your previous statement about the difference between "only" and "too much". The phrase is "CVs, not just Enterprise". "Not just" implies that I either only play E or that I only find success with her. It can quite literally have no other meaning. Simply navigating to your preferred stat site will also prove that wrong as mine are openly available. As such you're actually the one who is misinterpreting the statement at hand despite the meaning being abundantly clear (for reasons I'm sure you won't share). However it is also a multiplayer PvP game with random MM where teamwork plays a substantial part. Because a sentence that can only have a single meaning can clearly be misinterpreted. C'mon, are you even trying? Originally I came here because I loved this game and wanted to partake in discussions on it. But seeing WG make it worse and worse along with s constantly ing about how the game should conform to them, not that they should learn, adapt and overcome, has... disillusioned me I suppose. That the majority of them supported the rework despite clear warnings was just the last straw. So yeah, I no longer give a . And look who's laughing now.

Because clearly I've only been talking about Enterprise. We're going full circle here, aren't we? Perhaps you never had a point in the first place? I've made it no secret that I hate this playerbase. And reworked CVs provide the optimal platform to ruin the fun of said playerbase one way or another. Reactions are priceless both here and ingame. In that way playing reworked CVs are fun I suppose, but evaluated on gameplay alone it's horrible all around. Stale, boring, repetitive, shallow and perhaps most important of all, buggy beyond belief.

Lost 40 planes to mostly insignificant AA opposition. Still manages 130k damage. TB reserves are completely untouched as well so that's a ton of reserve planes. I have no words truly. Also really, how do you even lose 30 fighters in just supposedly 12 minutes? Did you use them to inflate plane losses in hopes we don't notice? Also is that a deliberate attempt to obscure match time? With your level of dishonesty, everything is possible.
