    CV Rework Discussion

Autopilot, which was never very reliable to begin with, has been completely broken ever since WG "improved" it with the latest patch. Under no circumstances should you rely on it, regularly check your position and route on the minimap. Also stay away from islands if you can help it. As of the latest patch autopilot will start to immediately ignore all commands if you sail near one.

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

indeed. Wanna bet on how hilariously they'll it up?

You don't even know what that is, do you?

RTS CVs. Do you miss us now?

Been there, done that. Haku torps actually still hurt a lot and a AP DB follow up will pretty much guarantee a kill.
  6. Except it is an impossibility anyway to balance AA across 5 tiers unless you compress everything to something so similar it'd become a borefest.

I meant against a lone Iowa as described in the situation above. Reworked Haku and Midway will easily kill you in the time their RTS counterparts will hit you for "only" 3/4 of your health.

RTS CVs. Do you miss us now?

True, but 3/4 health in the same timespan as previously is more than possible. Also I'm actually pretty sure an RTS CV would take longer than that given the stated competence level.

Stalin always had 50% weaker DFAA. It's more like they're preserving her gimmick.
  10. WG finally realized their AA-plane progression model is garbage. Just 2 years too late.

I hope you realize that this can also easily happen with reworked CVs. Again, the rework changed nothing for the better.

I am well aware, hence the 3km limit instead of something closer.

    CV Rework Discussion

Even better. Considering even with DFAA you're guaranteed to get two strikes off as well as your approach in direction of your team that just means he's isolating himself. Any smart DD player will turn away towards his teammates. Which gives you a guaranteed first strike however. A number in excess of 16k while not common is not rare either.

    CV Rework Discussion

This is incorrect. Grozo has at best ~3km air concealment which is about the minimum distance required for a rocket strike. The only attack you can't make in that distance is if he's sailing head on towards you. Heal and DFAA are accounted for. 2 attacks per squad are sufficient to deplete HP due to how much damage Grozo tends to take if you're halfway lucky. During smoke you do not need to waste time hovering above either, meaning no time wasted. Naturally I'm not gonna include this time in my calculations since you're not putting your focus on the Grozo during it.
  15. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ) Baltimore is also the only ship I've managed to get so far.

    CV Rework Discussion

Assuming a normal (aka smart) combat distance 2 minutes will only allow one squad to expend all full attacks with the second squad on the way. In fact due to them being slow as Audacious rocket planes are going to take much longer than that. A typical T10 CV strike nowadays takes about 1 1/2 minutes to execute (unless again you're flying Audacious RFs). It used to be a lot faster before the plane speed nerf. This is also incorrect. It should take you no longer than 6 minutes of focus if you're unlucky. On the other hand if you're lucky (no detonation) just 3 minutes, aka two squads, will suffice.

Eh, touche. You honestly believe the majority of this playerbase reads those? (Or can read? )

    Reporting chat abusers

You actually believe that? Considering this playerbase? Wanna bet most people won't even notice that there will be a setting for that?

Funny how you're now talking about some two minute limit when no one else was. Please be more intellectually dishonest.

The best secondary-build ship in the game?

If only the "MUH CV SECONDARIES!" dude were still here. He'd probably have some totally legit recommendations.

RTS CVs. Do you miss us now?

No, because other parameters have remained the same. Each class could fight each other, a fundamental pillar in this class based PvP game - until the rework. CVs could provide valuable assistance to teammates - until the rework. Surface ships could (kinda) counterplay CVs and make their skill in positioning and consumable management have impact on the CV player - until the rework. It's not apples and oranges, you're not comparing an entirely different system to another. You're comparing a part of it that has been exchanged for something else, thus has different impact on the other mechanics in the game which have been left untouched. This is what you can compare. And said comparison reveals that the rework is objectively worse. And it is also objectively a complete and utter failure judged by the goals it set for itself. Freely available public data taken directly from WG servers is incomplete. Okay then. The interest of WG is purely to make money these days. If you know just a little about game development you'd realize that either the WoWs team is being stripped for resources or simply doesn't give a anymore. E.g. you'd think any QA department worth its salt would notice that something as simple as the new autopilot "improvement" to navigate islands completely breaks its ability to do exactly that. If a mechanic fails its intended purpose that's not an edge case, it is an outright showstopper and should've never gone by completely unnoticed. And I'm actually leaning towards the latter because WG has repeatedly, outrageously lied to our faces at every turn of this rework. From the public reception of it to its supposed success, they have done nothing but misrepresent data and outright lie every time when the truth didn't suit them. And it is by far not the only instance in which they've done so to push their money making agenda. I'm not making this up. You can fact check it if you'd like. Basic example: When rework testing concluded testers were given a survey to evaluate it. This survey included 3 options: Like, liked some and dislike some and dislike. However when it came to present the results of this survey WG told us 30% of testers liked the rework and another 40% liked it but would like some changes. This is obviously an outright lie. If you e.g. only liked the visuals and hated everything else, if you thought that just one tiny aspect of the rework was okayish but everything else was terrible, you were still labeled as someone who liked the rework. Or just recently they stated that most players of top clans supported the NTC giving performance buffs to ships. Only after an actual poll was made which showed that the overwhelming majority denied such claims did they become silent about it. They didn't even admit that they lied, they just dropped the argument. WG has and will continue to lie about anything and everything as long as they see profit to be made. Their word cannot be trusted at face value.

    CV Rework Discussion

The question is rather how much time a CV needs to perform a follow up attack to give you this kind of window, which ofc depends on the maneuverability of the aircraft. By the time your AA key comes off cooldown the 2nd strike could be executed already. According to the graph it's 5 seconds to ramp up the AA reinforcement to full which in itself also lasts an additional 5 seconds. After that 10 second cd applies. That means if you can execute a 2nd attack within 20 seconds you're golden. So repeat after me: ENTERPRISE BUFF Gj WG.

RTS CVs. Do you miss us now?

Which is fine. Doesn't change that objectively speaking one is worse than the other tho. Yeah, no. You can actually measure and compare ingame impact based on how the inherent mechanics are supposed to and do function. Just because e.g. WG doesn't want you to fight the enemy CV in yours doesn't make it okay nor a particularly smart design decision. Would you be fine with WG installing bitcoin miners along with WoWs on your PC too just because they think it's good for the game? In this respect the rework fails far harder than the RTS iteration. It offers literally no objective improvement for any party involved and has failed every single stated goal it was supposed to achieve.
  24. El2aZeR

RTS CVs. Do you miss us now?

It is not about skill level (although that has dramatically fallen with the rework). It is about the objective design and impact of mechanics. If we compare RTS to the rework we get the following: - RTS had better team support and could actively fight the other CV. This is a required that should NOT be violated as it applies to every other class as well - RTS had vastly more counterplay potential due to AA being far more powerful - both iterations have about the same scouting potential because unlike in RTS methods to deny said scouting either no longer exist or are weakened, but this is made up for with only being able to actively scout one or at best two locations - both iterations have roughly the same damage potential - tier gaps have been made tremendously worse with the removal of odd tier CVs - AA progression has been made a lot worse, with most ships below T10 having inadequate AA to deny same tier CV strikes even en masse - rework is even more buggy than RTS, something I did not believe was possible but here we are - skill gap has actually widened - population is more or less the same now To list just a few things. There is nothing that the rework does better than the RTS iteration while introducing its own gigantic issues and problems, most of which are tied to its inherent design meaning they cannot be fixed without destroying it. Everything is either traded off (such as a skilled CV not being able to shut down a potato. Now the potato CV just shuts himself down which is NOT an improvement) or outright worse. As such this has nothing to do with preferences, the rework is objectively worse in every single category. Yeah no. At the highest level of CV play the only thing you do is deal damage. Fighters are only used for spotting or if a teammate under attack just happens to be in your flight path. The reason is very simple. You're actively shafting yourself and your team by going out of your way to protect your teammates. Every single second you spend not dealing damage while your enemy does is a second you fall further and further behind in the CV damage race. Nothing but damage matters in a CV. All you need to know is how to effectively apply it. What the enemy CV does with your teammates is largely irrelevant. Naturally this will incite the wrath of your teammates but hey, you want to win right? So don't give a about your teammates and go deal damage. The only time when fighters truly count is in a sniping duel with the enemy CV. And here every fighter you've not wasted on your teammates starts to become a valuable asset which is another reason why you shouldn't use them to protect your team.
