  1. Drop torp accel. IJN torps are plenty fast, as such the skill has no benefits. Currently I use this: https://wowsft.com/ship?index=PJSA110&modules=112221&upgrades=122413&commander=PCW001&skills=2282364984&consumables=11&lang=en Get them in this order: AS, IE, SE, AA, SS, CE, IEB, DCF. If you're not a fan of SS then DE or JoAT might be more valuable (although do keep in mind SS is apparently about to get buffed). DCF is a throwaway skill, I used to run LG instead but that skill has been made completely worthless with the latest AA adjustments. I also use the DB health upgrade as they are generally more valuable imo. I recommend using FCM1. Full concealment has few benefits in my experience especially considering current plane attrition.

    Direction Centre for Fighters

I don't think so tbh, but I'd have to check. Regardless currently it gives you an extra fighter on both summoned and hull fighters.

    CV's <----> balanced battles

Can confirm. Stats are a perfect match. You're not fooling anyone dude. Asashio is still a garbage ship and your performance still isn't anything special.

    CV Rework Discussion

They already believe the majority of the playerbase is too stupid for manual ship control on CVs, so yeah. And they're not exactly wrong.

    Nerf HE and fires.

Except you cannot force them into such roles with the way the game is designed, plain and simple. It's actually how all asymmetric PvP games are designed. This is not a simulator. Because being able to just indefinitely hold off players by bow camping is so skillful and would be so much better amirite? /s DoT is designed so that braindead static playstyles shouldn't be viable. That they are implies it isn't strong enough. Then why play a PvP game? And you think getting shot at in any other game is interactive in some way? Or on that note, why not remove AP shells instead? Constantly being able to broadside without fear of punishment would totally be much more realistic and fun. Except using cheats is against rules, fairness and sportsmanship. Otherwise you may as well ask why people in irl sports aren't breaking rules constantly. Except they are if you're the guy setting them. Perhaps you don't, but that'd be subjective. Again, you're not supposed to have fun when being targeted by a mechanic. The days when games were all rainbows and sunshine are long past us. Funnily enough games purely designed to be fun are practically non-existent nowadays, especially when it comes to PvP games where your direct goal is to ruin your opponent's fun. Then don't play the game. Again, this is an arcade game that doesn't adhere to realism nor did it ever intend to beyond pre-alpha development, where it was determined the game wouldn't be fun with a more realistic outlook. If you refuse to adapt to the game, don't expect it to adapt to you.

Better question, would the game be better if based on a RPS scheme? The obvious answer is no, because the game never employed an RPS scheme in the first place. Being RPS-like is not equal to RPS itself. RPS-like only implies that every mechanic must have its counterplay options. This has been violated primarily by BBs and, more recently, by CVs. So no, it's not a good thing, but probably not in the way you're implying. Fires are realistic, not arbitrary. Fires are not counter-intuitive. Shoot something explody at something extremely flammable such as a warship and it bursts into flames. The only playstyles that DoT limits are ones that are supposed to be sanctioned. aka misplays. This is perfectly fine. A full survivability build is NOT necessary to combat DoT. E.g. in all my years of playing I have never used Fire Prevention on my BBs and I'm doing more than okay, in part because BBs are far too resistant against DoT even without a full survivability build. Fires are not supposed to be engaging. in a PvP game interaction is supposed to be fun, being interacted with is not. While making the creation of fires more consistent would be welcome, the mechanic itself is not supposed to be fun for the target just like every mechanic ever devised. Fires have very clear counterplay options. DCP/heal management and positioning via use of cover/concealment aren't rocket science. Better than playing World of Battleships as we have for the past 2-3 years now.

So you're saying that you're holding on to a flawed opinion that runs completely contrary to objective facts instead? How very surprising.

    CV Rework Discussion

Funny, because that would imply reworked AA is actually much, MUCH worse than RTS AA considering RTS AA had multiple active components to defeat an air strike while reworked AA has literally none. The contradictions you wrap yourself up in are amazing truly. And if you honestly believe a simple button press for instant damage constitutes as active counterplay, then boy there is truly no helping you.

    Nerf HE and fires.

RPS hasn't been part of this game in ages. And why isn't using fire to ensure BBs suffer eventually a viable path? Because of the perceived "lack of skill"? In that respect we could also just remove BBs entirely and be happy.
  12. El2aZeR

    Nerf HE and fires.

In short, no. In fact fires and cruiser/DD HE are too weak and have been for years because WG caters to braindead BB players such as OP. Conqueror doesn't epitomize the hatred for "uncounterable fire mechanics" or something of the sort, but for braindead BB play.

    CV Rework Discussion

No it does not. The only times this happens is when the devs completely ignore community feedback, are completely disconnected from their game or don't do community testing or any other kind of preliminary feedback gathering in the first place. Stop pretending you know game development. Also if you haven't noticed the only buff in there is sight stabilization. Adjustment to immunity altitude is offset by new overlapping AA and the AA tweaks are inevitably an overall buff because guess what, DFAA still exists. Strong AA ships will be able to make up the difference with that while weaker AA ships are supposed to get stronger, aka overall AA opposition will be far more heavy. Also note how WG is contradicting themselves once again by stating that AA efficiency will remain roughly the same before announcing sweeping changes. That's the kind of dev you put faith in? Yeah, have fun with that.

    CVs unplayable - demand refund

Enterprise may very well be the most overpowered premium in the game. She's practically a T10 CV in disguise if you know how to play her, so she not only up tiers well, she absolutely annihilates teams when top tier. And the perhaps most hilarious thing about her is that she's designed in a way that makes her incredibly difficult to nerf without also nerfing other CVs into oblivion. Truly WG's finest balans work to date. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    CV Rework Discussion

Actually untrue. RTS US AP bombs only had about 180mm penetration if I remember correctly, meaning they wouldn't have been able to pen glorious stalinium armor.
  16. Actually I did notice, but tbh it has been this way for a while. It's especially obvious if you want to use the tracers to attack via aircraft. Sometimes it renders spot on, sometimes it doesn't at all. If in doubt, it's working as intended.

    CV Rework Discussion

Which has not changed except the good CV player does not need to expend time and effort to shut down the bad one. Besides, due to a simple thing called ammo it was literally impossible to shut down the enemy CV at all times. Combine that with auto drop and it isn't hard to see why bad players in RTS were more successful than now. Aka the rework has dramatically worsened the issue. Hence why the rework fails completely in this regard. And everywhere else, really.

    Again, you're one of them.
  19. El2aZeR

    CV Rework Discussion

Precisely the point. No one plays reworked CVs unless they're blatantly overpowered. Quite literally the only reason WG is even remotely thinking about buffing CVs is because of population issues, NOT balancing issues. They've made as much apparent in their presentation.

    CV Rework Discussion

I highly doubt it. Reworked CVs are designed to on everything, which means that as soon as you can't do that anymore you have a "design flaw" so to speak. So you would have to buff one of the other plane types or create a new one to fill that gap in CV capabilities. Just look at what happens when reworked CVs can't easily on everything anymore. They become widely unpopular. Besides, I have a feeling that rocket planes were implemented precisely to serve as a crutch for less skilled players.
  21. El2aZeR

    CV Rework Discussion

Sure, but is this really inherent to the rework? Fact is the CV playerbase has changed for the worse, not CV capabilities. WAY worse, as in maybe two dozen players can consider themselves skilled vs the few hundred in the RTS iteration. The chances of meeting a potato CV that loses everything to minimal AA is simply much higher than before, it says nothing about the potential abilities of a CV however. Reworked CVs actually have much better anti-DD capabilities via rocket planes in both spotting and damage dealing. Personally I can first strike a Shira within 2 minutes of a match starting. That's faster than I can even launch my entire plane complement in the RTS iteration. Oh, they are, but by doing that they are making it worse. That's very typical when trying to fix badly designed mechanics. I work in this industry, at my previous company we had a feature in development that not only posed significant programming and design issues but turned out to be heavily unpopular with the playerbase. And no matter how we tried to tinker with it, we either were unable to change enough within the design boundaries of said mechanic to make an appreciable impact or we only made it worse. In the end after several months of trying this change and that adjustment we were forced to scrap said mechanic entirely because we couldn't make it not suck, a move that was very much appreciated by our players. And because we did all our testing on a dedicated testing server no harm came to players playing on live. As such the reality is very simple. The rework cannot be fixed because it is built upon heavily flawed fundamentals. The sensible thing to do is to scrap it and start over. However I can see why that would be an unpopular move within WG tho. It's basically wasted money on development AND comes with an inevitable refund. And this time it will have to be in cash due to the short time span. Aka WG will lose money on it, which is why they will never admit that the rework has failed hilariously in every aspect and continue to around with it at our expense.

    CV Rework Discussion

Yes, it's your opinion. You are entitled to have it. Facts say otherwise however. In fact judged by the very goals WG set for the rework it is pretty much equal or outright worse in every aspect. And if I may say, your by far most played surface ship class are BBs. BBs are the great winners of the rework, being improved in pretty much every single aspect even beyond mechanics related to aircraft. DDs, cruisers and, in a way, CVs however lose hard. It makes one wonder if this wasn't the actual goal of the rework, really. And I'm sure you can point out where I wasn't objective in my previous post. Also funny how you jump from me not getting your point to me being not objective. Perhaps stacking lies upon lies is the only thing you have left?
  23. El2aZeR

    CV Rework Discussion

On the contrary I have just proven that your point is nothing but a straight up lie.

    CV Rework Discussion

More bull and lies in a single post I have never seen. Christ. 1. Even a bad RTS CV would provide an obstacle that has to be overcome first by a unicum CV. That means having to divide attention between strike and fighter micro, pulling back strikes that just happen to be contested by fighters and denial of fighter scouting due to the need to use these to fight enemy fighters and strikes. Only after an enemy CV is near deprived of planes can the unicum CV do whatever he wants. So even a bad RTS CV did more to help the team than a reworked CV can ever hope to do even if he got trashed. 2. That current reworked CVs do not need to actively combat the enemy CV is a much bigger buff to unicum CVs than it is for potato CVs. This is due to said air combat being replaced by a basic skill check in the form of flak, meaning the unicum CVs can now put their undivided attention to striking while potato CVs are just as worthless as before. Aka surface ships now lose far more with the presence of a potato CV than before. 3. The skill gap between CV and surface ship ALSO doesn't matter in the rework due to the one sided nature of the mechanics. Everything is laid out to be in the hands of the CV player. With the upcoming mechanics change that changes very slightly but does not obscure the fact that the current implementation is heavily flawed. Attempting to combat a mechanic that has no counterplay with another mechanic that has no counterplay is stupidity and garbage design of the highest order. It shows how utterly disconnected WG is with reality and how desperate they are in attempting to fix the unfixable.
