Mouse aim has little effect on accuracy and is sufficient to adjust to any course correction a DD might make. Also CV planes turn way faster than you do. The few seconds you are unspotted are meaningless.

A way to introduce Shinano in the game
El2aZeR replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
Sophisticated fleet carriers were built way before construction of the Yamato class began. And their legend is solely based on wartime propaganda and theoretical abilities, aka stuff you shouldn't trust and dreams. Yamatos never conducted shore bombardment to my knowledge. -
A way to introduce Shinano in the game
El2aZeR replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
This would imply that being a Yamato is something positive. For a nation that pioneered naval aviation Japan sure shot herself in the foot by wasting resources on these. None of them served particularly noteworthy careers either, the hype surrounding these ships is based purely around their theoretical abilities and even those could be called into question given how the only surface engagement the class participated in turned out. Not exactly the best idea either given how IJN T10 planes are way more fragile, relying more on numbers to be effective which Shinano likely won't get. Contrast that to the very high alpha strike of IJN T10 planes and you have a balancing problem in the making. -

You have to admit it'd make for a unique gimmick tho. Give her Yama health pool and TDS, 32mm bow armor along with glorious CV near immunity to fires and you'd have a perfect battering ram with optional aircraft. On a serious note, this is kinda where the odd-tier CV removal really hurts. Shinano could've been slotted to T7 just like Saipan originally was. Will they though? They're about to reset all balancing work they've done in the past 7 months, meaning we potentially have another half a year of beta testing to look forward to. Not to mention the alt CV lines themselves presents a gigantic balancing fest. -
This is wrong on 2 counts. 1. Reworked CVs are either equally as or slightly less popular than RTS CVs. Regardless they're likely to become even less popular with the next round of AA buffs. 2. There is no adapting to reworked CVs. How well a reworked CV does is entirely up to them and does not depend on actions nor the skill of the surface ship player. The only thing you can do is pray that the enemy CV is ed (which is very likely on the other hand considering how badly CV average skill has suffered from the rework).

A way to introduce Shinano in the game

27kn is laughable. It's almost as slow as a Hosho. What you want at T10 is at least 30, preferably more. Also more than just that played into her sinking. Regardless WG does pick up on stuff like this when it comes to what gimmick should be given to a ship from time to time. It's entirely possible she'll end up with a worse TDS. And on a personal note, I honestly do not understand what fascinates people about this ship. A terrible design, a terrible construction, a terrible career (if you can even call it that) and a terrible waste of resources in general. The only distinction it holds is the largest warship ever sunk by subs. If WG wants to implement a freemium T10 IJN CV, I'd hope to god it's Zuikaku or Souryu, NOT Shinano. Make her a T8 premium at best, but she does not belong in T10. Especially not on top of a tech tree where the previous ship would have vastly superior hull characteristics. (Also I don't believe the alt CV lines will ever happen at this point.) -
All the issues you're describing have only happened to me on an individual basis (including the glitching UI one, that was... interesting). Never was anyone else but me affected. Thing is tho every situation you're describing has affected multiple people. This points towards a server issue ofc. Question is also if these occured in time periods in which WG acknowledged server problems. But individual loading bugs have always existed regardless of server history/version/load/whatever, which leads me to believe that that is actually a bug. Not that it particularly matters ofc. WG will probably never fix it considering they haven't done so in the past 4 years, so I guess we'll just have to live with it.

This has already been addressed actually now that I think about it. New players have a completely separate queue (when playing low tier ships) where they will only fight other new players. If not enough new players can be found bots will be used as substitutes (yes, in random, not coop). I believe this is account level based, so you can't cheat the system. How do I know this? I started anew on the CN server because of the CV rework a while ago and didn't see normal random battles at all unless I was playing E. What does that mean? Well, basically clubbing seals isn't actually clubbing seals. Every player you encounter in low tiers is technically speaking a veteran.

A way to introduce Shinano in the game
El2aZeR replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
Hangar capacity still translates to ready reserves. There are no advantages to a Yamato hull. The top speed is laughable, the armor likely inferior (having a Yama citadel) and the AA is garbage. I'll go out on a limb here and say her TDS is probably going to suck as well considering how she was historically sunk. Shinano simply doesn't provide a good hull basis in any way, shape or form. -
That's not a server issue. That's a bug which has existed since CBT.
-
Considering I can't see any real positive development in overall player statistics I don't believe anything needs to be done because no significant amount of new players has joined. On a serious note, WG has made it very clear that they aren't interested in improving the experience for new players. And quite frankly for a game that has had a stable playerbase for years (aka which has saturated its audience), focusing more on endgame content and the like makes economic sense.

Boy you are missing out on a lot. Imo Scarlet is actually the weakest installment of the series (not that Scarlet is bad, I loved it. It's just that the series gets better and better with each game). Eternity (the 3rd one) is especially amazing. -
Not going to happen. WG already tested a delay of up to 45 seconds before CVs can launch their first squad. They determined that CV players are all suffering from hyperactivity disorder and can't be expected to suffer the "boredom" of such a "huge" pause in their gameplay.
-
Having seen every single possible option exhausted over the years attempting to help these players only to be met with jeer and rebuke from them means making them quit via ruining their gameplay experience in every way possible is pretty much the only thing you can do and take comfort in. Everything else has proven futile without dev support which WG will never give as it conflicts with their monetization scheme.
-
Well, if it doesn't you can still take comfort in the fact that you've at least cost him quite a bit of money. It's a win-win situation.
-
Report for match fixing to get him banned. Apparently he has been already, so it shouldn't be long until he's permanently evicted. Maybe having to start a new account will teach him something.

Considering his results it's very hard to argue that GZ is somehow unplayable in her current state. She's only in a bad place relatively speaking and that's more due to T8 CV balancing being all over the place.- 67 replies

A way to introduce Shinano in the game
El2aZeR replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
Except that's actually just putting aircraft from the hangar on deck and prepping them for combat. Besides, even if you artificially enhance her reserves Shinano would still end up with garbage soft stats that make her unsuitable to replace Taiho or even Hiryu on the tech tree. There's a reason why she never made it beyond alpha. -
Hint: If you couldn't connect but others could, it can't be a server issue. Regardless if you weren't already penalized before this has literally no consequences. Being pink is not an actual penalty, it's a warning.

A way to introduce Shinano in the game

*disassembled in small parts for transportation. These were not ready reserves. Shinano would make for a poor T6 CV at best. Even her soft stats practically ensure she'd suck at T8 or, god forbid, T10. -
Mutsuki gets flak (albeit only a single burst). s can't dodge flak or think it is cosmetic.

500 average damage. And you want to tell us you don't need help? That you are apparently not "fighting against your own ship"?

Since @Excavatus has locked the last thread (for very good reasons really as it was in violation of forum rules) but I personally believe the base point was still very valid I thought I'd provide a new thread in line with forum regulations to discuss it. In my opinion Epicenter is a terrible gamemode, although that might be more due to the maps it is primarily played on than anything else. There is this weird notion that Epicenter encourages or even enforces aggressive play which in reality is just plain untrue. You'll usually see DDs in a mad rush towards the middle where they'll fight each other while everyone else just hangs back behind cover or bow on, boringly trading fire with each other while remaining completely static until one side eventually gives. In my experience this is WAY more campy than domination as domination at least provides some basic incentive for dynamic movement on flanks. Now this can actually be counteracted by map size, which leads to the one single map that I actually like Epicenter on: Trident. Combined with the map architecture and generally shorter range of lower tier ships the gamemode makes for some fun mid-close range combat. On maps like Tears of the Desert or, imo the worst of them all due to the constant weather effects, Islands of Ice though? Nothing but a boring gigantic campfest. So perhaps Epicenter should have its own dedicated maps instead of using normal ones. As it stands now it mostly just provides a terrible gameplay experience in random play.
