    CV Rework Discussion

Giving her TB squad 2 more planes which is quite frankly dead weight while reducing her TB reserves by 1.

It might be a conspiricy theory, ...but

Start? We're way ahead of you buddy.

This CB season in a nutshell

Radar Edin works surprisingly well I found.

Think they will Remove Friendly Fire ?

Well, there's the problem. Your expectations are clearly too high.

Think they will Remove Friendly Fire ?

Possibly with the introduction of the convoy gamemode. It'd be kinda bad if some griefer could just tk their own convoy. Then again they could probably just ram convoy ships towards the enemy team to work around that.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

So, I wanted to make a comparison with AA active. Then I realized that the CN training room doesn't offer active bots apparently. Or maybe I'm just blind. Not too familiar with earlier training room iterations.

    CV Rework Discussion

Time to earn some salt! https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/122367-st-california-marceau/ An AA refit NM and another T10 AA DD. On a different note, I just played my first match with the reworked Shokaku. Dunno what people are complaining about tbh. Her damage potential is excellent across the board. My only real complaint about her is that her bombs seem a bit weird. I couldn't get them to reliably arm/penetrate against some BBs for whatever reason (when used against cruisers ofc I instantly got citadels). Planes are a bit fragile but if you know how to work with that it's fine. What I certainly don't see however is why she specifically is getting nerfed. She doesn't seem more powerful than Lexington, but WG works in mysterious vodka-infused ways I suppose.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Suuure. I wonder why. It MIGHT just be because only stating I want a rollback is actually wrong or at the very least intellectually dishonest? Actual battle conditions vastly favor reworked CVs as outlined in my original post. I do actually. Izumo AA simply got buffed, one of the few instances in which such has happened transitioning from RTS to rework. Meanwhile the majority of AA got heavily nerfed. Still means AA is weaker than before.
  9. Not fast enough to prevent me from reaching T8 at least with plenty of cash to spare. And it's not like those are the only economy camos I have either.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Yes, however only because it is the superior system compared to the rework. If WG would present me with an alternative that is better than the RTS iteration I'd favor that instead.
  11. Is it? With all the free stuff WG is throwing out? I'm not so sure. E.g. I already have 60 Ocean Soul camos (which were not drawn from a SC) on CN and a ton of economy flags despite not spending a single dime except on an Enterprise (which did not come with anything bundled). And I haven't even reached T5 yet.
  12. Same here. Never seen those people running multiple T10 ships with only 500 battles or so with no premium ships aside from free ones?

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

A test in a controlled environment somehow does not lead to conclusive evidence? Okay then. Yeah, sorry, but no. And AA is way weaker in the rework. Can you actually read or do you just want to keep perpetuating your blatant lies? You do realize Lexington holds the same damage potential with Saipan being even higher? What makes Enterprise overpowered (fast plane regen, AP bombs, RF accuracy, etc.) does not play a part in this experiment for the most part. I have actually played other CVs, you know? Just because I don't have them currently on hand doesn't mean my previous experience with the RTS system goes completely void. As for Haku, I'm gonna guess kill time is way faster with reworked Haku. A RTS Haku could only eliminate a BB within 2 strikes without assistance of DoT, if even that. That'd mean first kill would probably be around 3-4 mins. Reworked Haku meanwhile can just spam AP bombs and, theoretically, eliminate a BB with a single squad. Which is why I have managed to break my kill record in a couple of months of the rework which I couldn't do in years of RTS. You do not stomp on the CV anymore that much is true. You just now stomp on everyone else.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Oh boy... While I would be happy with a rollback, I do not require it. If the rework would objectively, genuinely improve upon CV play I'd be more than happy to let the RTS iteration go. Problem is the rework doesn't improve upon anything. It in fact worsens the overall situation by shoveling its own gigantic issues on top of the already enormous CV problems pile. And all of its issues are tied to the very fundamental mechanics of reworked CV play. As such what needs to be done is to scrap the rework completely and either roll back to an existing superior system (aka RTS), start anew or even scrap CVs altogether. Out of those a rollback to the RTS system seems preferable to me on practical grounds but I wouldn't be opposed to a fresh start or outright removal either. What WG is currently doing is futile, at this point they're just dismantling the rework piece by piece in an attempt to fix something fundamentally broken.

Haven't I made those abundantly clear already? For both this thread and overall for the game?

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Then what was your point? "Let me antagonize this guy on this thing I have no idea about. That'll teach him!" You're funny tho, I'll give you that. Even though I'm sure that's not your intention. :) Perhaps, but it still proves a lot of things even if a rollback will not happen. If RTS CVs were considered broken, so must reworked CVs. If RTS CVs were too influential and overpowered, that means further nerfs for reworked CVs are required and justified. If one of the goals of the rework was to supposedly reign in the potential of CVs, then it is still objectively a gigantic failure.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

While I can definitely understand why they did that, I fail to see why this inevitably has to apply to me as well. After all I'm still playing, aren't I? Grasping at straws here mate. No, but any particular reason why I should care? The game isn't balanced around ops, isn't it? Besides, have you ever considered that not reworked CVs, but you might be the cause of your failure to perform? I mean, your scores in reworked CVs aren't exactly stellar especially when compared to your previous performance if I may say so.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Almost not doesn't equal only, no? Besides, the reason I stopped playing surface ships as much as before is the rework. If hypothetically the rework gets removed (one way or another) and doesn't get replaced by an even bigger dumpster fire I will naturally pick up surface ships again.

Yes, that was RTS CV vs RTS Zao AA. If I had been in a reworked CV that Zao would've died easily.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

I just posted in the other thread screenshots of where I lost almost 4 squads of DBs against first a Zao and a Musashi and on the 2nd strike only the Zao. First strike was a complete wipe, 2nd strike had a single survivor. Damage dealt? 3.4k for 3 bomb hits. Most planes were wiped on approach. So yeah, AA does change things - in favor of reworked CVs.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Daily huh. I must have a gender-switched twin brother who posts using my account like that one banned person then. Since you seem incapable of reading before posting whatever biased views you try to perpetuate, let me spell it out for you. There are multiple individuals that seem to believe the rework is in some way more balanced and has somehow made CVs weaker than their predecessors. The purpose of this thread is merely to disprove that. I didn't lose a single word here about wanting CVs removed. Now that we've clarified that, may I ask what the point of demonstrating your laughable bias here is? Other than destroying your own credibility ofc but that would imply you ever had some in the first place.

    The mind-set of the 40-percenter

    Relatively speaking ofc.

    Comparison RTS vs reworked CVs

Considering this experiment is static in nature I'm unsure what that would achieve. Alpha strike, plane turnaround times and strike efficiency don't change. That's like asking me to calculate 2+2 25 times just so we can be sure that the result is 4. The only variable would be DoT and the potential outcomes can easily be inferred from the above test results. Both iterations would suffer but thanks to a way faster RoF reworked CVs not only have a higher chance to set it, they're also less affected when it occasionally fails them. Meanwhile if I hadn't gotten a flooding on my first strike with RTS E first kill would've gotten severely delayed, with every other subsequent time suffering hard afterwards as well. This gets even worse if I don't get a flooding on my 2nd target either. I did state that reworked CVs have massive advantages in these regards so in actual combat they will inevitably pull ahead even further compared to RTS ones. Maybe I'll do one with AA active later. Just wanted to demonstrate raw damage potential with this.
